Real Love-Sunday Wisdom

In our world today success seems to be the primary goal. We set goal for ourselves and when we fail to attain them, wonder what is wrong with us. And yet we hear in today’s readings the only real goal is love. The questions we should be asking ourselves is how well do we love and are we loved by others?

After all loving and being loved is the only accomplishment we can take with us to our life in heaven. Sure working and being successful at our job is good, but love is the greater good. Good news we can do both!.

The Presence of God’s eternal love is something Mother Teresa knew well. Her example of ordinary and extraordinary acts of kindness changed the world. How can we be that light for others? How can our ordinary acts of kindness change the lives of those we will meet today?

To live in real love is to think of others first. It is to live in the present, not dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Living in real love is not easy, but it is rewarding because love without sacrificing is empty love .However, in order to live in real love we have to love by God’s standard and not our own and that can be hard.

Jesus is our supreme example of how to continue to move forward in love despite opposition and rejection. Sure sometimes we fail to recognize Jesus in our lives, but He is there, always with us, always protecting us. Our lives are for but a moment, so take some time in prayer today and allow Jesus to rekindle your fire of love for others.

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and stamped the leaves in Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Merry Merlot. The greeting is stamped with Memento Black ink and the splatter image in Crumb Cake.

Last week I was involved in a fun team meeting that included a Mystery Stamping fun fold card so I thought I would share that with you today. If you are not familiar with Mystery Stamping it is a fun virtual event where a leader give mystery clues for each step of the card making process. It is a lot of fun and of course always interesting to see everyone’s final creation.

Happy Birthday, Make it Monday Videos / January 24, 2022

Wow, so hard to believe it is already Monday again. Where does the time go? It seems like weekend fly by more quickly than ever. This weekend was particularly quick as I spent most of the weekend in the backyard with my hubby and son splitting wood. Yes, you read that correctly, I got my lumberjack on and helped split wood on Saturday and Sunday.

We had a few trees taken down this summer and decided to keep the wood for our fireplace. Of course we might still be in the backyard if my brother did not come over to help us! Thanks bro!

My card today has nothing to do with being a lumberjack, fireplaces or even winter. I decided to share a bit of spring with you to hopefully get you in the mood for warmer weather! Today’s video tutorial features a new set from the January – June 2022 winter catalog, Wildflower Path.

Hammered Metal Embossing Folder
Stampin’ Blend Combo Markers- Granny Apple Green, Blackberry Bliss and Crumb Cake

I began with a Garden Green card base and used the Hammered Metal embossing folder to add some texture to the card front. I stamped the turtle outline and the shell with Garden Green ink and used some Stampin’ Blend Markers to add color. The ground shadows were created with the Crumb Cake Blend Combo.

The greeting is stamped in Memento Black ink on the Granny Apple Green cardstock and layered to the Garden Green and Basic White panels. Clean, simple and quick is always a favorite. This sweet card was super easy and quick card which makes it the perfect go-to card for birthday favorites!

Flowing Flower Birthday

Today’s card features the Flowing Flower stamp set in the January – June 2022 mini catalog. It is one of those amazing distinctive ink sets. I just love the details on these images.

I began my card with a Blackberry Bliss card base and added another layer of Blackberry Bliss that I dry embossed by running it through the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine using the Tasteful Textures embossing folder.

The greeting is from Flowing Flower, stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink, cropped with the Layering Circle dies and mounted on Blackberry Bliss and Crushed Curry cardstock and then attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The ribbon across the upper half of the card was from my retired ribbon stash, so if you do not have that, you can just add a strip of Crushed Curry cardstock instead
