Holly Jolly Wishes & Stitched Stars-Make It Monday #29

It is time again for another Make it Monday tutorial. If you love stars you are going to love today’s video. Not only do both of these cards use the same star dies, they also share greetings from Holly Jolly Wishes and Designer Series Paper from the Tidings of Christmas paper pack in the July -December 2021 mini catalog.

I love the soft look from the Soft Succulent cardstock and when you pair it with Evening Evergreen, it is so elegant. I cannot wait to experiment with these colors using the Evening Elegant bundle.

Empty and Little-Sunday Wisdom

When we empty ourselves and become little, we allow God to fill us and we become so much more.  John and James kind of missed the point that Jesus came to serve, not to be served.  Jesus wanted James, John and all his followers, us included, to understand that His glory was most fulfilled when he emptied himself for others.

So what does that kind of humility and glory look like?  How can we imitate Christ’s love? As we strive to humbly serve others, let us always live in the hope of the resurrection and recall how God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son for you and for me.

So today, let us be empty and little, so we can be filled and blessed!

Snowman Season-Favorite Things Friday

Wow, there are only 70 days until Christmas, that is just a little over two months! I absolutely love Christmas and one of may favorite holiday decorations is snowmen. They are so stinkin’ cute!

I was super thrilled when Stampin’ Up! decided to carry over the Snowman Season set and these adorable little snow creatures are the star of today’s Favorite Things Friday!

Snowman Season 150458 $18

Cutting Measurements

All Measurement=inches  CS=Cardstock DSP=Designer Series Paper  Landscape Position=Long side   Portrait Position=short side

Supplies

  • Basic White CS- 5½ x 8½, (card base), 3 ¾ x 5 (2)
  • Smoky Slate CS- 4 x 5¼
  • Snowman Season Stamp Set
  • Artistically Inked Stamp Set
  • Smoky Slate Ink
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Picture This Dies
  • Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/Liquid Glue

Directions

  • Score card base in landscape position (aka longer side) at 4¼. Fold and burnish to create card.
  • Layer Smoky Slate CS to card front.
  • Stamp marble image from Artistically Inked in Smoky Slate ink over one piece of 3 ¾ x 5 white panel and use the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine to crop out circles using the Picture This Dies.
  • Stamp snowmen in Memento Black ink on second piece of 3 ¾ x 5 white panel so they are peeking out the circles.  I used a pencil to lightly draw around each circle so that I would know exactly where to place the snowmen.  Stamp, color and erase your pencil lines.
  • Layer the circle white panel to the snowman white panel and attach both to card front.
  • Decorate inside as desired

I really do love the Picture This Dies. I was thinking of creating a card using the Back On Your Feet set. It would make a super sweet get well card. Stay tuned for that in the next few weeks or so. Until than, create something beautiful and be awesome!

A Peachy Happy Birthday!

I know it is fall, but the weather has been so warm lately it still feels like summer, at least here in St. Louis. So I figured why not embrace it with a quick and easy birthday card featuring the You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper pack.

This 12 x12 pack of paper is gorgeous! Just see for yourself.

You’re A Peach 155686 $11.50

I chose to use the larger peaches on the white background and paired it with a Calypso Coral card base. I added a layer of Old Olive and then used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to create a double border.

The greeting is stamped in Calypso Coral ink using some of the images from the Biggest Wish stamp set. I created the double border by using two of the Stitched dies that nestle into each other. I cut the Calypso Coral border is as a frame and the white rectangle fits inside of it.

I am finding more and more ways to utilize these great dies and love how they dress up the outside of a card. Be sure to use the Stamparatus to add the greeting in Calypso Coral ink, it makes it so much easier.

I hope you have fun creating! Perhaps today the weather will be a bit cooler. Happy Stamping…..

Stinkin’ Cute Halloween Card-Make It Monday #28

Today’s tutorial is a super easy but seriously cute Halloween card. It was created with a Basic Gray card base and some added layers of Pumpkin Pie and Highland Heather cardstock. I used the Frightful Tag Dies as well as the Festive and Bright stamp set.

The Boo! was stamped in Memento Black and is from the Banner Year stamp set, which might be my all time favorite fall stamp set. I also used a few stamps from the Banner Year set on the inside. I hope this inspires you to create some spooky, but fun cards for this Halloween.

Supplies and Instructions

I don’t typically send a lot of Halloween cards, but the Frightful Tag dies are so stinkin’ cute! And while I really hate spiders, there is something adorable about this simple black spider web. Join me Wednesday for another Weekly Wednesday video and next week for another Make it Monday!

A Higher Calling-Sunday Wisdom

In today’s gospel Jesus teaches his disciples about the value of surrender and detachment.  The rich man has a sincere desire to follow Jesus and have eternal life. Jesus values this, understands him and then calls him to be more, give more and follow completely.

Wealth and material things are not bad, after all Jesus permits them, but then again when our attachment to possession gets in the way of living more like Jesus then there is a problem. After all Matthew the tax collector was very wealthy when Jesus called him to give up his job and follow.

Jesus wants us all to break free of whatever is holding us back from living as disciples of Christ.  He wants us to find freedom through detachment and surrender so we can truly focus on loving God and one another.

What is our Lord asking you to let go of today? What distracts you from that high calling of freely living as one of his disciples?

Lord help me to surrender whatever is distracting me from you.

Daisy Garden Sympathy Favorite Things Friday

Happy Friday! I hope you had a blessed week and are ready to do some crafting this weekend. Today, I thought I would share a card I created with one of my favorite background stamps, Daisy Garden. While sending a sympathy card is never fun, it is important to let the people we care about know we are thinking of them and what better way then sending a hand-made card.

This card was stamped in the white craft ink and heat embossed with some white embossing powder. You can find the powder and heat tool on page 128 in the 2021-2022 annual catalog.

  • White Embossing Powders
