Fun Fact Friday~ How Much Space Do You Need to Craft?

It’s Friday, I hope you are all ready for the weekend. I know I am. One thing I have to do this weekend in clean my craft room. It is a mess! I am sure that never happens to you! Fun Fact: Why is it that no matter how big a crafting space is most crafters tend to create in a 8 x 8 space surrounded by misc. crafting supplies? Well, my craft rooms needs attention so I am crafting in a 4 x 4 space. Time to clean up, organize, and get energized.

Today’s card features the new Beautiful Butterflies Bundle and more of that gorgeous Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper. This paper pack can be yours free with a $60 order through my online store, CLICK HERE

Project Supplies

  • Blueberry Bushel CS- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, plus scrap for butterfly body
  • Very Vanilla CS- 4 x 5 1/4 (2)
  • Basic Black CS-4 x 4
  • Melon Mambo CS-1/8 x 7
  • Bloom Impressions DSP-4 x 5 1/4 cut on the diagonal
  • Stampin’ Adhesive
  • With You In Mind stamp set
  • Blueberry Bushel Ink

I started by cutting my piece of DSP in half on the diagonal and then attached it to the Very Vanilla panel. I then added my strip of Melon Mambo and trimmed off the edges. Crop the butterfly using Basic Black CS and and the body with Blueberry Bushel and attach to card front. Stamp the greeting with Blueberry Bushel ink and add the 2nd panel of Very Vanilla to the inside.

This was a super fun and very easy card lay out. If you have this amazing DSP, I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am. If not hop on over to my online store and purchase yours today. Happy Stamping!

Another fun fact about Stampin’ Up!. It was started in 1988 and actually sold rubber stamps, mostly wood, from other companies. In 1992, they hired their own illustrator and began producing Stampin’ Up! exclusively designed stamps. In 1997, when Stampin’ Up! launched their first catalog, they discontinuing all sales from other companies. Happy Stamping!

Textured Floral and Delightfully Electric DSP

Yesterday I created several cards from a one sheet wonder template using the Delightfully Electric Designer Series paper pack and if you watched that video then you know you can get this amazing paper pack of 48 sheets for free with a $50 online order through my store. You might want to place that order today, as time is running out as our Sale-a-Bration event ends this Thursday, February 29th.

Today, I took a 2 x 5½ strip of the same designer series print from yesterdays video, turned it over for the pink stripe side and stamped with one of the small flowers from the Textured Floral stamp set to create a floral look on top of the stripes. I used Berry Burst ink to stamp the flowers and Garden Green to add the green accents. I stamped the splatter ink with Fresh Freesia ink and I have to say they all coordinate perfectly. Below is an image of the pattern that I choose. The one of the left is from yesterday’s video and if you flip it over you get the one on the right, the one I used for today’s card.

Here is the card I created today using the strip of designer series paper on the right.

I stamped the greeting from the set with Berry Burst ink and fussy cut it with my paper snips. I added a 1 inch strip of Garden Green CS along both sides of my DSP strip. You can cut a piece of Garden Green that measures 2¼ x 5½ but I had a few 1″ strips in my scrap bin so I decided to save a little paper. So next time you are looking at some striped patterned paper that you are not sure how to use it, think outside the box and add some stamped images like the sample shown above. It really makes your paper take on a whole new look. Happy Stamping!

It’s A Jungle Out There-Make It Monday #146

Hey folks we are in the final days of our Sale-A-Bration event and today I am sharing a card I created using the Jungle Pals stamp set and coordinating dies. You can get one or both of these FREE as part of the Sale-a-Bration catalog. Each free item requires a $50 order, so go ahead and download the catalogs and start making that list. Just click on the catalog images below. Hurry because the sale ends on February 28th!

Jungle Pals Stamp Set and Dies

Click here or on the image below to view the video of the three cards I created using the Jungle Pals Sale-a-Bration stamp set and dies.

These little jungle pals make great birthday cards. The sweet toucan bird is my absolute favorite. The alligator is cute too but seriously only in this stamped image because a real alligator is more dark brown then green. After all they do live in the swamp.

Here is a closer look at today’s cards!

Card # 1 Tiger
Card #2 Toucan Thank You
Card # 3 Toucan Birds Happy Birthday

You can color these sweet critters with our Stampin Blend markers or watercolor pencils. Be sure to add a pack of the Blender pens to your stamping stash, they make water coloring so much more fun! Have fun playing around with the combos for the perfect shading. Happy Stamping!

Jungle Pals Favorite Things Friday!

Happy Friday everyone. We are in the final days of our Sale-A-bration Sale and now is the time to add those Sale-A-Brations products to your stamping supplies. For every $50 you order online through my store you will recieve a free Sale-A-Bration stamp set, paper pack, or some fun bling. Today I am sharing two products from the Jungle Pals bundle. These cute little critters are just waiting to make your next project a hit.

JUNGLE PALS

This card came together fast as the Jungle Dies made it super easy. I cropped the tree using some Pecan Pie cardstock and the leaves and jungle grass with Garden Green cardstock. Our little hanging friend was stamped with Memento Black ink and colored with some watercolor pencils. I used the Early Espresso pencil and a blender pen to create the shading.

The Happiest of Birthday is from Throughout the Year and stamped with Pecan Pie ink. It looks a little crooked. LOL I promise I did not have a glass of Chardonnay while creating this card, although maybe that would have helped. Anyway it is homemade right. I am sure whomever receives this hanging friend will not mind. I think it reminds us that being perfect is so overrated! Happy Stamping!
