Let it Snow! Fun Fact Friday!

Wow, this week has flown by. Sorry about not posting a Weekly Wednesday video. We had a few family medical issues to deal with this week, but I am back on track and the weather here in St. Louis has gotten significantly colder. If you live in the Chicago area that your weather will match today’s card!

Fun Fact: St. Louis, Missouri receives an average of 15.5-18 inches of snow per winter season. The greatest cumulative snowfall in St. Louis occurred in 1977, when the city received 49.2 inches of snow. However, the average annual snowfall in Chicago, Illinois is 36-37 inches. Chicago experiences a heavier snowstorm about every three years, with over 10 inches of snow falling in 1-3 days.  Now that is great snowman making weather. What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods?

For today’s card I used the One of a Kind snowflake die and cropped 5 snowflakes with Balmy Blue cardstock. I used our liquid glue to add them to a Basic White card panel. I then ran the white pane through the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine using the Snowflake Sky embossing folder. I love that the snowflakes are also embossed.

I then stamped Let it Snow from the Sophisticated Sled set with Balmy Blue ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock three times. Yes, then I got out my paper snips and fussy cut each greeting and added it to the Basic White panel. I attached it all to a Balmy Blue card base and I was done in less that 10 minutes.

I am really not sure what to call this technique but it is a super cool way to use your die cuts and your embossing folder at the same time. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. Happy Stamping!

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae
