Wherever you live, the Peaceful Cabin is sure to bring you a changing of the seasons.

This Bundle is one of those rare versatile sets that allows our creative juices to run free. I am secretively hoping they come out with a sister set that has tiny flowers, birds and bunnies to create a fun summer scene. We shall see……

A Peachy Happy Birthday!

I know it is fall, but the weather has been so warm lately it still feels like summer, at least here in St. Louis. So I figured why not embrace it with a quick and easy birthday card featuring the You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper pack.

This 12 x12 pack of paper is gorgeous! Just see for yourself.

You’re A Peach 155686 $11.50

I chose to use the larger peaches on the white background and paired it with a Calypso Coral card base. I added a layer of Old Olive and then used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to create a double border.

The greeting is stamped in Calypso Coral ink using some of the images from the Biggest Wish stamp set. I created the double border by using two of the Stitched dies that nestle into each other. I cut the Calypso Coral border is as a frame and the white rectangle fits inside of it.

I am finding more and more ways to utilize these great dies and love how they dress up the outside of a card. Be sure to use the Stamparatus to add the greeting in Calypso Coral ink, it makes it so much easier.

I hope you have fun creating! Perhaps today the weather will be a bit cooler. Happy Stamping…..

Stinkin’ Cute Halloween Card-Make It Monday #28

Today’s tutorial is a super easy but seriously cute Halloween card. It was created with a Basic Gray card base and some added layers of Pumpkin Pie and Highland Heather cardstock. I used the Frightful Tag Dies as well as the Festive and Bright stamp set.

The Boo! was stamped in Memento Black and is from the Banner Year stamp set, which might be my all time favorite fall stamp set. I also used a few stamps from the Banner Year set on the inside. I hope this inspires you to create some spooky, but fun cards for this Halloween.

Supplies and Instructions

I don’t typically send a lot of Halloween cards, but the Frightful Tag dies are so stinkin’ cute! And while I really hate spiders, there is something adorable about this simple black spider web. Join me Wednesday for another Weekly Wednesday video and next week for another Make it Monday!

A Higher Calling-Sunday Wisdom

In today’s gospel Jesus teaches his disciples about the value of surrender and detachment.  The rich man has a sincere desire to follow Jesus and have eternal life. Jesus values this, understands him and then calls him to be more, give more and follow completely.

Wealth and material things are not bad, after all Jesus permits them, but then again when our attachment to possession gets in the way of living more like Jesus then there is a problem. After all Matthew the tax collector was very wealthy when Jesus called him to give up his job and follow.

Jesus wants us all to break free of whatever is holding us back from living as disciples of Christ.  He wants us to find freedom through detachment and surrender so we can truly focus on loving God and one another.

What is our Lord asking you to let go of today? What distracts you from that high calling of freely living as one of his disciples?

Lord help me to surrender whatever is distracting me from you.

Daisy Garden Sympathy Favorite Things Friday

Happy Friday! I hope you had a blessed week and are ready to do some crafting this weekend. Today, I thought I would share a card I created with one of my favorite background stamps, Daisy Garden. While sending a sympathy card is never fun, it is important to let the people we care about know we are thinking of them and what better way then sending a hand-made card.

This card was stamped in the white craft ink and heat embossed with some white embossing powder. You can find the powder and heat tool on page 128 in the 2021-2022 annual catalog.

Supplies

Cutting Measurements

All Measurement=inches  CS=Cardstock DSP=Designer Series Paper  Landscape Position=Long side   Portrait Position=short side

  • Basic Black CS-  5½ x 8½, (card base), 4 x 5¼
  • Basic White CS:4-1/8 x 5-3/8, 4 x 5 ¼,7/8 x 3 ½
  • Daisy Garden Background Stamp
  • White Craft Ink
  • White Embossing Powders
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Heat Tool
  • Stamparatus
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/Liquid Glue

Directions

  • Score card base in landscape position (aka longer side) at 4¼. Fold and burnish to create card.
  • Use the Stamparatus to stamp the Daily Garden image on Basic Black CS with White Craft ink.
  • Cover stamped image with white embossing powder and set with heat tool. Attach to Basic White panel (4-1/8 x 5-3/8) and then attach to card front.
  • On Basic White CS strip, stamp greeting in Memento Black ink and layer to card front.
  • Add 4 x 5¼ Basic White panel to the inside and decorate as desired.

I love the look of the white on black and think it is perfect for a Sympathy card. Enjoy the weekend. And don’t forget if you are planning to place an order that is less that $150, please use the host code. You don’t want to miss out on collecting those points for your extra shopping perks.

God Has A Bigger Plan-Sunday Wisdom

God wants us to see beyond ourselves, our everyday needs, wants and desires to see the bigger plan.  Have you ever noticed in the gospels when the Pharisees or the High Priests try to trick Jesus, he just redirect them.

I think it is natural for us to think same and see only our personal wants, but God wants more for us. Marriage is not about always doing what is right or wrong; it is an act of faithful and self-giving love.  For the beginning God put together a man and a woman who were obviously both in need of grace.

There is hope for us. We don’t have to always get it right, we just have to allow the light of Christ to shine through our everyday, ordinary, and imperfect love.  There will be times of struggle and doubt, but God always wants to lift our eyes to the greatness of his bigger plan.

Fall Squirrel Fun-Favorite Things Friday!

Well, if you know me then you are not surprised that Fall is one of my favorite things. I love the changing of all seasons, but nothing beats the beautiful colors God creates in the turning of all the leaves. Today’s card showcases the cute little squirrels in the Nuts about Squirrels set featured in the July-December 2021 mini catalog. I stamped the greetings and the outline of Mr. Squirrel in Early Espresso ink.

I began with a Crumb Cake card base and added a layer of Cherry Cobbler. The acorns are stamped with Crumb Cake and Gray Granite and the squirrel is colored in with the Watercolor Pencils.

I do hope you are enjoying the cooler weather and watching these cute little critters gather acorns for the winter.

Thanks for stopping by!
