Taken, Blessed, Broken and Given-Sunday Wisdom

Today we are reminded once again of the great gift Jesus has given us in the Eucharist. When Christians gather to receive the Eucharist, we see Christ in everyone and how we are who we are, but we also hope to be more. We want to prepare our hearts to receive Jesus so that we can become His hands and feet, His eyes and ears and yes, His Most Sacred Heart, so we can be Christ to others.

The Lord has given us all plenty of opportunities to re-unite our hearts and will with His.  We are all called to experience God’s overwhelming love and mercy. Through His grace we are redeemed, worthy and loved.

Yes, we are broken, but as Henri Nouwen writes, ”the words ‘taken’, ‘blessed’, ‘broken’, and ‘given’ summarize our lives as Christians because we are all called to become bread for the world, bread that is taken, blessed, broken and given.”

May the Lord be with all of you this day and strengthen each of you, today and always.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Art Gallery-Thinking of You Flowers

If you are like me then you love looking at the catalog for all the amazing card designs. Today my card, created with my crafting friend this past weekend, was CASED from the January – June catalog. If you are not familiar with the term CASE, it is what we crafters lovingly refer to as Copy And Share Everything.

While this card was not copied exactly, it is close. We used the Art Gallery Bundle. See if you can spot the difference.

Supplies

  • Basic White Cardstock- 5½ x 8½ (card base), 1×3, 4¼ x 5
  • Highland Heather Cardstock- 4 x 5¼
  • Highland Heather Ink
  • Gorgeous Grape Ink
  • Granny Apple Green Ink
  • Art Gallery Bundle
  • Parisian Flourish 3-D Embossing Folder
  • Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive or Liquid Glue

Directions

  • Score Basic White cardstock in landscape position at 4¼.  Fold & burnish to create card base.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to dry emboss the Highland Heather cardstock using the Parisian Flourish folder and attach to card front.
  • On the larger white panel stamp the floral images in Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green and use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to cut out images with coordinating dies.

I think the designers at Stampin’ Up! are amazingly talented, so of course I don’t have any problem copying them. After all the highest compliment is when someone copies your crafting right? When copying, always give credit where credit is due. Happy Crafting and Happy Casing!

Happy Blessed Trinity Sunday-Sunday Wisdom!

Praise God for our baptism in the Triune God! It is true we are all baptized in the Trinity and in doing so we not only commit ourselves to Jesus , but we allow Him to wash away our sins.

The sign of the cross can be a simple prayer. When my children were little and when I taught school, I thought it was an important reminder to say this simple prayer whenever we make the sign of the cross.

In the name of the Father, who created me…..and of the Son, who saved me…..and in the Holy Spirit who guides me.

Today on Trinity Sunday, let the sign of the Cross and this outward sign of God’s love fill you with hope. As an adopted child of God, you are a member of the body of Christ and you are loved! You are a temple of the Holy Spirit, so trust in His love and guidance.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae
