Thank You

Kindness and Daisy Garden

My hubby and I recently returned home from a visit to Virginia Beach to be with his mom. While it was not a vacation, as she is unable to live alone, it was an enjoyable visit. When we got home, I was thrilled to see my Stampin’ Up! order had arrived. Nothing is more exciting that getting a Stampin’ Up! order from UPS. Right???

One of the new toys in my order was the Daisy Garden background stamp and oh boy it is beautiful. Today’s card was inspired by a sample in the annual catalog on page 106. Enjoy!

True Love is Designer Series Paper

Creating cards with the True Love black and white paper pack is not only easy but quick. This card came together in a matter of minutes. The only part that took a bit of time was the coloring of the flowers. Even that can be quick when using the Stampin’ Blend markers.

I love these alcohol markers because the combo pack of light and dark makes blending a breeze. Check out the variety of colors in the annual catalog on pages 122-123.

Supplies

  • Basic Black Cardstock- 5½ x 8½, 3-1/8 x 5-5/8,1½ x 2½,
  • Basic White Cardstock- 4 x 5¼, 3 ¼ x 4 ¾, 1½ x 2½,
  • True Love Designer Series Paper- flowers (cut with paper snips), 3 x 4½ (dotted), 2 x 5¼
  • Stampin’ Blend Marker Combo- Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
  • Paper Snips
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive or Liquid Glue

Directions

  • Score Basic Black cardstock in landscape position at 4¼. Fold & burnish.
  • Attach 2 x 5¼ strip of True Love DSP to the left side of card front.
  • Layer the True Love dotted DSP panel to the Basic Black panel and then layer to the 3¼ x 4¾ Basic White panel.  Layer all to the card front as shown above.
  • Stamp greeting in Memento Black ink on white cardstock and crop using the Double Oval Punch.  I used the thank you from Beauty of Friendship, but you have a ton of options, so go crazy.
  • Crop a scallop oval in Basic Black using the Double Oval Punch.
  • Layer the greeting oval to the black oval and attach to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Color several flowers and leaves from the True Love DSP and use paper snips to fussy cut and attach to front of card.
  • Add 4 x 5¼ Basic White panel to the inside and decorate as desired.

There are a few different layers to this card, but it really does come together quickly and the pop of color created with the Stampin’ Blend markers is the perfect finish to an elegant card. This would make a great wedding or anniversary card. I hope you are inspired to create something beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Vine Design Fancy Thank You!

I really excited to share this fancy thank you card with you today because it looks elegant and complicated, but really it is not hard at all. I used the dies from the Vine Design Bundle to create the flowered lattice side cut out the thanks from the Well Written dies.

  • Begin with a Very Vanilla card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼.  Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Very Vanilla and use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to dry emboss with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder.  Attach this vanilla embossed panel to the card front.
  • Cut a 2 ¾ x 4 ½” piece of Highland Heather cardstock and using the Vine Design rectangular die run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.  That’s all it takes to create a fancy side panel.  Add a bit of Tombow liquid glue and adhere it to the left side of the Very Vanilla panel dry embossed in the previous step.
  • Crop the “thanks” using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the Well Written dies.  Again use some Tombow liquid glue to adhere it to the card front.
  • For a finishing bit of elegant bling, add 9 silver metallic pearls to the center of some of the flowers. (see image above)
  • For the inside, stamp the greeting from the Happy Thoughts set in Highland Heather ink.

I hope you enjoyed this fancy kind of thank you! You will be amazed at how simple this card really is, but it will definitely wow your friends.

Did you know that the Whale Done Punch Bundle pairs perfectly with the Friends are Like Seashell Bundle? Check it out.

Today’s card uses both of these sets, plus the new Blending Brushes to create an under the sea thank you! Let’s just say there is nothing fishy about this thank you!

  • Begin with a Cinnamon Cider card base that measures 4 ¼  x 11. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 5 ½”.  Fold and burnish.  This will create a tent fold card.
  • Cut a 4-1/8 x 5-3/8” piece of Old Olive cardstock and layer to the card front.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and using a Blending brush, add some Mango Melody ink to the top of the cardstock.
  • Next, blend some Pacific Point ink to create the ocean and finally on the bottom of the white cardstock, blend some Crumb Cake ink to create the sandy ocean floor.
  • Stamp some specks from the Friends are Like Seashells set in crumb cake and some Old Olive seaweed to the sandy floor.
  • Stamp a few sea shells in Cinnamon Cider ink, cut out with coordinating dies and add to the bottom of the ocean.
  • Stamp the Thank you and some fishy friends from the Whale Done set in Memento ink across the blue of the ocean.

A Dandy Little Thank You

What could be better than a dragonfly garden? I image a garden filled with lots of colorful flowers and of’ course a few dragonflies. I have to admit I don’t see too many dragonflies here in St. Louis, perhaps this spring I will check out the Missouri Botanical Gardens to see if they are hanging out there.

But for now, this cute little dragonfly thank you will have to do. Notice the sweet little lady bug trinket, I think it gives this card a polished finish. The Lady Bug Trinkets are in the January – June catalog on page 25.

  • Begin with a Bumblebee card base that measures 4 ¼ x 11”. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 5 ½”.  Fold and burnish.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of the Basic White cardstock and layer to the bumblebee card front.
  • Cut a 2 x 4” piece of designer series paper from the Dandy Gardens paper pack and layer to the bottom of the white panel.
  • Cut a ½ x 4” piece of coordinating paper from the same paper pack and attach it to layer across the 2 x 4” piece.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to cut out a large rectangle from Bumblebee cardstock using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Now cut a smaller rectangle from Basic White cardstock and stamp the greeting in Memento Black on the white rectangle.
  • Layer the two rectangles together and attach to the card front.
  • Use the Dragonflies punch to crop a big and little Dragonfly from the Dandy Gardens Designer Series Paper and layer on the card front.
  • For that added pop, add a Lady Bug Trinket to the card front.

There are so many possibilities for this bundle and for the sister bundle, Garden Wishes. Check out the Dandy Garden Suite for these and many other products that will help you create amazing cards.

Spring in just around the corner, so have fun with this suite and feel free to share your creations and your comments. All are welcome!
