God’s Abundant Love-Sunday Wisdom

In today’s readings, we are reminded of God’s abundant love for us and that Jesus will never abandon us. By offering us the beatitudes Jesus envisions our everyday life transformed into something new. He challenges us to care for the poor and be aware of injustice. He wants us to think about his promise of love to us and how we can extend that same love and mercy to our neighbors. He wants us to step out of our complacency and change the world.

This is a life of hope where our rewards will be great in heaven. But, we cannot do it alone. We cannot rely only on our human strength, we need the Holy Spirit so we will have the courage to move forward in holy boldness. We have to first strengthen our relationship with Jesus and then we will be filled and able to extend unconditional love and generosity to others.

So today, read through the eight Beatitudes and focus on how Jesus is teaching all of us the virtues and values in life that will result in blessings and rewards.

Simply Flowing Flowers

Hello my stamping friends, I am back today with another Favorite Things Friday featuring a clean and simple card using the new Flowing Flowers stamp set in the January – June 2022 mini catalog. This set is quickly becoming one of my favorites in the new catalog.

I love how simple and elegant these flowers look, especially when you stamp them in a variety of colors.

My card today begins with a Basic White card base and I used Melon Mambo, Highland Heather and Old Olive inks. The light gray highlight around the card is just so you can see the image more clearly. Although it would also look good backed with Smoky Slate CS-who knew?

The greeting is stamped with Memento Black ink and punched with the Label Me Lovely punch., which I layered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also add a few pearls that were in my stamping stash!

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

I know you can all relate, and this paper is so beautiful so why waste right?

For those of you who do not know about this paper, you can get it FREE with a $50 order through my online store. Our host code is 4CW6QDVV. But hurry, this sale and this host code ends on February 28th.

Plentiful Plants-Happy Birthday

Today’s card was created for my daughter’s roommate, who absolutely loves plants. This is a perfect card for anyone who has a green thumb! I love plants and a well groomed yard, but I am just not good at growing things, so these plants are perfect for me.

I began with a Crumb Cake card base and added a layer of Cajun Craze that I dry embossed with the Brick and Mortar embossing folder. I stamped a few of the pots with Cajun Craze ink and a few with Shaded Spruce. I decided to add a mixture of stamped greenery and Designer Series paper images.

I used Very Vanilla for the hanging pot and added Happy Birthday in Memento Black. This is a really great bundle and while it looks really involved it did not take long to put together. You can choose your plants to be all designer series paper, all stamped images or a combo as I did in the image above. Either way, I am sure your green thumb friends will love it.

Project Supplies and Measurements

  • Crumb Cake CS- 5½ x 8½ (card base)
  • Cajun Craze CS-2 x 5½
  • Basic White CS-5½ 8½ (for planters)
  • Very Vanilla CS-1½ x 3
  • Shaded Spruce CS- 1 x 3
  • Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper
  • Plentiful Plants Bundle
  • Cajun Craze Ink
  • Shaded Spruce Ink
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine
  • Brick and Mortar Embossing Folder
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive or Liquid Glue

My daughter and her roommate live in Chicago and they just got hit with a ton of snow, so I am hoping this fun card filled with lots of summery greenery will be a ray of sunshine for both of them.

Sacred Hope-Sunday Wisdom

The main characters in each of today’s readings, Isaiah, Paul and Peter, all have a sacred encounter with the Lord. Praise God there is something captivating by His holy presence. When we truly encounter our Lord, something miraculous happens, Jesus cuts straight to our heart and offers us all sacred hope.

In the midst of our everyday, ordinary lives, we are a mixture of good and bad. Sometimes our faith is fervent and pure, other times, not so much. And sometimes in the midst of God’s holiness, we can only focus on our unworthiness, but the good news is that God is not going anywhere. Of course God’s holiness should stop us in our tracks and fill us with awe, but it can also bring us hope.

The Lord is always walking with us. He is always in our boat, even when we turn away from him or try to run from his love. He is always willing to cut straight to our heart and remove any doubt and/or fear. The real question is how will we respond to His love and mercy.

Will we respond with love, mercy and thanksgiving, or will we reject His sacred grace? We are all unworthy, but the good news is that when we stand before the Lord empty and little, with open and humble hearts, he can fill us with the grace of His love, mercy and sacred hope.

So don’t let your feelings of unworthiness keep you from Jesus. Go to him, empty and little. I promise you he will fill you and bless you with more goodness than you could ever imagine.

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Winter Snow and Sunflowers-Favorite Things friday!

Well it has been snowing here in St. Louis for the last two days. One of my favorite things is a fresh snow, shoveling, not so much. I think we accumulated at least 9 inches of snow yesterday and was out shoveling twice. Needless to say that was my exercise for the day. Today, I am hoping for sunny skies and although we are a long way off from sunflowers, we can always craft them right?

Today’s card begins with a Early Espresso card base and a little hope for sunshine. I added a piece of the Sale-a-bration DSP Afternoon Delight to the left side and dry embossed another piece of Early Espresso with the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder.

The flowers are colored with our Stampin’ Blends. The tag was created with the Double Oval punch and embellished with some linen thread. This stamp set, Jar of Flowers, is available in the 2021-2022 annual catalog. Happy Stamping!

Sweet As A peach-Thank You!

Today’s project features the Sweet as a Peach Bundle and the You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper in the 2021-2022 annual catalog.

I began with a Calypso Coral card base and two pieces of the You’re A Peach DSP that measures 3 x 4. I choose the floral and the polka dot. You will also need a few pieces of Basic White cardstock.

I stamped the peaches in Calypso Coral ink and cropped them with the coordinating dies from the bundle. I stamped the leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink directly to the white cardstock panel and then added the peaches. The greeting is stamped in Memento Black and all is layered on the card front.

I also added a strip of Designer Series Paper to the inside of the card. I had fun creating the layers for this card and hope you will too. Plus it was super easy and went together very quickly.

The greeting is from Blessings of Home. I am bumming because it is a little crooked. I knew I should have used the Stamparatus. Oh well, I guess it has that homemade look.
