Glue Box Holder-Make It Monday #17

Today’s make it Monday video is a tutorial on how to create a Glue Box Holder for your Multi-purpose Liquid Glue. I love my glue and this box is not only cute, but functional. It allows me to store my glue upside down, making it ready to use any time I feel the need to craft, which is most of the time. LOL

Good news, bad news! The bad news is the Designer Series Paper that I used is this video is retired. The good news is that many of our amazing Designer Series Paper packs are on sale now 15% off.

Cutting Measurements

All Measurement=inches  CS=Cardstock DSP=Designer Series Paper  Landscape Position=Long side   Portrait Position=short side

Supplies

  • Basic White Thick Cardstock: 5½ x 8¼
  • Designer Series Paper: 2 x 3” cut  4 and 2 x 2” cut 2
  • Scrap Cardstock-color to match DSP: 2 x 3 for scallop and more cardstock if die cut embellishments are used
  • 1 ¼” Circle Punch
  • Scallop Circle Punch-optional
  • Die Cut Embellishments-optional
  • Tear and Tape or Liquid Glue
  • Stampin’ Write Markers to Match DSP-optional

Directions

  • In landscape position, score the 8½” side of the thick cardstock at 2, 4, 6, and 8”. Rotate to portrait position and score at 1 ¼ and 4 ¼”. Fold and burnish all score lines with a bone folder.
  • To the end with a ¼” score, remove the two end rectangles leaving the middle section as a tab. Miter the tab ends.  Place a piece of tear and tape along the top of this mitered section.
  • On the opposite end of the mitered tab, punch a hole using the 1 ¼” circle punch from the center panel.
  • With the cardstock in landscape position, cut along the 2, 4, 6, and 8” score lines, stopping at the horizontal score line. (refer to video). These will become the tabs that close the box.
  • Next you will glue the 2 x 3” panels of DSP to the middle panels of the thick cardstock.  Note for the section with the hole: Position a 2 x 3 panels of DSP under the circle opening and use a pencil to draw a circle on the opposite side of the paper that you want to show. Punch this circle with the 1 ¼” punch and glue it to the white cardstock panel with a hole. (refer to video)
  • Lay the box facedown so the DSP in on the table. The tear and tape mitered section should be on your right with the tape facing you.  Remove the tape and bring the left side of the box over to meet the tape.  Secure with a bone folder.
  • Attach the 2×2 piece of DSP to both ends and decorate the box as desired.
  • To create the scalloped decoration, first punch cardstock with the 1¼ circle punch and then punch around that same circle with the scallop punch. (refer to video)

What Is Your Soul Thirsting For?-Sunday Wisdom

Today’s gospel is so familiar, we hear it a lot and while it appears that Jesus is taking care of the hunger needs His people are experiencing, Jesus wants to give us so much more.

Yes, He always takes care of our physical needs, but He wants to nourish our souls as well. What is your soul thirsting for? As we look deeper into today’s gospel reading we find that Our Lord and Savior is offering His Love and Mercy to us and is willing to be with us every step of the way.

Jesus is the one who sets up tiny miracles in our everyday lives. He also prepares us to receive these miracles and when we spend time in prayer He gathers us close to him and sometimes we can see His hand in our lives.

So, what is your soul thirsting for?

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae
