Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! Trees are such a central image in card making (Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, trees are gorgeous), so we have designed projects with trees to share with you today. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
I know the trees in my project are retired, but they are such great trees. This is also a great set to showcase the watercolor background. Last month I featured a video and some cards I created using this background technique. CLICK HERE if you missed that!

I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Brian King at Stamp With Brian! Merry Christmas to all my amazingly talented stamping friends!

In many cultures snowflakes symbolize uniqueness. Sound perfectly logical since each snowflake is different. Snowflakes are actually made of ice crystals. Ice crystals are simply water droplets that freeze on contact with dust particles in the atmosphere. These ice crystals develop into intricate, beautiful shapes and we call them snowflakes. Did you know that the shapes depend on how cold the sub-freezing air is and how much humidity or moisture is present in the air where they form.

Well, today’s holiday card features the Snowflake Sky embossing folder (#162026 $11). I absolutely love the look of the snowflakes and just for fun I embossed on a panel of designer series paper instead of cardstock. I think it gives it a much softer look.
My card base is Cherry Cobbler and my greeting from Night Divine is stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink. I did fussy cut the greeting, but other than that, this was a super simple card. I hope you will create some beautiful holiday cards with this unique embossing folder. Happy Stamping!

Here is another holiday card using the Joy of Noel bundle and the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper. I began with a Shaded Spruce card base and added a layer of DSP to the card front. The green holly border is also cut using a panel of Shaded Spruce cardstock. The greeting is stamped with Shaded Spruce ink on a panel of white and cropped using the coordinating die from the bundle.

Did you know that traditionally the Holly tree symbolizes peace and goodwill. Due to its resistance to lightning, it is associated with the Celtic and Norse gods of thunder, Taranis and Thor. According to ancient history it was planted near dwellings to protect people from lightning strikes. I think it is just beautiful and makes me think of Christmas! Happy Stamping!
