Designer Series Paper

Last Chance -Great Products

Wow it is almost the end of February, where did that month go? It was really cold and snowy here is St. Louis this month, so one would think that time would have slowed down a bit, but alas, here we are at the end of another month, but of’ course tired of the cold and ready for spring.

Today along with my card, I thought I would share with you another card from a dear friend, Mary Steinau. Both of our cards feature the Flower and Field Designer Series paper and I am sure you are going to love Mary’s fun design. I do not have the measurements for this card, but I am sure you will love her design. Thanks Mary for sharing your talent with us.

Mary is one of my team members and is so incredibly talented. If you would like to join my team, now is the time. Join before the end of February and get 5 packs of 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper free. We would love to have you on our team. There is never any pressure to sell, just enjoy crafting with a discount.

And here is my card using the Flower and Field Designer Series Paper!

  • Begin with a Shaded Spruce card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½”.  In landscape position, (aka along the 8½” side) score at 4 ¼”.  Fold and burnish.
  • Cut a 3 x 4” piece of the Flower and Field Designer Series paper.
  • Next cut a white cardstock panel that measures 3 1/8 x 4 1/8”.  Layer the Flowered paper to the white panel.
  • Now cut a 3 ¼ x 4 ¼” piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock and attach to the white and flower panel.
  • Stamp Thinking of You from the Happy Thoughts stamp set on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and punch out using the Tailored Tag punch.
  • Add two small Matte Black Dots featured in the January-June 2021 catalog to each side of the tag and layer it on the flowered panel.
  • Add three more Matte Black Dots to the bottom of the card.

A Rococo Rose Valentine!

So since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day I thought I would offer one more card for the holiday. Did you know that making this Valentine’s Day card was so much cheaper than buying one at the store? Well, I suppose I could find one at Dollar Tree, but it would not be as fancy and this one is made the love.

I decided to go with non-traditional colors, especially since yesterdays card was filled with red hearts! Today I used the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper, the Tailored Tag punch, the hearts from Kangaroo and Company and of’ course the Heartfelt Bundle.

  • Begin with a Rococo Rose card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½”.  In landscape position, (aka along the 8½” side) score at 4 ¼”.  Fold in half to create your card.
  • Cut a 3 ¾ x5” piece of Basic Black cardstock. Use the Tailored Tag punch to punch out some designs from the Peony Garden paper pack and glue them to the black panel leaving even spaces between each design.  TIP: I glued the pieces and some of them hung over the edge of the card panel.  Once you are finished attaching all the pieces, flip the card to the back and trim off excess.  SUGGESTION: I recommend using liquid glue to attach the pieces as it will be more forgiving when trying to create the even borders all around.
  • Attach the black design panel to another piece of Basic Black cardstock that measures 1/8” smaller than the panel.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to cut the small heart die from the Kangaroo and Company dies in Rococo Rose cardstock.  I cut 7 hearts, you may want more, less, or none at all depending on your taste in design.
  • Uses the Heartfelt Bundle to stamp the greeting on a piece of Rococo Rose cardstock in Memento Black ink and punch it out with the smooth heart punch.  Now punch a scalloped heart in black.  Attach the two hearts together and add to the front of your cards.
  • Because I already have a few layers going and I am going to mail this card out, I did not use Stampin’ Dimensionals, but they would look good as well, especially if you are hand-delivering your creation.

For the inside, cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of White cardstock and attach to the inside panel.  Stamp the greeting from the Heartfelt Bundle in Rococo Rose ink.  Next stamp the dotted heart in Memento Black around the rose heart.

Ho Ho Ho Perfectly Plaid

Today’s card feature the Perfectly Plaid set in the annual catalog. It is on page 60. It will not be retiring until May so there is still time for this one, not sure if there is any Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper available, but I have loved playing with this designer series pack this season.

  • Begin with a Pretty Peacock card base 5 ½ x 8 ½”. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • Layer a piece of 1 ¼ x 5 ½” piece of Plaid Tiding Designer Series paper to the left side of the card. I cut mine at an angle on both end.
  • Using the Stitched Rectangle Dies cut a large rectangle from Whisper White Cardstock and adhere to the card base, covering some of the plaid paper.
  • From the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper, punch three trees with the Pine Tree Punch on page 166 in the annual catalog. Layer the trees on the Whisper White rectangle.
  • Using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp Merry Christmas from the Perfectly Plaid set above the tress and the Ho Ho Ho stamp at a slight angle above Merry Christmas.   TIP:  If you cannot purchase the plaid paper, use the plaid tree stamp to create your own plaid design.
  • Layer a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock to the inside of the card.
  • Stamp the inside sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid set in Pretty Peacock ink.
  • Again using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp the plaid tree to the bottom right under the sentiment.  I stamped the tree trunk in Early Espresso.

This is such a fun Christmas set with so many possibilities. If you would like to add this to your crafty collection, please use the current host code: URBMWZNY.
