Make It Monday #258 Three Clean and Simple Cards

Happy Monday everyone. I cannot believe how quickly May has flown by. I guess it is because I am retired and I can craft whenever I want. My work days certainly did not go by this quickly! LOL Today, I am excited to share with you three clean and simple cards. These are the cards I will feature at my May card class with my beloved seniors at the Mother of Good Counsel Home. They are such a lovely group. I love that the men like to come to my class and I usually have around 10 residents who participate.

These are super simple cards and I have used a variety of products, some retired, some on the last chance list for a great discount and some are current in my online store. Be sure to click the Shop With Me button at the end of this post if you are looking to purchase any stamping toys. I do believe the Gallery of Bloom is still available and has been discounted. I am really going to miss this set. (sad face)

Make It Monday #256 A-2 Cards and Gift Bag

Happy Monday everyone. I hope you had a glorious weekend. Today I am excited to share with you a fun gift bag that I created using one piece of 12 x 12 designer series paper. Plus you can use the left over strip to create 6 beautiful cards. I will be sharing with you 4 cards that I created with my left over strip. I want to give a shout out to Julie Dimiatteo at the Paper Pixie for her great tips on how to get perfectly even handles!

Here is a look at two of the bags I created:

Gift Bag Measurements:

  • Choose a 12 x 12 piece of designer series paper for your bag and matching cards. Cut your DSP to be 8-1/4 x 12 making sure your directional design is along the 12″ side.
  • Cut strip of 3-3/4 x 12 DSP into six 2″ strips to create your six matching cards.
  • Score on the 12″ side at 4-1/2, 5-3/4, 10-1/4, and 11-1/2. Rotate your DSP and score at 1-1/4 for the bottom and at 1″ for the top. See video on how to make cuts and fold bag and create the prefect ribbon handles.

Here is a closer look at the cards created from the 3- 3/4

These bags are so much fun and I love Julie’s tip on how to create the perfect handle every time. I had a blast created so many of these bags for this year’s Mother’s Day. Although my mom is no longer with me, I had a good time creating them for some very special moms! Thank the Lord for He is good and always placing the right people in our lives at the right time. Let us rejoice and give thanks for all moms and grandma’s this week. After all, Mother’s Day is not just one day of celebration, it is a lifetime of love. Stop back on Wednesday for another video tutorial. Happy Stamping!

#253 Make It Monday ~ Filled With Sweetness Bundle

Happy Monday all. I do hope you had a fabulous weekend. I recently met a few friends for a few days of stamping/scrapbooking. It was so much fun. It is always so much better to craft with friends. I borrowed the Filled with Sweetness from one of my stamping friends so I do hope you enjoy today’s creations.

This was a fun set to play with and if I did not already have so many berry sets, I would add it to my wish list. I loved how big the jam jar stamp was and so I created a tag instead of a card!

Here is a closer look at our cards for toeday!

Make It Monday #252 Last Chance Products

Hello my stamping friends. I wanted to pop on real quick with a video that features some of the products on our Last Chance list. This is not my typical card making video but many of the bundles featured on our Last Chance list have been reduced. I thought it was important to jump on and let you know that you get more bang for your buck when you order the stamps and dies or punches separately, and not as a bundle. This is typically not the case but it is true some of the products that have been significantly reduced. I hope this video helps you to save a few dollars here and there.

If you want any of the featured sale items or for any of your stamping needs and you don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I would be happy to serve you. Just click here or on the Shop with Me button at the end of this post.

Make It Monday #251 ~ Strip Paper Piecing Technique

Happy Easter Monday! I pray that our Risen Lord will bless you abundantly during this Easter Season. I thought it would be fun to go through my springtime DSP scraps to create a few fun cards for you. So dig out your leftover scraps and create something beautiful with me today.

Did you know that when you cut a 12 x 12 piece of DSP into six card fronts measuring 4 x 5 1/4 that you will have a strip of 1 1/2 x 12 left over? Fun, right? Well, when that happens, don’t throw them away or cut them down because today I am going to show you how to use them to create a strip paper piecing card. Check out the video below that explains how this technique works.

Here is a closer look at our cards for today!

Free PDF project sheet!

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards and will have fun creating with your leftover scrap pieces of designer series paper.
