Today is my Dad’s birthday and I cannot tell you how special he is and how much he does for our family . So on this special day, I decided to share the card I made for him with you. It is “Otterly Awesome” just like my dad. Funny thing is that I will not be giving him his card until tonight at dinner so if he sees this post before then, the card will not be much of a surprise, but either way, I am glad to celebrate his special day. Happy Birthday Dad!

Supplies

  • Balmy Blue CS- 5½ x 8½, (card base), 4 x 5¼
  • Basic White CS- (2) 4 x 5¼
  • Awesome Otters Stamp Set
  • Memento Black Ink    
  • Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend Combo
  • Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend Combo
  • Waves Embossing Folder (retired)
  • Picture This Dies
  • Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/Liquid Glue

Directions

  • Score card base in landscape position (aka longer side) at 4¼.  Fold and burnish to create card.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine and the Picture This Dies to crop circles in the Balmy Blue CS panel.
  • Line one of the Basic White CS panels behind the cropped circles and use a pencil to lightly trace around the circles.
  • Stamp desired images and greeting in the circle areas of the Basic White CS and color with Stampin’ Blend Combos.
  • Erase all pencil marks and layer the Balmy Blue circles over images on the white cardstock.
  • Attach images to card front.
  • Add white panel to the inside and decorate as desired.

Rain or Shine?

Are you a rain or a shine person? I think I am both. I love the sunshine, but I also love a good summer thunderstorm. Not the tornado type like we have seen in the mid-west this year, but a cooling summer thunderstorm. There is just something magical about the day turning dark in the middle of the afternoon. Good-Bye Sweet Delicate Dahlias!

Well my friends, today is the absolute last day for you to order anything from the Sale-a-brations brochure, as the sale ends tonight at midnight (MT). If you enjoyed yesterday’s video, you are going to love our card for today. I am featuring the Delicate Dahlias for the last time. Boo hoo! Really going to miss this stamp set.

Similar to one of the Bermuda Bay cards from yesterday, I stamped the detailed outline dahlia in VersaMark Ink and added some black embossing powder, used the heat tool to emboss and used the Water Painters to add a bit of Polished Pink color. I used my Paper Snips and yes, I fussy cut the Dahlia.

I began with a Polished Pink card base and added a layer of Basic Black and Basic White. I popped up the Dahlia with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a few Matte Black Dots. The greeting is from the In Your Words stamp set.

Crafty Creation Meets Color Challenge-Favorite Things Friday
