Angel Wings

Today’s card features the Christmas Means More set on page 29 of the Aug-Dec Holiday mini. This has been a pretty popular set, so the inventory is low. Once it is gone, it is gone! Go ahead, order yours today. If your order is less than $150, please use the Host code: URBMWZNY.

Can you name the famous movie where this saying came from????

  • Begin with a Cherry Cobbler card base 5 ½ x 8 ½”. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • Layer a piece of 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White to the card base.
  • Cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler that measures 1 ¾ x 4 and a 1 ½ x 4” piece of the Classic Christmas Designer Series paper with a Shaded Spruce design and layer together.
  • Adhere the designer strip on the left side of the card leaving a small showing of the Whisper White cardstock.
  • Stamp the saying on Whisper White using Shaded Spruce ink and cut it out using the Layering Circle dies. Color in the bells with Real Red blends. Then cut another scalloped square from Shaded Spruce cardstock and layer together.
  • Adhere the squares to the designer strip, placing it at a slight angle.
  • Cut out some bells in Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler using the Sounds of the Season dies (inventory is very low on this item) and arrange the bells on your card adhering them with some mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Hey all, here is another card that I would like to share from my dear and long time friend Cherie Masters! So blessed that you moved closer to me and we can craft together more often……just like old times, though we are not old! LOL

Cherie made this card using the Joy of Sharing All Inclusive Kit, which is on Sale for $24.50 while supplies last!

Holly for the Holidays

Today’s card is all about the Holly and features the Gleaming Christmas stamp set. Since I seem to gravitate to the ornaments in this set, I thought it was time for a little holly! If you like this set, hurry and order as the inventory is very low.

  • Begin with a Very Vanilla card base 5 ½ x 8 ½”. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • Layer a piece of 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Cherry Cobbler to the card base.
  • Cut a 3 ¾ x 5” piece of Very Vanilla and layer onto the Cherry Cobbler.
  • Using the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine and the Layering Circle Dies, cut a Cherry Cobbler scalloped circle.
  • Stamp a greeting, I chose Merry Christmas, in Cherry Cobbler ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out using an oval from the Stitched Oval Shapes.
  • From the Christmas Gleaming Designer Series Paper, cut a piece that measures 1 ¾ x 3 ¾” and adhere across the Very Vanilla layer. Layer the Cherry Cobbler circle and the oval with the greeting to the designer series strip.
  • Stamp the holly several times and color with the leaves Old Olive Light and Dark blends and the holly with the Real Red blends.
  • Fussy cut the holly leaves.  If you use our Paper Snips, this job will take no time at all.
  • Punch a few Mossy Meadow sprigs using the Sprig Punch and layer with the holly around the greeting and the Cherry Cobbler accent circle.  I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals on a few of the holly leaves to give it a bit more dimension.
  • Once the card is assembled, stamp a few snow accents in Cherry Cobbler ink.

Before you leave today, here is another amazing Christmas card I received from a fellow stamper and wonderful friends, Sarah Condit. Sarah, thanks for sharing your stamping creativity with us!

You might not be able to tell from the picture, but the ornament is actually made to be 3D and detachable, I think!

At least that is what I did and it is now hanging on my tree. Thanks Sarah! You are so creative. Here is a picture of the ornament on my tree.

And speaking of creative ornaments, here is one from my good friend Laura Rossmann who is very artsy and talented in ways far beyond me!

Laura made this ornament from some Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. I hope these projects inspire you. Enjoy!

  • Begin with a Crumb Cake card base 5 ½ x 8 ½”.

  • Cut two pieces of red striped paper from the Playful Pets Designer Series pack- ¾ x 5¼”, ¾ x 4” and adhere them to the red panel to form the look of a wrapped present.
  • Stamp the bow stamp of your choice in Real Red ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the Gift Bow Builder punch. Adhere to the paper ribbon with some Mini Stamin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the A Very Merry Christmas greeting in Real Red ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

I hope this cards inspires you to get out that wrapping paper.

But before you go, here is a real treat! I received this Christmas card from one of my team members, Mary Steinau. Isn’t it beautiful! Thanks Mary for sharing your talent with all of us.

It looks like Mary used some of the Feels Like Frost Designer Series paper and some Silver Foil sheets to cut out the snowflakes from the Snowflake Wishes Bundle. I love the added snowflake splendor ribbon and the way she heat embossed the tag with silver embossing powder. Very festive!!!

I hope you will stop back by tomorrow for some more crafting fun! Who knows maybe I will get lucky and receive another Christmas card to share with you.

If you have any crafting inspiration to share, please feel free to post it on my Facebook page.

Inking Royal Blog Hop-Happy New Year!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate New Year’s Day, a special day to start anew and prepare for the coming year. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Today’s card features the Life is Beautiful stamp set on page 51 of the Aug-Dec Holiday catalog.

  • Begin with a Poppy Parade card base, tent fold: 4 ¼ x 11”, score at 5 ½”.
  • Add a 4 x 5 ¼” layer of Basic Black to the card front.
  • Cut a 3 ¾ x 5” piece of Seaside Spray and stamp the tree in Early Espresso on the Seaside Spray panel.
  • Stamp the bird house to one of the tree limbs in Soft Suede. I masked the bird and stamped them in Real Red.  You can also color the birds directly to the stamp with a Real Red marker.  TIP:  Don’t forget to remove your mask before stamping.
  • To create the falling snow, stamp the snowflakes in VersaMark ink and heat emboss using White Embossing Powder.  Repeat the same method for the snow drift around the tree.
  • Wrap a piece of Poppy Parade ribbon from All the Trimmings Ribbon pack around the Seaside Spray panel.
  • The Happy New Year greeting is from Itty Bitty Christmas.  I masked off Merry Christmas before stamping in Poppy Parade ink.  TIP: Again, don’t forget to take off the mask before stamping on Whisper White cardstock.
  • Cut out the greeting using one of the scalloped ovals from the Layering Oval dies.  Cut a smooth oval from the same die set out of Poppy Parade cardstock and layer the greeting on top.
  • Adhere with several mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the top of the ribbon.
  • For the inside of the card, layer a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamp the greeting from Life is Beautiful in Memento Black ink.
  • Stamp a few stars in Poppy Parade ink and Seaside Spray Ink.

I hope you have a Blessed New Year and are able to celebrate in style wherever you may be. Thank you for stopping by today.

Say Good-bye to Whisper White!

I know it is so sad and somewhat shocking because Whisper White has been around forever! Unfortunately because of the Coronavirus the supplier that produced Whisper White cardstock products has permanently closed.

Stampin’ Up! did not receive much of a notice about the closure, but rest assured they have taken care of us and have been working around the clock to find a replacement. Keep in mind this closure only affects Whisper White and not our other cardstocks.

Here is a list of Whisper White products that will be going out of production and are available now while supplies last.  Please note there is an order limit of 2 per item per order.

  • #100730 – Whisper White 8-1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock
  • #140272 – Whisper White 8-1/2″ x 11″ Thick Cardstock
  • #124302 – Whisper White 12″ x 12″ Cardstock
  • #107301 – Whisper White Medium Envelopes
  • #131527 – Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes
  • #145829 – Whisper White 3″ x 3″ Envelopes
  • #149710 – Assorted Memories & More Cards & Envelopes

And now let me introduce our new friend……Basic White!

The quality of the new Basic White has passed the Stampin’ UP! quality test and that is indeed good news. I am confident that it will perform well and soon we will not be able to craft without it! LOL

Here’s a video from Stampin’ Up! to showcase this new product and how it compares with our old friend, Whisper White!

If you have any questions, please reach out to me. I am always happy to help. Tomorrow you are in for a real treat as it is time for another Inking Royal Blog Hop with Brian King! I hope you will join us!

Gaudete Sunday – Rejoice! Sunday Wisdom

Today is the third Sunday of Advent and time to Rejoice! Christmas is almost here. If you are like me, then you love this time of year with all the glorious lights. It is also a time to reflect on God’s unconditional love. Mother Teresa describes it best:

“Whatever brings us true joy, whether the small joys of each day or the greatest joys in life, has its source in God, even if this does not seem immediately obvious. This is because God is a communion of eternal love, he is infinite joy that does not remain closed in on itself, but expands to embrace all whom God loves and who love him. God created us in his image out of love, in order to shower his love upon us and to fill us with his presence and grace.

God wants us to share in his own divine and eternal joy, and he helps us to see that the deepest meaning and value of our lives lie in being accepted, welcomed and loved by him. Whereas we sometimes find it hard to accept others, God offers us an unconditional acceptance which enables us to say: “I am loved; I have a place in the world and in history; I am personally loved by God. If God accepts me and loves me and I am sure of this, then I know clearly and with certainty that it is a good thing that I am alive”. ~Mother Teresa

Leftovers Made Crafty

Leftovers are not just for dinner anymore. Today I have two cards for you and both were created using the leftovers from two different Stampin’ UP! kits.

First card features the Joy of Sharing All Inclusive Kit! Here are the actual kit samples:

And here is my card made with leftovers:

All of the supplies needed to create this card came from the leftover pieces in the Joy of Sharing Kit. The Gold Foil is what is left when you punch out the frames. I squared up the Gold Foil sheet and dry embossed it using the Tin Tile embossing folder.

For a very clean and simple look on the inside, I simply stamped the greeting from the kit in Memento Black Ink. Included with this kit are some very cute pine cones which you could certainly stamp on the inside as well.

I used those very pinecones on the inside of the second card so keep scrolling!

More leftovers on the menu! Card# 2 was created from using the odds and ends left from the Tag Buffet Kit.

Here are some samples of the tags, and it even comes with the cute little box, so your gift is ready to go!

And here is my card, starring the leftover tree!

The leftover is the tree from the tag punch outs. I dry embossed the cherry cobbler cardstock using the Winter Snow folder and the plaid is from the Plaid Tidings Designer Series pack.

I added a few Red Rhinestones to light up the tree! I created the tree stump by punching out the small rectangle typically used for the center of a bow. I used Early Expresso, but Soft Suede or Cinnamon Cider would also be great choices.

The Merry Christmas is stamped in Shaded Spruce ink on a piece of white tag leftover from the Tag Buffet kit.

  • Card Base: Shaded Spruce 5 ½ x 8 ½”
  • Cherry Cobbler: 1-7/8 x 3 ½” and 1-5/8 x 1-7/8, adhere to card opposite of each other
  • Plaid Tiding Designer Series Paper: 1 7/8 x 3 ½ and 1-5/8 x 1-7/8, adhere to card opposite each other
  • Christmas Tree stump: Early Expresso cardstock-Gift Bow Punch Builder
  • Christmas Tree: Cut out that was leftover from the Joy of Sharing card kit
  • Red Rhinestones: Randomly add embellishments to tree
  • Merry Christmas: White piece leftover from the Tag Buffet kit, stamped in Shaded Spruce ink with the Merry Christmas from the Joy of Sharing Kit

The inside is a 4 x 5 ½” layer of Whisper White cardstock.  The greeting from the Joy of Sharing Kit is stamped in Shaded Spruce ink. The pinecones are stamped in Soft Suede ink and the evergreen leaves in Shaded Spruce ink.

I hope these cards will inspire you to use your leftover stamped images, as well as, those scrap pieces of Designer Series Paper. Stop back tomorrow for more crafting fun. If you would like to place an order, please use the Host code: URBMWZNY

Tis the Season to be Jolly

Yes my friends there are only there are only 13 days until Christmas, but there is still time to get some of your favorite Holiday sets before they are gone! My card today features the Christmas Gleaming Variety Bundle, which includes the stamp set, punch pack and designer series paper.

  • Begin with a Pretty Peacock card base and add a 4 x 5 ¼” layer of Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • From the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series paper punch two ornaments from the larger ornament in the Gleaming Ornament Punch pack and glue them to the right side of the card.
  • To create the copper top of the ornament, punch two tops from the Copper Foil Sheets using the larger ornament punch. Add some gold trim to each ornament.
  • Adhere a ½ x 5 ½” piece of the Gleaming Designer Series Paper along the bottom of the card.
  • Cut out a scalloped oval from Pretty Peacock using the Layering Oval Dies. Cut a coordinating oval from Very Vanilla cardstock and stamp the greeting in Pretty Peacock ink.

TIP #1: I masked off the “&” sign on the stamp, well not really, I forgot-hence the bling covering the “&” sign! LOL….So, add bling or mask it is totally up to you, but remember there are no mistakes in stamping, only creative opportunities!

TIP #2: I colored my bling with the Bronze Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker.  Now I realize that this bling might be retired, but when taking advantage of creative opportunities we have to use what is in our craft stash, Right???

And of ‘course let’s not neglect the inside!

  • Layer a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock onto the card base.
  • Stamp the greeting from Itty Bitty Christmas in Pretty Peacock ink.
  • Add another ornament punched from the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper.
  • Add a gold trim bow and you are ready for the Holidays!

I hope you all enjoyed today’s card creation and the added creative opportunity. Be bold and go create something beautiful to bless others with today!

If you would like to order any of these or other stamping supplies, I would appreciate your order. As a reminder the current host code is always available on my blog! Host Code: URBMWZNY

You Are My Hoot

So here is the Christmas card I made for my beloved, though it will not be surprise because he subscribes to my blog! Hee Hee! But is it the thought that counts, Right

  • I began with a Crumb Cake card base and added a 2 ½ x 4” piece of the Crumb Cake plaid from our Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the bottom of the card leaving an even border around the DSP.
  • Using the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine and the Layering Square Dies, I cut a square if Whisper White and a scalloped square of Cherry Cobbler.
  • To the white I stamped the two owls on the branch and colored them with some Stampin’ Blends (Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler) and layered it on the Cherry Cobbler with some Stampin’ Seal.  TIP: When coloring with Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers) always use the Memento Black ink to prevent bleeding.
  • For the greeting accent, I cut a 1 ¼ x 2 5/8” of Cherry Cobbler and used the Stitched Rectangles to cut the Whisper White for the actual saying, stamped in Memento Black

The inside is very simple. With no additional layers, I stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink directly on the Crumb Cake card base using the Merry Christmas saying from the bundle.
