Faux Tile Technique-Make It Monday #98

Hey all, today I am excited to share with you another Faux technique to add to your card making portfolio. This is a fun technique that can be stepped up to create beautiful and elegant hand-stamped cards. In this video I am sharing two different ways to create faux tiling, one super simple and the other a bit more involved. Pick your favorite or try them both out. Either way, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Christmas Flash Back-Favorite Things Friday!

While it is getting cold here in St. Louis, we are not getting the snow that is blanketing the northern plains, and so I thought why not flash back to a favorite Christmas card using an old time favorite stamp set, now retired-Lovely As A Tree.

I created this card for as one of our stamp camp projects many years ago, so I am not sure the exact measurements. I did start with a Basic Black card base and I am guessing my white panel is 3¼ x 4¼ and the black panel is 3-1/8 x 4-1/8. I stamped the trees in our Craft White ink and used a sponge to create the snow. I do not remember what set the sentiment is from, but I am sure you will find something in your holiday stash. You might even have the Lovely As A Tree set, as it was a super popular set and in the catalog for a really long time. I am guessing if they brought it back it would continue to be a best seller among new stampers.

I hope you enjoyed this Flash Back-Favorite Things Friday. As much as I love Christmas and snow, I am looking forward to spring! Happy Stamping!

Seeing Red Circles-InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! This year’s hops are inspired by our favorite shapes and favorite colors – today’s projects showcase some of Stampin’ Up!’s amazing shades of red. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Why is it that the simplest themes tend to be the most difficult? I love the color red and for some reason my mind went to circles because Valentine’s Day is over and well, I just could not do hearts. Some days I am just on the struggle bus and while it took me much longer than need be, I am happy with my results.

I started with a Basic White card base and to another layer of white measuring 4 x 5¼, I added a 1 inch strip of Poppy Parade, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and Merry Merlot. I used liquid glue to attach each strip. Then I ran the layer through my Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine using the Metal Plate 3-D folder. I then cut the layer using my Picture This circle die.

The greetings and the flowers are from the Lovely You stamp set. I stamped everything with Real Red ink. I fussy cut the flowers using my paper snips and attached them to the small circles using a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional. I hope you enjoy my circles of red card creation.

I hope you have fun hopping with us to day, next stop is Stamp Me Silly with Jan Dufour. Don’t forget to leave a comment, we love hearing feedback from you!

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Sentimental Park Bundle

My card today was created using the new Sentimental Park Bundle. This new bundle is available in the mini 2023 Spring catalog. This is a super sweet card, but I would not consider it to be a clean and simple card. It is not hard by any means, but does have a few moving parts and several steps for using the dies.

I began with a Basic White card base and embossed another layer of Basic White using the 3-D Fern embossing folder. I added that to a layer of Night of Navy and then to the card front. The strip of Designer Series Paper is from the Sun Prints pack. I cut my strip to be 2 x 5¼. The squares are dies from Stylish Shapes and all other dies are included in the Sentimental Park Bundle.

I love all the little flower dies that come in this bundle. They are great for adding that additional embellishment, here I used one on the greeting which I stamped with Night of Navy ink. The other flowers are cut using Basic White and Night of Navy CS with the stem from Old Olive.

I hope you enjoyed this card. I really am enjoying this set and love all the greeting possibilities. Happy Stamping!

Forever Fern Birthday-Favorite Things Friday!

One of my absolute favorite stamp sets in the annual catalog is the Forever Fern set. I love, love, love this set and so I am sharing with you today a card I made for my boss this week. It was his birthday on Valentine’s Day!

#blessedbycards

This set is considered a Distinctive ink set and is pictured on page 73. I love the details and you can even get the Forever Flourishing dies that coordinate with many of the stamps. I only wish there was a Happy Birthday greeting in this set. As you can see it is a great set that is elegant and yet masculine at the same time.

I started with a Basic White card base and on another piece of white I stamped several of the leaves in Old Olive, Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz. I cut the cardstock on the diagonal and added a strip of Garden Green. I used the Black Memento ink for the splatter. The greeting, stamped with Garden Green ink, is from Framed Florets which is featured in our Spring Mini catalog.

I hope you will stop back again for more card inspiration! Don’t forget to join me each Monday for a Make It Monday tutorial. Happy Stamping!

Think Spring-Sentimental Park Bundle

Happy Tuesday! I am so glad the weather is beginning to warm up. I love winter, but I also love it when the flowers begin to bud. I hope this card gets you in the mood for spring.

#blessedbycards

I began with a Garden Green card base to get me in the mood for fresh cut grass. I do love the smell of fresh cut grass, but I am not a fan of the candles that try to mimic this smell. I want the real thing.

On the front of my Garden Green card I added a layer of Basic White CS. I am using the Sentimental Park Bundle featured in the new Spring Mini catalog. I stamped the leaves in Garden Green and the flowers in Polished Pink. I then used the flower dies to crop a variety of sized using Polished Pink CS.

The greeting is from the Sentimental Bundle and is stamped in both Garden Green and Polished Pink inks. I love how versatile this stamp set is and I also love the script with the printed greetings. This is a super simple card and a perfect way to reach out to someone today.

I hope your day is blessed-Happy Stamping!

Happy Valentine’s Day-Love Cats!

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my beloved friends and fellow stampers. I hope your day is filled with love, sunshine and hope. May our good Lord Bless you and fill you with His love, today and everyday.

I could not resist using the Love Cats for a sweet Valentine’s Day card. I hope you are inspired to share some love today. After all everyone can use a paper hug.

I started with a Basic Gray card base and added a layer of Real Red. The Real Red layer was embossed with the new 3-D Metal Plate embossing folder. These adorable cats were stamped using Basic Gray ink and I colored the hearts with a the dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend marker. I fussy cut the cats with my Paper Snips and arranged them on the card front.

The greeting is from the Love Cats set and is stamped in Real Red ink. I cropped the greeting using one of the label dies in the Something Fancy Bundle and attached it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Perhaps this card will inspire you to spread some love today, or even adopt a kitten of your own. LOL Happy Stamping!
