A Touch of DSP!

If you have been stamping for awhile, especially with Stampin’ UP! then you are probably family with DSP. Last week I posted the retiring list of products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. It might seem like everything is retiring, but I assure you there are more wonderful sets, bundles and kits heading your way in May!

As a Stampin’ UP! Demonstrator, I get a sneak peak at the NEW catalog and you are going to love it. Sorry I am not allowed to share it just yet. If you missed the list last week, I will have a button at the end of this post that will take you the pdf.

Although the colors in today’s card are not retiring, the patterned paper will not be returning.

  • Begin with a Misty Moonlight card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼.  Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut the six ½ x 4” strips of the 2020-2022 Designer Series paper attach them on the diagonal to a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White cardstock, trimming as needed.  As you attach them at an angle, each piece will become smaller and more will need to be trimmed off.
  • Once all colors are arranged and glued down, stamp the sentiment from So Sentimental in Misty Moonlight ink to the upper portion of the white cardstock.
  • For the finishing touch randomly add several 2020-2022 In-Color Enamel Dots.

This is a quick and easy layout that looks great with a variety of patterned papers. It is also a great way to use up those smaller pieces of scrap paper! I hope this inspires you to take a second look at your scrap collection and create something beautiful!

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Vine Design Fancy Thank You!

I really excited to share this fancy thank you card with you today because it looks elegant and complicated, but really it is not hard at all. I used the dies from the Vine Design Bundle to create the flowered lattice side cut out the thanks from the Well Written dies.

  • Begin with a Very Vanilla card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼.  Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Very Vanilla and use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to dry emboss with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder.  Attach this vanilla embossed panel to the card front.
  • Cut a 2 ¾ x 4 ½” piece of Highland Heather cardstock and using the Vine Design rectangular die run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.  That’s all it takes to create a fancy side panel.  Add a bit of Tombow liquid glue and adhere it to the left side of the Very Vanilla panel dry embossed in the previous step.
  • Crop the “thanks” using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the Well Written dies.  Again use some Tombow liquid glue to adhere it to the card front.
  • For a finishing bit of elegant bling, add 9 silver metallic pearls to the center of some of the flowers. (see image above)
  • For the inside, stamp the greeting from the Happy Thoughts set in Highland Heather ink.

I hope you enjoyed this fancy kind of thank you! You will be amazed at how simple this card really is, but it will definitely wow your friends.

Sunday Wisdom-Hail King of the Jews!

As we enter into Holy Week we are reminded of what the Kingdom of God looks like. Jesus our King emptied Himself for us. He is our servant King who humbly loved us enough to die for our sins and still loves us and continues to offer His love, mercy and forgiveness.

God’s way of royalty is not the world’s way and through His death and resurrection we have been saved and adopted as a beloved member of the royal family.

We can live out our royal calling in love and service for others. This week as we walk the way of the Cross with our Lord let us offer Him our struggles, sadness and anxiety and remember that He awaits us all with a crown of glory.

Artfully Thinking of You!

Today’s card feature the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper in the Spring mini catalog! This is such a great suite and is filled with tons of product that is sure to get you motivated to create something beautiful.

I focused mainly on the paper and used the greeting from the Framed for You stamp set, which will be retiring soon and I am super sad about that because it has become my go to for greetings. I love how the greetings are a bit smaller and have an elegant font. Oh well, I guess I will have to find a new favorite!

Check out the Framed For You set and many other retiring products soon before they are gone, gone, gone!

  • Begin with a Petal Pink card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼.  Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5¼” and a 3 x 3 7/8” piece of Old Olive cardstock. Attach the larger piece to the card front and set the smaller piece aside.
  • Cut a 3¼ x 4”, 7/8 x 5¼” and 1 x 2” piece of Petal Pink cardstock.
  • Cut a ½ x 5¼” strip of Gold Foil cardstock. Layer the gold strip onto the Petal Pink strip that measures 7/8 x 5 ¼”.  Now layer that strip across the Old Olive layer on the card front.
  • Cut a 2¾ x 3½” piece of the Fine Art Gallery Designer Series paper and layer it to the Old Olive piece you set aside.  Now layer the Old Olive to the 3¼ x 4” piece of Petal Pink and attach to the card front as show in image.
  • Stamp the “Thinking of You” greeting from Framed for You in Memento Black on the small remaining piece of Petal Pink cardstock.  Trim it down and attach to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoy creating with the products in this amazing suite.

Vine Design-It’s Black and White!

If you have not purchased the True Love Designer Series paper from the Spring mini catalog you don’t know what you are missing. I have totally enjoyed the versatility of this paper. You can leave it black and white or spice it up by adding color with the Stampin’ Blending Brushes or the sponge daubers. If you missed the spiced up with color post, CLICK HERE

Today’s card was inspired by this black and white paper. I used the stamps from the Vine Design set to create my own black and white paper.

  • Begin with a Basic Black card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼.  Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 3 ¾ x 5” piece of Basic White cardstock and randomly stamp images from the Vine Design set in Memento Black ink and attach to the cards front.
  • Cut a 1 x 4” strip of Basic Black cardstock and punch both ends using the Lovely Labels pick a punch.
  • Stamp the greeting on some white cardstock and cut it down to be 5/8 x 3 1/8” and layer on top of the Basic Black punched embellishment.

Add a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White to the inside of the card and stamp a few flowers of your choice on the inside. There you have it a very clean and simple stamping project created with just a few basic supplies. Check out this set and many others in the Spring mini catalog. Products in this catalog will be available until June!

Time to Say Good-bye!

Now is the time to get those products from the 2020-2021 Annual catalog and yes, some of them are discounted! There are many retiring items, but please note that even though some of the bundles are listed as retiring that doesn’t always mean the stamp set, dies or punches are retiring. Be sure to check out the *** at the end of the list for more details on that…..

Now with that being said, even if the stamps or dies are carrying over the 10% bundle saving will not, so why not order it now and save.

I thought it might be fun to have a little farewell parade of some of our retiring favorites to help you decide which ones to add to your list! LOL.

A Well Said-Art Gallery Kind of Birthday!

I love it when things come together and todays cards features three awesome sets that go perfectly together. The florals for the Art Gallery Bundle are the perfect card front for a special birthday card. The pop of black wording from the Well Said bundle makes an ideal card for anyone, but especially for someone who loves blue and flowers.

NOTE: The black outline around the image is for easy viewing only and is not actually part of the card.
  • Begin with a Basic White card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼.  Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5¼” piece of Pacific Point cardstock and use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine dry emboss it with the new Painted Texture 3-D embossing folder and attach to the card front.
  • Add a ½ x 4” strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock across the lower section of the Pacific Point panel.
  • Stamp the large flower bundle in Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut out using the coordinating dies from the Art Gallery Bundle. Remove the flowers and add the greenery to the card front.
  • Stamp the large again in Pacific Point ink and cut out using the dies and snip off the blue flowers to add to the greenery.
  • Next cut the Happy Birthday greeting from the Well Written dies in Basic Black cardstock and glue to the card front.

Now I know there was a little fussy cutting on this project, but it is worth it right? I am sure when you create cards using this set you will be inspired to send them to everyone you know. I am actually sending mine off tomorrow. My mother-in-law is turning 89 on Saturday! YIKES! My birthday may be coming up, but she still has a few year on me! LOL

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Seashells by the Seashore!

The weather is definitely getting warmer here in St. Louis and soon the outdoor swimming pools will be opening (hopefully), but that does not compare to collecting seashells by the seashore. No seashores around here, but you can create a warm and welcoming thinking of you card with the Friends are Like Seashells Bundle.

  • Begin with a Sahara Sand card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼.  Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5¼” piece of Night of Navy cardstock and a 1 ¼ x 5 ¼” strip of Sahara Sand cardstock.  With the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine dry emboss the Night of Navy with the Subtle embossing folder and the Sahara Sand strip with the Tasteful Textiles 3-D embossing folder.
  • Attach the Night of Navy to the card base and then attach the Sahara Sand strip across the middle of the Night of Navy layer.
  • Stamp the seashells in Night of Navy and Shaded Spruce ink and cut out using the coordinating dies from the bundle.
  • With Early Espresso ink stamp a sand dollar and a starfish on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut them out using the coordinating dies from the bundle.
  • Add a few stands of linen thread behinds one of the shells.  Fray the ends for added dimension.
  • Cut out a fern/seaweed and use a Sponge Dauber to add a touch of Shaded Spruce ink.
  • Stamp the Thinking of You greeting in Night of Navy on a 1 x 4” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it using the coordinating die from the Vine Design Bundle.

I hope you enjoyed this little break at the beach and it will inspire you to create something beautiful. This bundle is in the Spring Mini catalog. A PDF catalog is available on the home page of my blog.

There are a few days left to earn the March Virtual Stamp Camp (4 projects). Place an online order of $25 or more through my blog and add the current host code: RYXTY496 or email me with your order and I will send you the video links and pdf instruction sheets for the March projects.
