Snowflakes-Favorite Things Friday

In many cultures snowflakes symbolize uniqueness. Sound perfectly logical since each snowflake is different. Snowflakes are actually made of ice crystals. Ice crystals are simply water droplets that freeze on contact with dust particles in the atmosphere. These ice crystals develop into intricate, beautiful shapes and we call them snowflakes. Did you know that the shapes depend on how cold the sub-freezing air is and how much humidity or moisture is present in the air where they form.

Well, today’s holiday card features the Snowflake Sky embossing folder (#162026 $11). I absolutely love the look of the snowflakes and just for fun I embossed on a panel of designer series paper instead of cardstock. I think it gives it a much softer look.

My card base is Cherry Cobbler and my greeting from Night Divine is stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink. I did fussy cut the greeting, but other than that, this was a super simple card. I hope you will create some beautiful holiday cards with this unique embossing folder. Happy Stamping!

Night Divine Stars – Favorite Things Friday

The days are definitely getting shorter and one of the most wonderful things about a clear cold winter’s night is the beauty of all the stars. The O Holy Night Designer Series Paper pack pairs perfectly with the Night Divine stamp set to create a starry night card just in time for the holidays!

I began with a Basic White card base and let the designer series paper do all the work. I added a layer of the starry paper to the card front and stamped the greeting from Night Divine with Night of Navy ink on a 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock. I added the greeting to a 2-3/8 x 2-3/8 panel of Night of Navy CS and attached it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp Sale-Favorite Things Friday!

It’s Black Friday! I have to say with all the online sales Black Friday is not what it used to be, but if stamps on sale is what you are looking for then you are in luck. The “Last Chance” sale for retiring products is going on now through January 3rd. Of course product availability is while supplies last. All the cards I am sharing with you today were created with A Walk in the Forest designer series paper pack which is one of those retiring projects.

I began my first card with a Balmy Blue cards base and added some of the designer series paper. One of the brown bears is cropped with the coordinating punch and the other is fussy cut with our Paper Snips. The greeting is stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and cropped with the Deckled Circles dies.

My second card is created using a Garden Green card base. I added a layer of Pretty Peacock and cropped the designer series paper with the Deckled Circle Dies. The greeting is from Throughout the Year and cropped with the Nestled Dies.

For my third card is created using the double oval punch and Pretty Peacock cardstock. I fussy cut the Mama and baby bear with my Paper Snips. The greeting is again from Throughout the Year stamp set.

My last card is created again using a Garden Green card base, a layer of Pretty Peacock and then a layer of designer series paper. The greeting is from the Beary Cute Bundle and stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and cropped with the square die from the Autumn Leaves Bundle. Fruitful Blessings-Favorite Things Friday!

This time of year in my neighborhood not only are the leaves falling but also the acorns and our Fruitful Blessings Bundle is the perfect set to showcase fall. I began with an Early Espresso card base. I stamped the single leaves with Crumb Cake ink onto a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock and added it to the card front.

The leaves and the acorns were all colored with our Watercolor Pencils. I used a Blender Pen to soften the lines and attach them to a panel of Very Vanilla and Early Espresso with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is stamped with Early Espresso ink and cropped with the die from Autumn Leaves Bundle, another great bundle for the fall.

Cottages Wreath Fall Leaves~Favorite Things Friday!

I hope Wednesdays “Leaves” Blog Hop got you in the mood for fall. Click here if you missed this month’s Blog Hop! Now is the time to catch the fall spirit because Thanksgiving is just 37 days away! I pray you have many things to be thankful for this year! Being grateful for what I have always puts me in a good mood, so I guess you could say being grateful is one of my favorite things.

For those of you who follow me know that I love fall and Winter, especially creating Halloween, Fall and Christmas cards and projects. I am not sure if it is the colors or just the joyful spirit in the air. Probably the Joy because really do red and green actually colors that go together outside of Christmas?? Perhaps they do, remember I am no expert.

Today’s card features the Cottage Wreath stamp set and dies featured in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. I believe this bundle was featured in last year’s holiday mini catalog, so perhaps you have it in your stamping stash. If not, no worries, you can order it today. All the supplies for today’s card are featured at the end of this post.

I decided to feature Cajun Craze and Old Olive, two of my favorite Stampin’ Up! colors for fall. The Old Olive layer measures 3-3/4 x 5 and the Cajun Craze almost square measures 2-5/8 x 2-3/4. I am not sure why I did not make it easier on myself and just make it a 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 square. I guess because I stamped the wreath of leaves first and cut it down, which ended up making my white piece 2-1/2 x 2-5/8. Some cards are just like that! LOL

The grateful greeting is stamped with Memento Black ink, but Early Espresso would look nice as well. I stamped the fern and fall looking leaves on the white panel to create a fun background before layering. Since I have a variety of layers I decided not to use Stampin’ Dimensionals. If you want to add this stamp set or any other supplies to your shopping cart, just click below. Happy Stamping!
