Congratulations-Graduation-Retirement

Everyday Details Bundle-Happy Retirement!

Happy Wednesday all and what a very happy Wednesday it is for my sister-in-law as she officially retired yesterday! Yahoo! Bring on the fun and relaxation! And in honor of her retirement I am sharing the card I created for her, although she might see this post before she gets her card!

I decided to use the Everyday Details Bundle and go sweet and simple with the teacups. I stamped the greeting on a 3 x 4 piece of Basic White and layered it to a Blueberry Bushel panel and then added it to a Basic White card base. I colored the teacups with some of our Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers and yes, I fussy cut the teacups. Sorry I just could not help myself.

I added a few Tinsel Gems in blue and quickly put it in the mail. Congratulations Diana I hope you enjoy many, many, happy healthy retirement years! Happy Stamping my friends. Stop back Friday for another Favorite Things Friday post!

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Happy Retirement-Favorite Things Friday!

Although I am a few years away from retirement, I know it will be my favorite thing because then I will be able to craft all day and work won’t get in the way. LOL Well, perhaps I will still need to spend time cleaning and doing laundry, but I am sure I will have more time for crafting! I hope!!

Today’s retirement card is a clean and simple card created using the Nature’ Prints and Gone Fishing stamp sets! I decided just to use one color for a simple monochromatic look. I choose Mossy Meadow.

#blessedbycards

I think this card would look great with Afternoon Azure and Gorgeous Grape as well. I guess I was going for a more masculine look, so I used the card green……oh Blackberry Bliss would be another great choice. Maybe next time! LOL Happy Stamping!

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

InKing Royalty-Blog Hop Blues!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! We are embracing some (or all) of Stampin’ Up!’s beautiful blues for today’s hop – there are so many great ways to showcase the blues in the current color families! We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them!

Again, today we are all about the blues…..not the down in the dump kind, but Stampin’ Up! blues of course! I wonder what your favorite Stampin’ Up! blue is. It know it is super hard to choose, but I think my all time favorite has to be Blueberry Bushel, I am so glad it has returned to our main color line! I think Night of Navy is my next favorite blue. Let me know in the comments your favorite Stampin’ Up! blues. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I started with a Balmy Blue card base and added a layer of Blueberry Bushel cardstock. The fish are stamped with Memento Black and Blueberry Bushel ink. I used the coordinating dies to crop my fish and arranged them on the card front. *Be sure your watercolor panel is completely dry before adding the greeting.

Gone Fishing $49.50

I created the water using a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Watercolor paper and using the water painters added some Balmy Blue and Blueberry Bushel ink. I used a generous amount of water with the painters and used the heating tool to dry the watercolor paper before assembling my card.

Here is a look at the inside of my card……

I stamped in Balmy Blue for solid and Memento Black for the outline of my fish hook. Of course after stamping and getting it to line up perfectly on the first try, I realized my hook is upside down! LOL Oh well, after all it is a homemade card and it has been a minute since I have gone fishing!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will hop along to the next stop on our blog hop with Sue Jackson at Just Peachy Stamping! There is a lot of inspiration to be found in this group-and you don’t want to miss it! Happy Stamping!

Congratulations Whale Done!

Big or small I think it is important to celebrate accomplishments. It might be a job promotion, a new job, a graduation or in this case a new car. Well at least congratulations are in order when you purchase your first car! Right?

Don’t you remember the thrill of making your very first car purchase. I do, it was a 1975 Ford Mustang and it was so cool. Only problem was it was a stick shift and I only knew how to drive an automatic, but it was such a good deal.

I bought if at an car auction with a neighbor friend of my Grandma’s and he promised he would teach me how to drive it, and he did! It was such a great car and I had it until I decided to move to San Francisco right out of college.

For sure I did not want a stick shift in San Francisco and I certainly did not want to drive it there, so I gave it to my dad. He always helped pay for my car insurance and my gas when I was in college, so really I owed him one!

  • Begin with a Basic Black card base 5 ½ x 8 ½”. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • With the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine and the Layering Circle Dies, cut a large circle from the center of a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Calypso Coral and dry emboss the Coral panel with the Seabed 3-D embossing folder.
  • Layer the Calypso Coral panel on the front of the Basic Black card.
  • Next, cut the one circle smaller from the Whale of A Time Designer Series pack and layer it onto the opening on the Calypso Coral panel.
  • Use the Whale Done Bundle to stamp the whale in Pacific Point ink. Punch him out and layer him with some Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the bottom of the circle.
  • Stamp the greeting on Basic White cardstock in Memento Black ink and cut out using the paper snips.  Add an accent layer in Pacific Point cardstock and attach greeting to the upper left side of the circle.

For the inside cut a 4 x 5 ¼” layer of White cardstock and with Memento Black ink stamp the Congratulations greeting from Happy Thoughts.  Add a turtle in Mossy Meadow and some little fish in Pacific Point ink.

See how easy it is to create something beautiful to celebrate those little and big life accomplishments. The Whale Done Bundle is in the annual catalog and because it is a bundle you save 10%, how great is that, plus if you add a little ink and paper to your order, you will qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration set. Come Sail Away

Yes, I know it is still winter, but sometimes in the midst of the cold I think of summer things, like swimming, fishing and sailing. I guess fishing could technically be a winter sport if one likes ice fishing! Today I thought it would be nice to create a card for the special men in our lives.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I have a hard time coming up with masculine cards. The Sailing Home set in the annual catalog is perfect for a masculine birthday, graduation, anniversary or just a simple thinking of you card.

  • Begin with a Night of Navy card base 5 ½ x 8 ½. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • Using the Stampin’ cut and emboss machine run a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Crumb Cake cardstock through with the Subtle 3-D embossing folder.
  • Cut a 2 ½ x 2 ½” piece of Night of Navy cardstock and a smaller 2 ¼ x 2 ¼” square of Basic White cardstock.  Stamp the sailboat and the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on the white square and then stamp the compass in Crumb Cake ink.
  • Layer the white onto the Night of Navy square and attach to the dry embossed Crumb Cake panel.
  • Wrap some Night of Navy bakers twine around the lower portion of the Crumb Cake layer and attach to the Night of Navy card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White for the inside and stamp the anchor in Crumb Cake ink and attach to the inside of the card.

I hope this card will inspire you to create something special for the men in your lives. I love this set and have used it several times to create a birthday card for my son. He is not much into sailing, but at least he enjoy my creations.
