September InKing Royalty Blog Hop!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s September Blog Hop! The leaves are changing, Halloween is around the corner, and we are playing with orange tones that are sure to get you in the mood for Fall. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! Choosing a color for our blog hop today was pretty easy since we really only have one true orange, Pumpkin Pie. I love easy!!! At the end of this post is a list of all those who have created cards for you today. Have fun hopping with us today.

I began with a Basic Black card and added a splash of Them Bones Designer Series paper. After all I could not just go with only Pumpkin Pie. I do believe there is a bit of Cajun Craze in the piece I chose. And of course the star of my show today is Pick of the Patch. Four of my pumpkins were punched with the Pick of the Patch Builder Punch and the other two were fussy cut with my handy dandy Paper Snips. If you don’t own a pair of these scissors you are totally missing out! My greeting and the smiling pumpkin face is stamped with Memento Black ink-how easy is that!

I mounted my pumpkins on a piece of Basic White cardstock and added it to a Pumpkin Pie panel and then to a Basic Black panel that I cut out using the Deckled Rectangles. Since we don’t have any Deckled Square Dies, I cut the last side of the square using a rectangle die that was one size larger than my original cut. It worked like a charm-who knew??? The green leaves are stamped with Old Olive ink and the pumpkin stems with Pecan Pie. I do have a tip on how to punch out these adorable pumpkins without wasting paper, click here for that video.

Well that is all I have my friends, orange you glad you joined us! LOL Hahahaha I just could not resist. Really I hope you enjoy all the projects on our hop today! Your next stop is with Sue Jackson at Just Peachy Stamping!

The Mercy of Our Lord is For All!

Today’s gospel is all about forgiveness and mercy. “Should you not have pity on your fellow servant, as I the Lord had pity on you?” (Matthew 18:33)
Our dear friend Peter started it all with a very simple question, Lord how many times must I forgive? Jesus then shared a parable and we hear of a King who was moved with compassion because one of his servants begged for more time to pay off his debt. The problem was the man who was forgiven refused to forgive and show mercy to his fellow man, which is exactly the kind of mercy our Lord calls us to. We are called to show mercy, compassion, forgiveness and gratitude.

If only the servant whose debt was forgiven had been grateful enough to practice the same kindness he would not have been handed over to be tortured and pay his debt in full. Unfortunately we can often be like this very servant, failing to be grateful for the mercy and compassion shown to us.

Today, let us imitate Jesus and not only forgive others when they hurt us but show them compassion in giving them a second chance. God forgives us again and again and He never holds our sins against us but instead wipes our soul clean. Let us ask our Heavenly Father to strengthen us in showing mercy towards others.

Medley Mix-Favorite Things Friday!

Well, I am continuing my week of tribute to my fellow crafty demonstrators with two cards created with the Medley Mix Bundle featured on page 57 in the Holiday Mini catalog. My cards today are brought to you by Sally Nusbaum and Julie Weber. Thanks girls for sharing your talents with us.

Medley Mix Bundle

Sally used Moody Mauve ink and a Blending Brush with one of our decorative masks to create a fun background. We used the punch to crop the star from the Moody Mauve and Very Vanilla before adding these layers to the card. It is a great way to minimize your cardstock waste.

Medley Mix Bundle

Julie used Very Vanilla and Pretty Peacock to add a bit of texture to her card. I believe she used the Glorious Gingham 6 x 6 Designer paper to punch out the X’s. I hope you have fun creating with all of these card ideas.

Blessed Correction~Sunday Wisdom!

Today’s gospel teaches us the importance of lovingly correcting each other’s behavior. A healthy relationship always involves honestly. Wouldn’t you be grateful if someone helped you change a bad habit?  I personally would want to know if I was hurting someone. And yet, being directly honest with one another can be challenging. But guess what folks, Jesus never promised us an easy life. Then again, how can we tell if someone is trying to help or just being a gossip?

Gossip can be defined as is a story about people that is designed to hurt, not rescue, and spread among people anonymously.

How can I recognize a gossiper from a compassionate person just trying to help?
Well, first ask yourself is what you are hearing designed to help or hurt?
Does there seem to be a sincere desire to for accurate truth about all involved?
Did the person talk directly to the all involved as Jesus told us to do in today’s gospel?
And finally, what if the stories you are hearing were about you?

Jesus asked His followers to judge based on what they saw and heard from their own eyes and ears, this alone can help us avoid gossiping. Jesus calls us to be compassionate and understanding.  Even if we have to walk away from the situation we should do so with love and respect.  After all remember how Jesus treated the Gentiles and the tax collectors?  Shouldn’t we do the same?

Rustic Crate Blessed beyond Measure

Happy Friday! Today’s card was created with the new Rustic Crate Bundle featured in the Holiday mini catalog. I decided on the poinsettias and used Cherry Cobbler and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to color them. The crate was cut with Early Espresso cardstock and the accent pieces with Smoky Slate.

I noticed that the greeting did not stamp as crisp as I would like. Of course I noticed this after I put the card together, but if this ever happens to you there might be residual oils from manufacturing on the stamp, especially the photopolymer ones. Not to worry, because the super simple remedy is to use an eraser over the entire stamp and clean if off with a damp cloth or a baby wipe (no alcohol of course).

Here is a closer look of one stamped after I used the eraser technique. You be the judge! Happy Stamping!

Pick of The Patch Bundle-Make It Monday #125

Remember the pre-school poem or song about the five little pumpkins sitting on the gate? Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.-the first one said “Oh my it’s getting late.” The second one said “There are witches in the air!” The third one said “But we don’t care!” The fourth one said “Let’s run and run and run!” The fifth one said “I’m ready for some fun.”

Well I guess I should have create my card with a landscape format because I only have three pumpkins. LOL I created today’s card for a Shoe Box Swap next weekend where I will be stamping with 11 of my fellow demonstrators and friends.

Click Button Above or Photo Below to access You Tube Video-Make It Monday #125

If you have never been to a Shoe Box Swap it is like a stamp camp/stamp class in a box. Each of us will be creating a card and cutting enough supplies for everyone who will be participating. I will take all my supplies and set up a station as will the others who will be attending. Then we just travel around to all the stations creating each other’s card and at the end of the day we will have 11 cards. It is a lot of fun and I am looking forward to spending time with my stamping friends.

I guess if you are going to the Shoe Box Swap next week and you follow my blog, this is a spoiler alert, sorry! Either way, I hope you enjoy this card and it inspires you to created something beautiful today. Happy Stamping! Click the button below to download your free pdf project sheet!
