Blog Hop

Hearts, Hearts, Hearts-Happy Anniversary!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s January 2023 Blog Hop! If your craft projects aren’t already filled with hearts, then you might be behind the eight ball. No worries – we are here to help. We are excited to share our heart-filled creations with you and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I am not a big Valentine’s Day fan! I am not really sure why, I guess it just seems like a lot of hype for one day so I decided to create an anniversary card instead. Of’ course the card I am sharing with you now is so not what was in my head. LOL. I really hate it when that happens. I totally intended on creating with the Heart Punch pack, but so it goes.

Instead of the Heart Punch Pack the star of today’s show is the Cheerful Basket Bundle from the annual catalog. I kept the idea of creating an Anniversary card but trust me, it is good that I abandoned ship. Perhaps is the coming weeks I will give the Heart Punch pack another whirl.

Happy Anniversary

#blessedbycards

I started with a Pool Party card base and added a layer of the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper. My colored hearts are designed to bring out the colors in the designer series paper, so I chose Pool Party, Fresh Freesia and Gorgeous Grape. I used my Paper Snips to cut the hearts so I could bundle the colors together. I just love the tiny little heart dies in this bundle so I sprinkled a few of those in too. The greeting is from Celebrating You.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll continue to hop along with us today for more fun and inspiration. The next stop on our hop is with Lynn Kolcun at Avery’s Owlery.

InKing Royalty December Blog Hop-Winter

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! We have created wintry projects to share with you today – snow, sleds and mittens are sure to be found in our lineup. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I decided to go super simple with snowflakes and joy! Because snowflakes always bring me joy. I used the Wintery 3-D embossing folder and the joy from Merriest Moments!

I used Stampin’ the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine to emboss a panel of Balmy Blue with the Wintery 3-D embossing folder and cropped the greeting with the small banner from Stylish Shapes and Dies. If you have not added these amazing die to your crafting collection, now is the time. They are definitely my go to dies.

#blessedbycards

I added a small panel of white to both sides of my snowflake panel and attached it to the card front and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the greeting. I know it is super simple, but I like how it turned out. And now that the holidays are almost here, with our crazy and busy schedules, I thought perhaps we could all use a little simple!

Project Measurements and Supplies

  • Balmy Blue CS-5½ x 8½, (card base), 3¼ x 5½
  • Basic White CS- ½ x 5½, 2 x 3
  • Merriest Moments Stamp Set
  • Stylish Shapes Dies

Inking Royalty Blog Hop-Thanks!

Thanks Brian King!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s November Blog Hop! November is a time of gratitude and thanksgiving, and we’ve made projects that say “thanks!” to special people in our lives. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

#blessedbycards

I used the color combinations, Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry inspired by Brian King. Thanks Brian, you really are the King of color combos! I choose the Fond of Autumn Bundle, because I really do love Fall. The Crushed Curry panel is dry embossed using the new Leaf Fall 3-D embossing folder and the leaf arrangement is colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers.

I used the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine to crop to array of leaf images and arranged them together. TIP: I did use my Paper Snips to cut away some of the images on one of the fall florals so they would fit together and accent the acorns. The greeting is from Very Best Occasions and is cropped with the banner from Stylish Shapes Dies.

With Thanksgiving being only 8 days away, there is so much to be thankful for and today’s blog hop is a perfect way to celebrate gratitude! So I thought I would share one more “Thanks” card with you. This is the card I created for my November card class for the residents at Mother of Good Counsel Nursing. I am so thankful to these men and women who challenge themselves monthly to be creative.

#blessedbycards

I used the Hello Harvest Bundle and again the Leaf Fall embossing folder. Although this greeting is fantastic, it is retired. I love pulling out some oldie but goodie retired stamps for my friends the nursing home.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Sheryl  Sharp at Sharp Notes by Sheryl. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group and you don’t want to miss it

BOO! InKing Royalty’s Blog Hop!

October 2022 Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s October Blog Hop! Boo! Today we are sharing scary and sweet projects perfect for Halloween. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

For my first card I decided not to go with the traditional Halloween colors, so I started with a Fresh Freesia card base and added strips of Fresh Freesia and So Saffron to a panel of Basic White. The stamps I used for this card are from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit, Spooky Treats. I stamped the stars in Fresh Freesia Ink on the colored panels and attached them at angles to my Basic White layer.

#blessedbycards

The spooky spiders are stamped in the white spaces with Memento Black ink. The ghosts are also stamped in Memento Black on some scrap pieces of Basic White. Yes, I fussy cut them using my Paper Snips and arranged them on the front of my card. The Boo for both of my cards is from retired set, Banner Year. I really don’t think this set should have retired, but I am trying to let that go. LOL!

My second card features the Bewitching Bundle and the amazing Deckled Rectangle Dies! Oh baby to I love these dies! it gives the perfect spooky look, don’t you think?

#blessedbycards

I used a blending brush for the grass and the sky scenery. The grass is Granny Apple Green and the sky is Pool Party. I stepped it up by heat embossing the pumpkin from Hello Harvest with Black embossing powder! Click the button above for a free pdf download with pictures and instructions on how to create both of these cards. Happy Halloween!

As always it is a pleasure hoping with you and my InKing Royalty friends! Be sure to hop on over to my good friend Marilyn Jones at Stamp with MJ for more Halloween ideas! There is a lot of inspiration to be found in this group.

Leaves, Leaves, Stunning Leaves-Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s September Blog Hop! This month’s blog hop is dedicated to leaves. As the weather begins to cool, the leaves begin to change colors and fall from the trees. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! Thanks to Brian King for organizing this hop for us. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I am loving this theme because I love Fall. I love the changing of the leaves, the falling of acorns and of course the cooler weather. I love to start the day with a hot cup of coffee on a cool crisp fall morning. I hope my card today captures the changes of colors of fall leaves. I used Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake inks.

#blessedbycards

I embossed the front of my card with the Leaf Fall 3-D Embossing folder and I added a few of the gold Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins featured in the July- December mini catalog. If you missed these gems you are going to want to check out the sequins on page 9 and the embossing folder on page 53.

InKing Royal Blog Hop-Birds and Bees!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s May Blog Hop! Spring is just around the corner, so we are sharing Spring projects with bees and birds. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

First, could not decide if I wanted to do birds or bees and then once I decided I could not choose between the Hello Ladybug and the Honeybee Home bundles, so I decided to post them both.

For my first card, I simply turned this cute little Ladybug into a bumblebee. Unfortunately the Bumblebee cardstock and ink is retired, so I went with So Saffron. I added a panel of black that I embossed with the Hammered Metal embossing folder, yes, I know it too is retired, but you can use the new Hive 3-D embossing folder, I just have not received mine yet!

This card is pretty basic and easy to assemble. After you fold the card base in half cut off 1¼ from the card front to create the folded front image. I added some Daffodil Delight CS strips on the ladybug to create stripes and used vellum cardstock for the bee wings, then embellished it with a Matte Black Dot. I hope you enjoy creating with this adorable bundle.

Projects Supplies and Measurements for Card #1

  • So Saffron CS- 5½ x 8½, (card base), 3 x 4
  • Basic White CS- 4 x 5 ¼, 2 ¾ x 3 ¾
  • Basic Black CS- 2 ¾ x 5 ¼, 3 x 4
  • Daffodil Delight CS- 2 x 2 (cut 3 thin strips)
  • Vellum CS- 3 x 3
  • Honeybee Home Bundle
  • Memento Black Ink
  • So Saffron Ink
  • Matte Black Dots
  • Hive 3-D Embossing Folder
  • Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/Liquid Glue

My second card again began with a Basic White card base, but this time I added a piece of Daffodil Delight to the bottom and a strip of Basic Black across the middle to hide the seam. I was not sure how the black floral would like, but I love this bundle and decided to go for it. And, I kind of like it. Of course the bees are adorable, especially since they are not real. I added color to the bees using Daffodil Delight ink and a Blender Pen.

I do love this sentiment because it will be perfect to send to my mother-in-law. She continues to enjoy my card creations and may be my biggest fan! LOL

Projects Supplies and Measurements for Card #2

  • Basic White CS- 5½ x 8½, (card base), 3 x 4
  • Daffodil Delight CS- 5 ¼ x 5½
  • Basic Black CS- 3 x 4, ½ x 5 ½
  • Honeybee Home Bundle
  • Memento Black Ink

Oceans of Fun-InKing Royal Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop! As the weather gets warmer, it’s time to start planning our trips to the beach, the lake or the in-town aquarium. Today we’re sharing projects inspired by the ocean and sea – we are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I don’t think there is anything more relaxing than sitting in the warm sun listening to the ocean waves. Today’s card reminds me of a peaceful beach scene and since the weather here in St. Louis is a little brisk for this time of year, I am really longing for a warm sandy beach somewhere, but alas my Ocean Front card will have to do.

In addition to the Ocean Front stamp set, I used the Blending Brushes to add a Balmy Blue sky and the greeting is from Dahlia Days, which is also featured in the January – June 2022 mini catalog.

Project Supplies and Measurements

Flowing Flowers-InKing Royal Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! As we prepare for Spring, flowers are always on our minds. We are sharing flower-themed projects with you today and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I began my blog hop card with a 5½ x 8½ Basic Black card base and decided on Bumblebee for an accent. I simply ran a 4 x 5¼ piece of Bumblebee cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine using the Hammered Metal embossing folder, cut in on an angle and added a ½ x 5½ black strip to the back of the Bumblebee panel. I attached this accent color to a 4 x 5¼ white panel and attached to the card front. I featured the angle cut card technique in one of my Make it Monday videos a few weeks ago ,CLICK HERE if you missed that video. Join me every Monday for a new video.

The flowers are from the Flowing Flower stamp set featured on page 36 in the January – June 2022 mini catalog. I stamped the large flower twice in Bumblebee Ink on some white scrap and fussy cut using my paper snips. I stamped a few leaves in Old Olive directly to the Basic White cardstock and stamped a few more leaves to fussy cut.

I like the look of stamped and raised images on the same card and the distinctive ink stamp sets really add a more natural look. I just love the details in this floral image. Here is a closer look.

The greeting is from Flowing Flowers and the splatter is from Forever Fern. I used our Memento black ink for both the greeting and splatter, but our Black Stazon ink would be a good choice as well. Add a panel of white to the inside and decorate as desired. I hope you have fun creating with this amazing set.
