Peace Be With You! -Sunday Wisdom

Today we celebrate Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit. We can find consolation in the life of Jesus and how he always brings peace and reconciliation.

So let’s meditate a bit on peace. What is peace? Where is there a lack of peace in my life?

The gift of the Holy Spirit brings us ever closer to the Lord. So when it comes to inner peace we need to ask ourselves, “Do I allow God to move in me so that I can offer the gift of peace to others.”

Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper

The Simply Elegant Designer Series paper pack truly is elegant and I created this card for a friend of mine who will be ordained a priest in a few weeks. It is simple and yet elegant, gee I wonder who named this paper pack.

I used Smoky Slate and Cajun Craze cardstock. It is amazing how the Smoky Slate takes on a silver hue and the Cajun Craze a copper hue when combined with this extraordinary paper. I will definitely be adding another pack to my next order.

If you would like to order our host code for this month is: AUNW3AKX See the end of this post for supplies used to create today’s card.

Bloom Where You’re Planted!

Today in the greenhouse we have some potted plants from the Simply Succulents Bundle and a splash of the Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper.

I don’t know about you, but I seem to be always in need of a simple thank you card. Receiving a hand-crafted card is a true treasure and a great way to spread a little joy.

I love all the colors in this designer series paper and with a little fussy cutting, I dressed up the inside of my card. I don’t love fussy cutting things, but the Stampin’ Up! Paper Snips sure does make the job easier. It is all about the right tools, right? Or should I say toys! LOL

Supplies

  • Cinnamon Cider Cardstock- 5½ x 8½ (card base)

  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive
  • Tombow Liquid Glue

Directions

  • Score the Cinnamon Cider cardstock in landscape position at 4¼. Fold & burnish.
  • Cut a 4×4 piece of DSP and then cut it on the diagonal, creating two equal pieces.
  • Attach one piece to the Basic White panel and then attach to the card front.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the Simply Succulents Bundle to crop the planter and the greenery. Attach the greenery to the planter using liquid glue.
  • Now attach the plants to the card front.
  • Use the Stamparatus to stamp the greeting in Memento Black Ink.
  • Use the Paper Snips to fussy cut one of the plants from the paper.
  • Use the Stamparatus to add the inside greeting and attach the potted plant on the lower right corner and adhere to the inside.

Inking Royal Blog Hop-Sailing Home!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s May Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects are centered around Travel & Transportation, so prepare yourself for a fun journey. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the end of this post.

I love participating in blog hops with my fellow team members because they are all so talented and each month I am excited to see something new. This month’s theme is travel and transportation and my card today is a relaxing scene, traveling on a quite lake or if you think bigger an ocean.

I would love to spend the day and even a night or two on a quite boat, swimming by day and enjoying a glass of wine in the evening while watching the sun set. I do love the sound of the ocean, but since my dream includes swimming during the day, I think I will stick to a lake and leave the sharks for those more adventurous.

Supplies

  • Night of Navy Cardstock- 5½ x 8½ ( card base)
  • Real Red Cardstock- 4 x 5¼
  • Basic White Cardstock- 3¾ x 5 (front), 4 x 5¼ (inside),2×3
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock- 2×2
  • Sailing Home Stamp Set
  • Smooth Sailing Dies
  • Colored Pencils, Real Red-Cajun Craze
  • Bumblebee, Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight and Memento Black Ink
  • Blending Brushes/Sponges or Daubers
  • Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals

Directions

  • Score Night of Navy cardstock in landscape position at 4 ¼.  Fold & burnish to create card base.
  • On the 3 ¾ x 5 white panel use Stampin’ sponges, daubers or blending brushes to create water scene.  I used Balmy Blue and Bumblebee for the sky and Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight for the water.
  • Stamp the boat in Memento Black ink on white cardstock and use colored pencils or Stampin’ Blend markers to color the boat. Crop boat using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and  coordinating dies.  Attach the boat to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the greeting and the birds in Memento Black ink and attach the water scene to the Real Red cardstock panel.  Attach panel to the card front.
  • Create another water scene on the 4 x 5 ¼ white panel for the inside. Crop ship’s wheel with Crumb Cake cardstock and attach to inside panel.

Ascension of Our Lord-Sunday Wisdom

“So they may be one, just as we are one.”  As I reflect on this line in today’s gospel, I am struck by how divide our world seems to be.  Not just the world in general, but even those who believe in Christ who do not seem to be united.  The Lord longs for us to be united in universal love so we can be filled with Joy.

“Consecrate them in the truth.”  He wants us to know in His dying and rising we are protected and called to a greater holiness.  So today, let us join Jesus in His prayer to bring healing and overcome division.  My you feel the loving arms of Jesus around you today.
