Just Because Cards

Celebrate Color and Contour with Gorgeous Grape

If you have ever moved or helped someone move then you know how quickly things accumulate. Recently we had to sell my mother-in-laws home and while she is no longer able to live alone, she is still with us.  Praise God for that. I love to rearrange and am constantly re-organizing my crafting area, but that does not necessarily mean I purge. Maybe that is why I can’t always find things. LOL

My card today is a celebration of all the wonderful memories we have shared with Mom over the years.  I began with a Gorgeous Grape card base and used the Color and Contour Bundle.

It’s Cookin’ Time!

This card truly does look much better in person. It is very hard to capture the 3-D look in a picture. While it was not a super fast card, a little more fussy at times, it was so much fun to create.

I used the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, which by the way is on sale through August 2nd. Save 15% and this is such a great deal because this is a big paper pack with lots of choices. CLICK HERE for pdf of DSP on sale.

I do love to cook and bake, but my kids will tell you I have been known not to follow a recipe. LOL. My daughter often asks for my recipes but get so frustrated with me at my lack of detailed instructions. I really can’t help it, I truly do just add a little of this and a little of that! You won’t see a cooking video from me anytime soon. LOL

  • What’s Cookin’ Bundle

  • Natural Twine
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive /Liquid Glue

  • Attach DSP to the top and bottom of card front.  Add strip of Early Espresso on top to hide seam.
  • Stamp accessories on Basic White panel (see colors above) and crop with coordinating dies from bundle.
  • For the bowl I stamped two images and cut the front part of the bowl off one image, added the utensils and then attached the second bowl to add dimension.
  • Use Soft Suede cardstock to crop cutting board and tie a piece of twine in the top.
  • Attach DSP strip (3/8×2) to the upper section of the card, add utensils and Matte Black Dots. I colored the metal spatula and whisk with a Dark Gray Granite Stampin’ Blend marker.
  • Stamp greeting in Memento Black ink on small strip of Basic White cardstock and attach to cards front.
  • Decorate the inside as desired.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card as much as I enjoyed creating it!
