On this card I also used the NEW Double Oval Punch which I think is going to be one of my go to punches. I love the cool ripple edging and how easily they layer together.

  • Begin with a Basic White card base 5½ x 8½”. Score in landscape position at 4¼”.
  • Using the NEW Sweet Strawberry Bundle stamp the strawberry outline in memento black in and punch out with the Strawberry Builder punch included with this bundle, repeat for a total of three strawberries.
  • Stamp the strawberry stem on Granny Apple Green cardstock three times, punch out and layer on top of the strawberries.
  • From the NEW True Love Designer Series Paper pack, cut the striped black and white pattern paper at 2 x 5½.  TIP: Be sure the stripes are going vertically when you cut the 5½” side.
  • Layer a piece of Basic Black cardstock ¾ x 5½” along the top of the True Love Designer Series paper.
Next using the NEW Double Oval punch, punch the rippled edge from Real Red cardstock and the smooth oval from white.  Stamp the greeting on the white oval and layer on the red.
  • Place two Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the red oval and adhere to the Basic Black strip.
  • Arrange the three strawberries on the upper left of the card gluing two directly to the cardstock and use a Stampin’ Dimensional to pop up the third strawberry in the middle.
  • Add a Red Rhinestone gem to the greeting and randomly place two more gems on the card front.

Check out the matching Berry Blessing set and the Berry Delightful Designer Series paper pack that coordinates with this set. Ice Cream Bundle is another set that pairs well with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle. After all, who doesn’t like strawberries and ice cream right?

Well, to be honest I would rather have chocolate on my ice cream than strawberries, but you have to admit, these strawberries make a super sweet card.

Celebrate the Love and Mercy of Our Lord-Sunday Wisdom

We celebrated Christmas, the birth of our Lord just a week ago and now we enter into a New Year, with the hope of the Magi.  If we look closely we will find the light of our Savior and if we allow ourselves to enter into the light we just may find more peace and calm.

When we work together, pray together, love one another and forgive each other, the light of Christ enters us and is dispelled out into the darkness.  One light can make a difference.  One candle can light our way, but the Lord asks us to unite with one another regardless of our race, religion or financial status to bring that light to all.  He wants us to put aside our selfishness and our prideful attitudes to shine just a bit more brightly.

So join with the Magi and ask the Holy Spirit to keep purifying us as we strive to bring the light of love into our world.  When we all unite as one, our problems seem more manageable and our hearts are lifted because we know we do not have to go it alone.  The Lord is here for all of us and his Mercy is endless.  Be filled this day and this year with hope so that we can fill the world with His glory.

Lovely You for 2021

Sometimes we just need to make and send a card for no reason at all. I send a lot of cards to people in my parish community who have not been able to get out much and have heard from a lot of them how our cards bring joy to their day.

Today’s card features the Lovely You stamp set from the Annual Catalog (p. 22) with Misty Moonlight, Just Jade and Bumblebee from the 2020-2022 In-Colors. It is one of those cards that we send……just because.

  • Begin with a Whisper White card base 5½ x 8½”. Score in landscape position at 4¼”.
  • Layer a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Misty Moonlight on the card front.
  • Cut a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8” piece of Just Jade cardstock and using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine dry emboss with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder and layer on top of the Misty Moonlight panel.
  • Cut a 2 ½ x 5 1/8” of Whisper White cardstock and tear along one side. Randomly stamp the leaf stamp in Just Jade ink along the torn edge. Add Bumblebee and Misty Moonlight flowers. Layer the Whisper White on the Just Jade cardstock.
  • Using the NEW Double Oval punch, punch out a Misty Moonlight scalloped oval.
  • Next punch out a small white oval and stamp the greeting in Misty Moonlight ink. Layer on the Misty Moonlight scalloped oval and adhere to card using some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside, stamp the one leaf with Just Jade and two flower, one in Misty Moonlight ink and the other in Bumblebee.

I hope this card will inspire you to send to that someone in your life, just because!

A Berry Simple Thank You!

Today’s card is a sneak peek at the NEW Sweet Strawberry stamp set featured in the JJ2021 mini catalog and the Berry Blessings stamp set featured in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. Berry Blessings. The Berry Delight Designer Series paper pack and the Berry Blessing set is FREE with a $100 purchase beginning on January 5, 2021.

I created this card for my daughters totally “sweet” roommate to thank her for some delicious homemade granola. It is always a blessing with your children have great friends!

  • Begin with a Pacific Point card base 5½ x 8½”. Score in landscape position at 4¼”.
  • Cut a 2 x 5½” strip of the Berry Delightful Designer Series Pack and cut again at 1½”.  You should have a 1½” and a ½” strip.
  • Flip the ½” strip to coordinate with the larger strip and adhere across the center of the card.
  • Using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the Layering circle dies, cut a scallop circle from Night of Navy cardstock and a plain circle from White cardstock. Adhere the white circle to the Night of Navy.
  • Using the Sweet Strawberry bundle stamp the strawberry in Real Red, the outline of the strawberry and the leaves in Memento Black and the solid leaves in Granny Apple Green and punch out using the Strawberry Builder Punch.
  • TIP: I made a template for the Strawberry Builder Punch and placed the template in my Stamparatus. Then I matched up the desired images using the template. Once I had my stamps aligned with the template, I used a piece of white cardstock to punch out all images. Then one at at time I placed my punched images back into the template and stamped with the desired color. I found this method easier and quicker the traditional stamp and punch. Another advantage to stamping this way is that you waste less cardstock every time you punch.
  • Layer the strawberries and leaves on the white circle and the circles onto the strip of designer series paper.
  • Stamp the Thank You sentiment in either Night of Navy or Memento Black ink.
  • For the inside add a 4 x 5 ½” layer of white cardstock and stamp the sentiment in Pacific Point ink.
  • Using the berries from the Berry Blessings set, stamp the outline in Memento Black and the solid in Pacific Point ink.

This was a very easy thank you card that took no time at all. I love the way these two sets pair perfectly together. The Sweet Strawberry set will be available for purchase beginning January 5th. Also start making you list, for those FREE Sale-A-Bration sets! If your online order is less than $150, please use the Host Code: SM7SJPZZ

The Holy Family – Sunday Wisdom

Today is the Feast of the Holy Family and what a great time to give thanks for our own families. Sure we have all had our share of happy and sad times, but I think that is what makes a family holy, the ability to offer love and understanding in good times and in bad.

Even the Holy Family had it’s share of struggles, but they never gave up. They had to deal with Herod’s jealous and murderous rage, the secret flight to Egypt, that could not have been easy, and the resettlement in Nazareth, away from family and friends! But again, they never gave up and they persevered in love.

No family is perfect and all families face hardships, but it is how we handle these things that make the difference. It is how we draw strength from our Heavenly Father that gets us through the tough times. So let us all pray to be more kind and loving this year. Let us practice that selfless love that bears all things, hopes all things and forgives all things.

And on this Feast of the Holy Family, let us pray for all families to be united God’s perfect love and give thanks for one another as we humbly accept the mercy of our Lord and pray for peace this coming year.

Have a Blessed Sunday, I hope you will stop back tomorrow for some more crafting fun!
