Rooted in Nature with Forever Fern DSP!

I am excited to share with you another card that I made with some Forever Greenery designer series paper scraps. This card features the Rooted in Nature set and the greeting is from Framed For You. Both of these sets will retire at the end of this month.

Don’t forget if you live in the St. Louis area, I would love for you to join us for our monthly stamp camps. CLICK HERE for upcoming dates.

  • Begin with a 5½ x 8½” piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock. In landscape position, (aka the long side), score at 4 ¼”. Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and layer it to the card front.
  • Cut a 2 ¾ x 2 ¾” square of Forever Greenery designer series paper and cut it in half on the diagonal.  Layer one of the halves to the lower left corner of the Pear Pizzazz panel.
  • Cut a 3 x 4” piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp the top of the large tree from Rooted in Nature in Shaded Spruce ink and the trunk in Soft Suede.
  • Stamp the greeting from Framed For You in Soft Suede in the upper left corner of the white panel and attach to a 3-1/8 x 4-1/8 piece of Soft Suede cardstock.
  • Attach tree layer to the card front.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock for the inside and decorate as desired.

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Sunny Sunflowers!

Hello all of my crafting friends. I do hope your day is filled with sunshine. It is supposed to be sunny today here in St. Louis, but the rain is moving in on Saturday, so of course that will make the ground perfect for planting real sunflowers.

My card today is clean and simple design because sometimes all you need is a little simple stamping to create something beautiful. I love the black and white look and when we add a little color, everything just pops!

  • Begin with a 5½ x 8½” piece of Basic Black cardstock. In landscape position, (aka the long side), score at 4 ¼”. Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp the large Sunflower from the Sunflowers bundle in Memento Black ink half off the left edge twice, one at the top and one toward the bottom.
  • Stamp another large sunflower on a 4×4 piece of Basic White cardstock and color it with the Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the coordinating flower die to and crop out the sunflower.
  • Attach the colored sunflower to the left side of the white card panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals and layer it so some of the flower hangs off the left side.
  • Use paper snips to trim off excess flower.
  • Stamp the greeting in Memento Black ink.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼ piece of white cardstock and layer it to the inside panel.  Decorate as desired.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Etched In Nature

As a demonstrator for Stampin’ UP! I recently participated in an On Tour Virtual event and received a free stamp set from the new upcoming catalog. The event was so fun and we all created a sample to share with the group, which we made using the free stamp set of course.

So, here is the card I created to share. The name of the new set Etched in Nature.

  • Begin with a 5½ x 8½” piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock. In landscape position, (aka the long side), score at 4 ¼”.   Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.  Use Soft Suede to stamp the ferns and the mushrooms onto the Crumb Cake panel.
  • Color the buds on the fern using a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend and attach the panel to the card front.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the largest square from the Stitched Shape Dies to cut a piece of Very Vanilla.  Stamp the bird image in Memento Black ink and color using Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends.
  • Layer the bird panel on a 2 ¾ x2 ¾” piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock and attach to the Crumb Cake panel over the stamped images.
  • Stamp the greeting in Misty Moonlight ink on a ¾ x 1-7/8” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and attach it to a 1 x 2” piece of Misty Moonlight.
  • Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach this to the bottom of the bird panel.
  • Layer a 4x 5¼” piece of Very Vanilla to the inside of the card and decorate as desired.

Celebrate Sunflowers that is pictured on page 13 in the current annual catalog and the Sweet Strawberry set featured in the current mini catalog will both be coming to the new 2021-2022 annual catalog.

  • Begin with a 5½ x 8½” piece of Bumblebee cardstock. In landscape position, (aka the long side), score at 4 ¼”.   Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼”piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the large rectangle die from Ornate Layers.
  • Attach the layer to the card front.
  • Stamp the small sunflower in Memento Black ink on some Basic White cardstock and crop it out using the Sunflower dies from the bundle.
  • Color the Stampin’ Blends or the Watercolor pencils to color the sunflower in Daffodil  Delight, the leaves in Garden Green and the center in brown.
  • Next cut a 2¼ x 3½” piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp a greeting from the Sweet Strawberry bundle in Blackberry Bliss ink and attach it to the center of the ornate layer.
  • Now add the small sunflower and you have a very elegant birthday card.

Praise God For His Mercy-Sunday Wisdom

My Lord and My God have mercy on us! Today we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday and we see in the gospel how Jesus offers Thomas, also know as doubting Tom, love and mercy.

Thomas needs to see Jesus to believe. Blessed are those who have not seen, but believe. Notice how Jesus is so patient with Thomas and does not give up on him. Jesus never gives up on any of us. How do you give and received the mercy of our Lord?

Jesus died for all of us and when we dwell in his loving wounds we allow ourselves to be loved by Him which gives us the courage to offer mercy to others. So today, dwell in His mercy and be filled with hope, for you are loved!
