Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! This is a great time of year to build your stash of handmade birthday cards, so we are sharing birthday-themed projects with you today. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

My cards for this month’s blog hop feature the Artistically Inked Bundle in the 2021-2022 annual catalog. I had so much fun creating with this bundle, I couldn’t stop myself, so today, I am sharing all three cards with you.

I wanted to create a birthday card using the Gold and Rose Metallic Specialty Paper. You will find this hidden gem on page 135 in the 2021-2022 annual catalog.

Card #1

Begin with a Very Vanilla card base. Add a 4-1/8 x 5- 3/8″ piece of Basic Black cardstock to the card front and a 4 x 5¼ piece of Gold Metallic CS. I used the Stamparatus to add the greeting in Memento Black Ink to a 3¼ x 4½ piece of Very Vanilla CS. The flower is stamped in one of our new In-colors, Polished Pink. I cropped the leaves and the center of the flower from the Gold Metallic CS.

For my second card I used the left over Gold Metallic CS to crop the leaves and create a strip across the middle of the card front.

Card #2

I stamped and cropped two flowers in Very Vanilla CS and layered them together with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The bottom section of the card front was created by stamping the marble stamp image and Polished Pink ink on Very Vanilla CS.

My final card is simply stamping. I began with a Gorgeous Grape card based and stamped a variety of floral images at the top and bottom of a Basic White card panel in Gorgeous Grape Ink, Fresh Freesia, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight inks. I added the Happy Birthday greeting from Sweet Ice Cream in Memento Black Ink.

Card #3

Party Fun and Happy New Year! December InKing Royal Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects.

This month’s projects are all about party fun – festive gatherings like New Year’s, birthdays and other fun times. How fun! We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Today I am excited to share a super simple Happy New Year card using the Gold/Rose Gold Specialty Paper. This paper pack is perfect for that added sparkle on all your holiday cards.

I began with a Very Vanilla card base and keeping with my them of simple but elegant, added an embossed layer of trees (Evergreen Forest folder) in Very Vanilla CS.

I then used the Gold/Rose Gold Specialty paper and cut Happy New Year with the Word Wishes Dies (pg. 166 AC). I used a small hole punch to create the added bling from the remains of my cut outs. This paper is so gorgeous I just did not want to waste any of it.

For the inside of my card I stamped the greeting from Heartfelt Wishes using Cinnamon Cider Ink and added some more homemade bling!

I do wish Stampin’ Up! had a Gold ink pad, as the Cinnamon Cider does not match perfectly, but it is close. I could have heat embossed the greeting with VersaMark ink and our Gold Embossing powder, but then it would not be a super simple card. LOL

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and will hop along to our next stop at Avery’s Owlery with Lynn Kolcun. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Have a Blessed Christmas and a Very Happy New Year! And before you leave please help me in wishing my upline and amazing leader, Brian King, a very Happy Birthday-with a sneak peek at the Flowering Rain Boots Bundle!

Happy Birthday Brian!!! Rain Boot Bundle coming January 4, 2022!

Sorry no Weekly Wednesday video as I am taking care of my mother in law for a week or so and that means no time to film, but I am excited to share with you two cards for our blog hop today.

The first card was made by my friend Cherie who came to visit earlier this month. This is actually a card she made on our World Card Making Day Weekend. Cherie is super great at creating very intricate cards! Thanks Cherie! I will do my best to give you directions.

Supplies and Directions

Soft Suede Ink

Blending Brushes-Use brushes to apply Crumb Cake Ink over embossed images
highlight some areas with Soft Suede Ink
Cork Paper-2 x3. Layer on top of embossed/inked layer
Pear Pizzazz CS-2 x 4 Crop leaves with dies from bundle
Nature’s Harvest Bundle-Stamp greeting in Memento Black Ink and crop with die in bundle

The second card is a super simple Thanksgiving card that I created using the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper pack.

I began with a Cajun Craze card base and used Cajun Craze Ink for the Happy Thanksgiving greeting. The greeting is from the Banner Year stamp set. I am telling you this crazy little set is so stinkin’ versatile!
