Five Minute Friday Serene Love DSP

Happy Friday everyone. I thought I would start a new series for Fridays called Five Minute Fridays. I am hoping these super quick cards will inspire you to create something beautiful to share. I will keep the Fun Fact Fridays alive as well. So on Fridays you will either see a Five Minute card or a Fun Fact Friday. Either way, we will all be ready to celebrate Fridays, right?

Today’s Five Minute card is created using the Serene Love 12 x 12 Designer Series paper. This is a great paper pack and it is in the Last Chance Products sections while supplies last. Click here to see all the Last Chance Products!

I started with a Night of Navy card base. I chose the Night of Navy stripes with the Night of Navy floral on the reverse side. I first cut a 2 x 5-1/4 strip and then a 3 x 5 -1/4 strip. I used the 2″ strip for the stripes and the 3″ for the flowers. See sample above. I then added a 1/2″ x 5-1/4 inch strip of Night of Navy cardstock.

The greeting is from So Sincere and is stamped with Night of Navy ink. I cropped the greeting using the Labeled with Love die. Just add your bling of choice and you are all set. Of course you can take it a step further and color some of the flowers. Totally your call. Happy Stamping!

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Love Your Enemies~ Sunday Wisdom

Last week we heard about the beatitudes and now this week, Jesus is calling us to go deeper and actually love our enemies. This is difficult on a good day, let alone if we are struggling to forgive someone who has wounded us.  But the, God is love and his Mercy is unfathomable, so what do we do.

Well, if we want to live God’s Kingdom here on earth and actually make a difference in our world, we need to do good to those who hate us, bless those who cure us, and most importantly pray for those who abuse us.  Now my friends, that is a tall order as we enter the Lenten Season, but with God’s grace, it is possible.

It seems so counter-cultural right? Society teaches us to give because we will get back, or be nice so others are nice to us. So loving our enemies is certainly uncomfortable, but then again, so is the cross. Jesus asks us to take up our cross and follow him. Follow him in this life and into paradise.  We are called to love others not because they love us, but because it is the right thing to do.

As we prepare for the Lenten season, take some time to ask God what he wants you to do this Lent and how we can change the world, one act of kindness at a time.

Kiss of Texture~Weekly Wed. #45

Well as promised on Monday I am back with two cards using the Kiss of Texture stamp set. This set makes the kissing technique super simple. Plus you don’t even need to kiss, you can use these stamps by themselves. It is very cold and snowy here, so it is a great time to be inside crafting. Have fun creating!

Here is the card without the Pool Party ribbon!

For card#1 I used Pool Party in for my solid square and Shaded Spruce to kiss the flower image. See video for details on the kissing technique. The greeting is from Simply Said and stamped with Shaded Spruce ink. I cropped the square images using the Stylish Shapes dies. These are such amazing dies, I hope they never retire!

Here is Card #2

For card #2 I began with a Fresh Freesia card base and added a Night of Navy layer. I used the circles from the Stylish Shape dies to create this fun circle thank you card. The greeting is from Simply Said, stamped with Night of Navy ink and cropped with the Labeled with Love dies. The solid circles are stamped with Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia. I kissed the fun arch stamp to the blue circles with Night of Navy and to the Fresh Fressia circles with Petunia Pop ink. I added a few purple backed adhesive sequins for a little pop.

These are the Stylish Shapes dies that I used. Fun Fact: The short fat banner cuts the banner from the Kiss of Texture perfectly. I will post a card on Friday using both of these.

Stylish Shapes Dies

I know if you order these they will quickly become your go to dies for a ton of projects. If you place an order through my website, don’t forget to use the current host code. Happy Stamping!
