Five Minute Cards

Merry Christmas ~Five Minute Friday

Happy Friday all…..I know it is not even Halloween yet, but I can’t help myself. This new Merry Christmas stamp is so great. It will allow you to create quick and easy Christmas cards. I am pairing this greeting with a pack of our new holiday designer series paper, Elegant Pine Snowflakes-Item #166066.

Today’s card did not even take 5 minutes. I know, right! I began with an Early Espresso card base and added a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of the Elegant Pine Snowflake DSP. I stamped the Merry Christmas on a 2-3/8 x 4-1/8 piece of Basic White. I added a 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Early Espresso. I added a strip 1/2 x 4-1/8 piece of Shaded Spruce the top and to the bottom of the greeting.

I hope you enjoyed today’s holiday card. It is never too early to start designing your Christmas cards! Have a blessed week and Happy Stamping!

Spotlight On Nature ~Five Minute Friday

I have another fun summertime five minute card for you today. I created a super simple card using the Spotlight on Nature bundle and some Summer Splash cardstock. I love this cardstock almost as much as the name. I don’t know why it just makes me happy. I hope this card will make you smile today.

I started with a white card, I know it is hard to see in the photo, but trust me you want to begin with a Basic White cardbase. I then added a panel of the Summer Splash. I ran it through the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine with one of the dies from Texture Notes. I love these dies. They just add a little pizzazz to each project.

I stamped the circle from Elements of Text in Smoky Slate ink on a panel of Basic White. I added the flower image from Spotlight on Nature w/Memento Black ink and colored the flowers with the Summer Splash alcohol markers. Remember if you don’t have these markers, you can use the regular ink pad and an aqua painter brush filled with alcohol. You don’ t need to color in the entire flower, just add a splash of color. I added a few dots w/Memento Black ink and cropped the image with one of the circles from the Spotlight on Nature dies. These are gorgeous circles that will enhance any card project. It totally encourage you to try them out.

I wanted a little more depth, so I added some Summer Splash color around the circle words with a blending brush and then attached my circle to my card front. You can use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach if you want even more depth to your card. To finish off my card, I stamped the thinking of you from The Right Words w/Memento Black ink and then added a little bling.

I hope you enjoy today’s card creation and will check out the rectangle dies from Textured Notes and the circles from Spotlight on Nature. Happy Stamping!

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Summer Sunflowers ~ Five Minute Friday

Wow, the new Sunflower 3-D Embossing folder is sure to make a great impression with your handmade crafts. This large embossing folders has gorgeous details. It features a stunning sunflower design that will add a touch of nature to any paper crafting project. Today I created a card using the reverse image of the emboss. So instead of using the raised image, flip it over and add some color.

I created my color by swiping the Misty Moonlight ink pad across the debossed image and wow, it is gorgeous. The card base is Misty Moonlight and the thinking of you is from Simply Said. I added color to the edges of the tag by dragging it in the ink pad as well.

I plan to create a few more cards using this technique and will feature it in a future Make It Monday video. Fingers crossed I will have those cards completed and ready for the July 28th Make it Monday video. Be sure to stop back!

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Florals In Bloom-Five Minute Friday

It’s a five minute birthday kind of Friday. I am using the new Florals in Bloom designer series paper pack to create a fast and fabulous card. I began with a Melon Mambo card base and added a 5-3/*8 x 4-1/8 panel of Basic White. My designer series paper measures 4 x 5-1/4 and in attached to the Basic white and then the card front.

I added a strip of Melon Mambo (1/2 x 4-1/4) to create a faux ribbon look. The greeting is from Unbounded Love and stamped with Melon Mambo ink. I used the Heartfelt Hexagon punch to crop the greeting and added it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add a little bling and your five minute card is complete. Again, this is the Florals in Bloom designer series paper pack and it is gorgeous. Have fun creating this card layout. Happy Stamping!

You Are Remarkable ~ Five Minute Friday

Happy 4th of July! I hope you are all enjoying your freedom. I know I am so I wanted to give a shout out to all our military friends for keeping us save. We so appreciate you! If you have plans with your family this weekend, then you are in luck because today’s five minute card is super quick giving you plenty of time to get those hamburgers on the grill.

I am using the online exclusive, You Are Remarkable, stamp set. This card is super easy and them most time consuming part is the background that I created using the tiny, but interesting, image in this set. Here is a time saving tip: You don’t need to stamp the entire background. Since you are placing the flower image over the background, you only need to stamp around the edges. I made a light mark using a pencil on the four corners of my image for the front, that way I did not have to waste my time stamping images that aren’t going to show.

I used Basic Beige ink to stamp the borders of my card front. The Basic White fancy border was cut using the second to the largest die from Textured Notes dies. I stamped my flower image and greeting with Pecan Pie on a Basic White that measures 3 x 4-1/2. I used a blending brush and some Crumb Cake ink to add a little dimension around all the edges and then stamped the dotted image in crumb cake ink, stamping off to get a lighter image around the blended border. Add a few butterflies for your bling and you have a beautiful card to share with someone who needs a little love.

I hope you enjoy creating with this set. Because it is a two step set, no coloring is required. I used Darling Duckling for the flower and Old Olive for the leaves. Happy Fourth of July and Happy Stamping!

Until next time, be blessed, Renae
