Jesus the Transformer-Sunday Wisdom!

In today’s gospel we reflect on Jesus’ transfiguration and perhaps we are able to see a glimpse of our own conversion. During this time of preparation for the resurrection of our Lord, we are invited to an inner change that can transform our lives completely.

So how do we do that?  Well, the first step is to simply spend time walking with the Lord and allow Him to supply our every need. I know sometimes this is not always easy, but we all need to be changed. We all need to soften our hearts and lean on God just a little more. It is during the challenges and difficulties in life that we allow Jesus to transform our hearts.

Just like the apostles in today’s gospel, we too can have a mountain top experience. And if you have ever experienced that then you know we eventually have to come down from the mountain and pick up our cross, but the good news is we do so with Christ by our side. Then slowly as we come to “know, love and serve the Lord,” we grow in trust. We begin to open our hearts, our eyes and our ears to the one who renews our lives.

Mother Mary, pray for us. Jesus we trust in you.

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Heart Punch Pack-Favorite Things Friday!

Sometimes one of my favorite things is to reach for one of our punches because they always seem to be so quick and easy when creating a card on the go. The star of today’s card is the Heart Punch pack featured on page 153 in the annual catalog and the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper pack on page 134.

#blessedbycards

This paper pack features three of our gorgeous blues, Pacific Point, Night of Navy and the new In-Color Starry Sky. For my card base and scallop heart I used the Night of Navy cardstock. The greeting is from Peaceful Moments and is stamped with Night of Navy ink.

I hope wherever you are today that you will make some time to create something beautiful and bless someone with a hand-stamped card.

You Are Amazing-Amazing Thanks Dies!

Thank you to all of you wonderful and loyal customers who placed an order during Sale-A-Bration. I hope you are enjoying your new toys and for those of you who just ordered yesterday, your toys will soon be on the way. I know many of you ordered the Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper pack as your freebie so I thought I would share with you one last card that I created using this paper.

Yesterday I posted a card using the Fresh Freesia flowers (click here) so today’s card is using the Calypso Coral and Petal Pink floral. I used the dies from Amazing Thanks to create the greeting. I cut the sayings twice, one with Calypso Coral cardstock and once with Basic Black. I glued them together slightly off centered to create a shadow effect.

The card base is Calypso Coral and I added a piece of Basic Black (4-1/8 x 5-3/8) before adding my layer of DSP (3 ¾ x 5). I also added a piece of Basic White (4 x 5¼) inside so I can write a message. I plan to give this card to someone I met last weekend at church. She did such an amazing job reading scripture so I thought, this amazing woman deserves a special handmade card. I have to admit I don’t know her name, but I am sure she will appreciate the card just the same.

Thanks for stopping by and for placing an order. May God continue to bless you and inspire you to create something beautiful for someone this week.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Christmas Flash Back-Favorite Things Friday!

While it is getting cold here in St. Louis, we are not getting the snow that is blanketing the northern plains, and so I thought why not flash back to a favorite Christmas card using an old time favorite stamp set, now retired-Lovely As A Tree.

I created this card for as one of our stamp camp projects many years ago, so I am not sure the exact measurements. I did start with a Basic Black card base and I am guessing my white panel is 3¼ x 4¼ and the black panel is 3-1/8 x 4-1/8. I stamped the trees in our Craft White ink and used a sponge to create the snow. I do not remember what set the sentiment is from, but I am sure you will find something in your holiday stash. You might even have the Lovely As A Tree set, as it was a super popular set and in the catalog for a really long time. I am guessing if they brought it back it would continue to be a best seller among new stampers.

I hope you enjoyed this Flash Back-Favorite Things Friday. As much as I love Christmas and snow, I am looking forward to spring! Happy Stamping!

Seeing Red Circles-InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! This year’s hops are inspired by our favorite shapes and favorite colors – today’s projects showcase some of Stampin’ Up!’s amazing shades of red. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Why is it that the simplest themes tend to be the most difficult? I love the color red and for some reason my mind went to circles because Valentine’s Day is over and well, I just could not do hearts. Some days I am just on the struggle bus and while it took me much longer than need be, I am happy with my results.

I started with a Basic White card base and to another layer of white measuring 4 x 5¼, I added a 1 inch strip of Poppy Parade, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and Merry Merlot. I used liquid glue to attach each strip. Then I ran the layer through my Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine using the Metal Plate 3-D folder. I then cut the layer using my Picture This circle die.

The greetings and the flowers are from the Lovely You stamp set. I stamped everything with Real Red ink. I fussy cut the flowers using my paper snips and attached them to the small circles using a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional. I hope you enjoy my circles of red card creation.

I hope you have fun hopping with us to day, next stop is Stamp Me Silly with Jan Dufour. Don’t forget to leave a comment, we love hearing feedback from you!

Sentimental Park Bundle

My card today was created using the new Sentimental Park Bundle. This new bundle is available in the mini 2023 Spring catalog. This is a super sweet card, but I would not consider it to be a clean and simple card. It is not hard by any means, but does have a few moving parts and several steps for using the dies.

I began with a Basic White card base and embossed another layer of Basic White using the 3-D Fern embossing folder. I added that to a layer of Night of Navy and then to the card front. The strip of Designer Series Paper is from the Sun Prints pack. I cut my strip to be 2 x 5¼. The squares are dies from Stylish Shapes and all other dies are included in the Sentimental Park Bundle.

I love all the little flower dies that come in this bundle. They are great for adding that additional embellishment, here I used one on the greeting which I stamped with Night of Navy ink. The other flowers are cut using Basic White and Night of Navy CS with the stem from Old Olive.

I hope you enjoyed this card. I really am enjoying this set and love all the greeting possibilities. Happy Stamping!

Forever Fern Birthday-Favorite Things Friday!

One of my absolute favorite stamp sets in the annual catalog is the Forever Fern set. I love, love, love this set and so I am sharing with you today a card I made for my boss this week. It was his birthday on Valentine’s Day!

#blessedbycards

This set is considered a Distinctive ink set and is pictured on page 73. I love the details and you can even get the Forever Flourishing dies that coordinate with many of the stamps. I only wish there was a Happy Birthday greeting in this set. As you can see it is a great set that is elegant and yet masculine at the same time.

I started with a Basic White card base and on another piece of white I stamped several of the leaves in Old Olive, Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz. I cut the cardstock on the diagonal and added a strip of Garden Green. I used the Black Memento ink for the splatter. The greeting, stamped with Garden Green ink, is from Framed Florets which is featured in our Spring Mini catalog.

I hope you will stop back again for more card inspiration! Don’t forget to join me each Monday for a Make It Monday tutorial. Happy Stamping!
