The need for a sympathy card is always a somber occasion and all the more reason why our hand-made cards are so important in the lives of others. I had the need for such a card just last week and while it is always hard to say good-bye to a loved one, there is also hope that all is well in the kingdom of heaven.
Perhaps you too have had the need to send a sympathy card recently or maybe you received one and it brought you comfort and hope. That is precisely why I think it is so important for us all to reach out to one another in times of need.
My card today was created using the Comfort and Hope set on page 88 in the Annual Catalog (AC). I love the faux gem look and you can create gems in any color! How fantastic is that?
- Begin with a Misty Moonlight card base 5 ½ x 8 ½. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
- On a 4 x 5¼” piece of white cardstock, stamp the rings stamp in Old Olive ink near the bottom right corner.
- In Misty Moonlight ink add some faux gems using the stamp of three gems on the top and bottom of the Old Olive rings.
- Punch out a strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock with the Lovely Label pick a punch. Punch on both ends.
- Stamp the greeting in Misty Moonlight ink on a scrap of white cardstock and cut it out using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the Stitched rectangle dies and adhere to the Misty Moonlight strip.
- Stamp the greeting in Misty Moonlight ink on a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of white cardstock and attach to the inside of the Misty Moonlight card base.
I hope you like this simple, but unfortunately necessary card. Stop back tomorrow for some more crafting fun!
