Give Glory to Your Son

“Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you, just as you gave him authority over all people, so that your son may give eternal life to all you gave him. Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.”

Sounds simple right? Well, it is true that God ultimately wants us to be with him for all eternity, it is also true that sometimes on our journey of faith we can become burdened with anxiety, sadness and fear, causing us to struggle along the way. While in our hearts we long to be with God and that brings us great joy, it also means there will be suffering.

Tomorrow, we will lay my mother-in-law to rest. She is now with God for all eternity and while that brings my husband and I great joy, we are also sad to no longer have her with us. We did not imagine losing both of our moms in one year and yet, the Lord’s timing is not our timing. So what do we do? We pray, we trust and we continue to love, giving all the glory to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Yes, there will be more joy and more sadness ahead, but as we continue to journey our way in faith, we know that one day we will all be reunited again.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Nature’s Prints-Hello There-Favorite Things Friday!

Happy Friday! While I love the Nature’s Prints stamp set and the look of Ginkgo leaves, I would never want one of these trees in my yard. Did you know that the Ginkgo tree is one of the oldest living tree species in the world. This tree is native to China. The leaves are very pretty, but they smell horrible.

Today’s card features one of my favorite new colors, Pecan Pie. I layered a panel of Mossy Meadow and then stamped on a 3¾ x 5 panel of white with Mossy Meadow leaves and Pecan Pie splatter. The greeting is stamped in Pecan Pie and layered on a 1 x 2″ panel of Pecan Pie.

To add a bit of dimension, I added some Mossy Meadow leaves cropped from the coordinating dies behind the greeting using a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. Happy Stamping!

Hope and Prayer-Simple Dove

One little stamp from the Hope and Prayer stamp set is what created the background on my white panel today. I began with a Night of Navy card base and on a 3¾ x 5 white panel I stamped the floral image in Night of Navy Ink to create 6 lines as a background panel.

I used a Blending Brush to add Night of Navy ink on all edges of the white panel. To another white panel (2½ x 3¾) stamp the dove and greeting and use blending brush to add color on all edges.

I really like the way this little stamp creates a background that looks like a piece of Designer Series Paper. Change up the colors and create a variety of Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday! Petal Park Flowers

Last week I posted a sympathy card using the Petal Park stamp set and Petal Park Builder punch and today, I am posting a much happier card. This is the birthday card I make for my niece. Her birthday was in April and so I thought these flowers were just perfect for her card.

I used one of the new colors in our main line, Bubble Bath pink. I think this color is so soft and welcoming. It is great for a birthday, anniversary or thinking of you card, but I can also see using it for a baby card. I have to admit I cheated and used one of our retired inks, Soft Succulent. To be honest, I had already created the card and then realized Soft Succulent retired. Oh well, I decided to post it for you anyway.

In addition to Petal Park, I also used the greetings from Lighting the Way and Something Fancy. If you have not already added Bubble Bath to your ink pad collection, now is the time. I really do think you will love how soft it looks on your card creations.

Happy Mother’s Day-Sunday Wisdom

Today, we honor all mothers and give thanks for their willingness to bring us into this life. We honor those who are still living, those who have passed from this earthly life and those women who while they may not be our biological mother, have supported and loved us unconditionally.

As many of you know I lost my mother in June, so this is my first Mother’s Day without my mom, but I feel her love every day and thank God for the grace she was to me and many others while on this earth.

This month we also lost my mother-in-law, who was also a gift to so many.  So while my husband and I are sad not to have our mother’s present, we know that Mary, our spiritual is rejoicing with them in Heaven.  So whether your mom is with you or not, let us celebrate the sacrifices and love of all mothers. We ask the Blessed Mother to watch over us teach us how to be love for one another.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Petal Park Sympathy

Well folks, another Sympathy card. I guess some weeks are just like that. Luckily the Petal Park set and builder punch is a great choice to lift someone’s spirit. I love these flowers and the punch make it so quick and easy. Click here for tips on how to stamp and punch perfect images every time.

While sending sympathy cards is not my favorite thing, flowers are and of course there are a lot of flower choices in the new 2023-2024 AC (annual catalog). This card could easily be turned into a birthday, anniversary or thinking of you card.

I started with a Highland Heather card base and added a Basic White panel. I then stamped the leave images with Granny Apple Green ink, followed by Memento Black for the matching detailed stamp, directly to the white panel. On a scrap piece of Basic White I lined up my stamps with the punch (click here for video on that) and stamped the flowers in Highland Heather ink and the again the detailed flowers with Memento Black ink. Punch and arrange flowers as desired.

The greeting is from Something Fancy and is stamped in Memento Black. I first tried stamping the leaves in Garden Green and then Old Olive, but they seemed too dark, so I went for the Granny Apple Green.

Back to the Ocean!

A few weeks ago I posted an ocean scene card from Virginia Beach, click here if you missed that post. Unfortunately we are heading back to the ocean, not for a visit with my mother -in-law this time, but for her funeral. It is hard to believe that only 6 days after returning to St. Louis from a great visit the Lord called her home so quickly. Rest in Peace, mom! So of course I thought it would be appropriate to post an Ocean Sympathy card today.

I began with a Misty Moonlight card base and added a layer of Mossy Meadow. My Basic White CS measures 3¾ x 5 and that is where I did my blending. My ocean/sky was created with Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight. You can use the Blending Brushes or sponges. I tend to be a sponge girl, but either will work.

The greenery is stamped with Mossy Meadow and Old Olive ink. The sandy beach and the rocks were stamped with Crumb Cake. With Deepest Sympathy is part of the Something Fancy stamp set that was featured last month in the mini and is now in our 2023-2024 annual catalog.

I almost forgot to mention the star of the show, Oceanfront. I do love this set and I love visiting the ocean, but I am sure this trip will be very different from 2 weeks ago. Check out this set, you won’t be disappointed. I hope this card inspires you to create something beautiful.

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Hey Chick!

Happy Tuesday! Today’s cards was created by the design team at Stampin’ Up! I love the bright colors of the Designer Series Paper used on this card. The strips of paper were cut from the Brights Designer Series Paper pack and the Glorious Gingham 6×6 paper pack.

This card features the Hey Chick Bundle, our watercolor pencils and the Loose Daisy embellishments. I love how they used the designer series papers to create a diagonal design. Cut 1/2″ strips from a variety of designer series paper packs and glue them diagonally to a 3¾ x 5 panel of Basic White cardstock.

The chick is stamped in Memento Black ink on a 3 x 3 piece of Basic White CS and colored with our watercolor pencils and a blending pen. Add the greeting and attach this cute chick with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Step it up a bit with a few Loose Daisy embellishments. Isn’t it amazing how just a little embellishment changes the look of a card. I love it!

Lighting the Way-Make It Monday #108

Today I am sharing two cards that I created using the Lighting the Way stamp set and dies. This set was featured in the previous mini catalog and can be found on page 24 in the new 2023-2024 annual catalog. These fun fireflies will surely brighten your day and for sure make you think of a starry summer night.

I used Blending Brushes and sponge daubers to create a soft summers night background. Misty Moonlight, a returning color, is the star of the show for my first card. Download the free project sheet below for more details on measurements and supplies.
