Watercolors and Simply Succulent

The Simply Succulent bundle pairs beautifully with the watercolor technique. Todays card was created using watercolor pencils, the new in-color inks and the watercolor painters.

I started out stamping the large succulents in black using Stazon ink on some Thick Basic White Cardstock. The Stazon ink works best for the watercoloring while Memento Black works better with alcohol markers. The inks featured in todays sample include Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya, Just Jade, Mint Macaron, Fresh Freesia, Evening Evergreen, Pear Pizzazz and Cinnamon Cider inks.

When I watercolor, I like to use a small acrylic block as a color pallet. I stamp the smallest blocks in the ink pads and pull color from them using the water painters. When using the watercolor pencils I take the water painter directly to pencil tip.

Jesus Meets Our Needs-Sunday Wisdom

Because Jesus sacrificed His life for all us, we can receive the riches of His love daily.  In today’s gospel Jairus and the hemorrhaging women were desperate and knew they needed healing that only Jesus could provide.

When we acknowledge our spiritual poverty, we open our hearts to the riches of Jesus’ love and mercy.  It is hard to confess our weaknesses and acknowledge our temptations, but when we do our faith grows.  We humble ourselves to receive!

Let us strive to be like Jairus and the woman in today’s gospel, to not only admit that we need Jesus, but to trust and have faith that God will provide for all of our needs.

Jesus, thank you for dying for us.  We trust in your love and your wisdom to meet all of our needs.

With Sympathy-Artistically Inked

Here is a card we created at stamp camp this month. I love the soft look of Mint Macaron and cannot wait to use other colors with this set. I am sure you will be seeing more of it in the future.

If you like this card, we created three other cards at stamp camp this month and it is not too late to place a $25 order and get the pdf instructions w/photos free.

If you live in the St. Louis area, stamp camp in person could be an option for you. Check out details on my Events Calendar!

The background of this card was created using the stamps from the bundle, but did you know this bundle has paper to match it? How sweet is that!
