Favorite Things Friday

Flowering Zinnias Happy Birthday!

One of my favorite things is celebrating birthdays and my card today was the birthday card that I gave my niece, Shelby, yesterday on her 31st birthday. She is an elementary teacher at my parish’s school and she is doing an amazing job. I just had to celebrate her with these beautiful paper flowers. Of course real flowers would have been better but if you know me then you know I don’t have a green thumb. I decided on the next best thing and surprised her with a birthday cupcake from Jilly’s cupcakes.

Here is the card I created for her.

This card was so super simple. I just started with a Berry Burst card base and added a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series paper on the card front and stamped the greeting with Memento Black ink directly onto the DSP. The greeting is from Sentimental Park and yes, that will be carrying over to the new catalog.

For the inside I attached a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Basic White and stamped the You from Sentimental Park and the second greeting from Notes of Nature. Sorry Notes of Nature is retiring but you still have a few more days to add that to your stamping stash before it is retired for good! I hope you have a fantastic Friday! Happy Stamping!

You are Loved-Favorite Things Friday

It is so much fun to randomly bless someone with a handmade card and it is just one of my favorite things to do with all the cards I create for my blog. Is there someone in your life who might need a paper hug? It might be a close friend, a family member a neighbor or someone from your church that you don’t know very well.

When I receive a handmade card it always bring a smile to my face. So why not be that person who is committed to blessing others with a paper hug. After all, from time to time, we all need encouragement. The Perennial Postage set is the perfect set for blessing others and today I chose to focus on the You are loved beyond measure greeting. Who wouldn’t love getting that in the mail.

I started with a Calypso Coral card base and added a layer of Lost Lagoon. I had some left over scraps from the Artistically Inked pack of designer series paper so I cut those into 1-1/4 x 5″ strips and added them to my Lost Lagoon panel. I stamped my greeting with Lost Lagoon ink to bring out the color in my paper. Just add a piece of Basic White or Very Vanilla to the inside and your card is ready for those words of encouragement. Happy Stamping!

Vintage Bottle Punch

What is your favorite, punches or dies? In my craft room I think I have a good mixture of both. I love that punches are super fast but I also love that dies are not as heavy and bulky when I pack up to craft with a friend. I love that dies have less restrictions allowing you to place them wherever you want to create a cut out, punches on the other hand, not so much.

Either way I love them both. And one of the cool things in the new 2024-2025 catalog is a new bundle where you can choose either a punch or dies. So far I think there is only one bundle offering a choice but who knows more may be featured in our future online exclusives. Mark your calendar for the new catalog coming May 1st.

Our card today features the Vintage Bottle punch. I punched 4 bottles from Boho Blossom cardstock and colored them with Boho Blossom and Night of Navy Blend markers. The Crumb Cake accent is embossing with the Painted Texture embossing folder.

I love the look of our Crumb Cake cardstock with the Night of Navy. My greeting is from the Layering Leaves stamp set. There are so many things you can do with this punch. Have fun playing around with different colors and create your own bottle design. This gem of a punch will be retiring at the end of the month. Click Here for my post on Last Chance products. Happy Stamping!

Happy Easter – Easter Bunny!

Happy Easter everyone. I hope you all have a blessed weekend and enjoy spending time with family. I thought I would share an Easter card that I sent to a very special friend. This cute little Easter bunny will soon be retiring so if you don’t have him, now is the time to add this cute stamp set and punch to your crafting stash.

Begin with Crumb Cake card base. I then added a layer of Basic White. To create the sky I used a Blending Brush and some Pool Party ink. The Easter Bunny is stamped with Memento Black on a scrap of Crumb Cake. I used a combination of colored pencils and the blender pen to create the bunny fur. I wanted his fur to look soft, so I added the white using an old blender pen and some Craft white ink.

Add grass of your choice. I used a few different stamps from the Ocean Front stamp set to create my grassy border. If you are wondering why I stamped and fussy cut my greeting it is because I totally messed up my first attempt to stamp it directly to the card front. And yes, I waited until I had all my sky and grass completed. Wouldn’t you know it the greeting was just a bit crooked, but it bugged me so I stamped and fussy cut a new greeting. See there really are no mistakes in stamping, only creative opportunities!

I hope you have a Hoppity fun Easter! Happy Stamping!

Spring Stamping With Friends-Favorite Things Friday!

Good morning all, not only is it Friday but it is time for another card class at Mother of Good Counsel Home, an assisted living/nursing care center in my neighborhood. It is run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Martyr St. George and it is one of my favorite card classes.

I thought I would share with you the three cards that I created for today’s class. I try to keep things as simple as I can as I typically have 10 residents attend. Some of the products you see are retired, others are not, but hey at least you get the card idea-right?

Card #1

I created the Eggs ahead of time so all the residents had to do was add them to the card front. Sorry my image looks a little dull at the bottom, I must have gotten some excess glue on it. Oh well, homemade, right?

Card #2

Stamp Set: Something Fancy

This is one of those fracture cards. I thought it would be fun and maybe just a bit too intricate, so I created the front panel ahead of time and all they have to do is stamp the thank you and add the panel to the card front. Easy Peasy!

Stamp Set: Good Feelings

This is a super easy but totally cool one. It is hard to see in the photo but there is a glitter stripe next to all the colors. I think they will like the extra bling! I hope you pull out your crafting supplies and create a card to bless someone today. Happy Stamping. Don’t forget about the retiring stamp sets, paper, tools, and bling in the mini and annual catalogs. CLICK HERE if you missed that post.

More Fun with Excellent Eggs-Favorite Things Friday!

Hey all I am not sure about you but one of my favorite things is the changing of the seasons and although those who suffer from allergies might not agree with my, spring is a magical time of the year. I love when the wild flowers and day lilies begin to pop up and of course it is almost time for Tulip seasons and I absolutely love tulips!

Sorry no tulip card today, but I am having fun playing with the new Excellent Eggs bundle. I typically do not send Easter cards, but I think I am going to have to this year. By the time I am done playing with this bundle I have a feeling I will have plenty of cards to share with family and friends. I hope some of these cards inspire you to get creative! Happy Spring!

I decided to use a Basic White card base and added a layer of Starry Sky. I really love this color and am very sad that it will be retiring in April. If you want to stock up on the paper and re-inker, now is the time. Monday afternoon the retiring list will go live and then all those retiring In-colors will be gone. They typically sell out super quick!

I colored my Easter Egg with some of our alcohol markers, the Stampin’ Blends! They made creating a bright and festive egg super easy. I used the Starry Sky, Daffodil Delight, and Granny Apple Green blends. I stamped the egg stamp with Starry Sky ink on a panel of Basic White to create the background for my card. Happy Stamping!!!

Donuts and Ice Cream-Favorite Things Friday

Here is another fun card I created with the Ice Cream Swirl bundle that is available in the January – April mini catalog. This catalog will be retiring soon, so stay tuned for the announcement on which sets will carry over to the new Annual Catalog.

Host Code: ERQFFAAN

The real question for today is donuts or ice cream. Which is your favorite sweet treat! The Ice Cream Swirl bundle features both of these treats and I have to say, hands down, ice cream for me. However, there is a stinkin’ good donut shop just a mile from my house and they make the best Old Fashion donuts. Actually all of the donuts are great, Old Fashion just seems to be my favorite. If you have a chance, check out JMC Donuts!

I started my card with a Lemon Lime Twist card base and added a layer of Basic White. The donuts are stamped with Crumb Cake ink and cropped with the coordinating die in this bundle. I used the Lemon Lime Twist ink pad and a blender pen to color the donuts. The sprinkles are just dots from the Melon Mambo blend marker. Have fun creating a variety of donuts for your next celebration card.

If you have any favorite 2022-2024 In-Colors just a reminder they will be retiring. I would suggest ordering whatever you want before March 18 when the retired list is made public. It seems every year when this list goes live the retiring In-Colors are the first things to sell out! The retiring colors are Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis.

Here are the In-Colors that will be retiring this month!

The stamp pads, re-inkers, cardstock, blend markers and ribbons will not be available in the next catalog so now is the time to place that last minute order before the list goes live!

Delicate Forest-Favorite Things Friday

Happy Friday, I hope you are all staying warm. I have another card for you today using the Delicate Forest Silhouette stamp set. I created my background using a blending brush and some Tahitian Tide ink. Gently apply several layers of ink over a Basic White panel of cardstock. It is important to go slow and apply several layers to get a smooth looking background. Using our blending brushes is one of my favorite ways to create unique backgrounds.

DELICATE FOREST

To highlight the look of this silhouette stamp set I used Memento Black ink. The greeting is from the Easter Lilies bundle. I am looking forward to using a variety of different ink colors to create more with the Delicate Forest. Happy Stamping!

Jungle Pals Favorite Things Friday!

Happy Friday everyone. We are in the final days of our Sale-A-bration Sale and now is the time to add those Sale-A-Brations products to your stamping supplies. For every $50 you order online through my store you will recieve a free Sale-A-Bration stamp set, paper pack, or some fun bling. Today I am sharing two products from the Jungle Pals bundle. These cute little critters are just waiting to make your next project a hit.

JUNGLE PALS

This card came together fast as the Jungle Dies made it super easy. I cropped the tree using some Pecan Pie cardstock and the leaves and jungle grass with Garden Green cardstock. Our little hanging friend was stamped with Memento Black ink and colored with some watercolor pencils. I used the Early Espresso pencil and a blender pen to create the shading.

The Happiest of Birthday is from Throughout the Year and stamped with Pecan Pie ink. It looks a little crooked. LOL I promise I did not have a glass of Chardonnay while creating this card, although maybe that would have helped. Anyway it is homemade right. I am sure whomever receives this hanging friend will not mind. I think it reminds us that being perfect is so overrated! Happy Stamping!
