Soft Blending ~Five Minute Friday

Happy Friday! So glad it is the weekend and a holiday weekend at that! It is awesome to have Monday off and I hope to spend the day in my craft room. I hope you too can spend time crafting with family and friends this weekend.

If you do, try out this quick and easy card. I know it doesn’t look like a 5 minute card, but that is the beauty. It does not take a long time but yet looks like you invested yourself to create something beautiful. You only need a handful off supplies. So grab some black and white cardstock, a few blending brushes, an oval die and inks of your choice. I used Gorgeous Grape, Balmy Blue, Pretty in Pink, and Calypso Coral. Oh yes, you will also need some Memento Black ink for the image and greeting. I used the stamp sets Gallery Blooms and Simply Said.

To create the oval background, I first cut an oval from a 4 x 5-1/4 cardstock, any color will work you are just making a masking template. Next, secure the template over a Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 piece of cardstock and use your blending brushes to create the background above. I started with the Gorgeous Grape and Balmy Blue at the top. Then I added some Pretty in Pink and Calypso Coral for the bottom. Play around with different colors to create your own unique background.

Here are the stamp sets I used:
