Fun Fact Friday~ How Much Space Do You Need to Craft?

It’s Friday, I hope you are all ready for the weekend. I know I am. One thing I have to do this weekend in clean my craft room. It is a mess! I am sure that never happens to you! Fun Fact: Why is it that no matter how big a crafting space is most crafters tend to create in a 8 x 8 space surrounded by misc. crafting supplies? Well, my craft rooms needs attention so I am crafting in a 4 x 4 space. Time to clean up, organize, and get energized.

Today’s card features the new Beautiful Butterflies Bundle and more of that gorgeous Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper. This paper pack can be yours free with a $60 order through my online store, CLICK HERE

Project Supplies

  • Blueberry Bushel CS- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, plus scrap for butterfly body
  • Very Vanilla CS- 4 x 5 1/4 (2)

  • Melon Mambo CS-1/8 x 7
  • Bloom Impressions DSP-4 x 5 1/4 cut on the diagonal
  • Stampin’ Adhesive

I started by cutting my piece of DSP in half on the diagonal and then attached it to the Very Vanilla panel. I then added my strip of Melon Mambo and trimmed off the edges. Stamp the greeting with Blueberry Bushel ink and add the 2nd panel of Very Vanilla to the inside.

Paper Tearing with a Twist! Weekly Wednesday #42

Good morning all, I trust you are having a fabulous week. Today I am sharing with you a quick and easy paper tearing technique to add a spark to your next card creation. This tearing technique can be used with any designer series patterned paper of your choice and of course, I am adding in my own personal twist by using half DSP and half regular cardstock.

You may have seen a previous video that I did with paper tearing call Rip and Flip. The Rip and Flip concept is the same except I am only using have of the rip and did not flip. LOL This way you can create two card using a 4 x 5 1/2 sheet of DSP and a 4x 5 1/2 sheet of coordinating cardstock.

This fun technique will take your card making to a whole new level. You can use sparkle paper or add that special bling to create a fantastic card. Have fun!

Project Supplies

  • 4 x 5 1/2 piece of DSP, I am using the Sale-a-Bration pack-Bloom Impressions
  • 4 x 5 1/4 piece of coordinating cardstock, I am using Blackberry Bliss
  • 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 cardstock for card base, I am using Shaded Spruce
  • Dies from Spotlight on Nature
  • Bling of choice, I am using the Tinsel Gems
  • Blackberry Bliss Ink
  • Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine
  • Stampin’ Liquid Glue or Adhesive of choice
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • So Sincere stamp set
  • Layers of Beauty stamp set

Fun Fact Friday-Blizzard of 1978

Well, it has been a snowy January in St. Louis and even though parts of St. Louis got well over 12″ of snow, it is not as snowy as the Blizzard of 1978. I was not living here at the time and I have no idea who took this photo, but apparently school was cancelled for two weeks. That was well before E-Learning.

Now the photo below is of my backyard when we got snow a few weeks ago. This was from the morning, but it continued to snow all day. Lots of shoveling, but then again, lots of exercise. It has been pretty cold here but not as cold as the winter of 1884 when the all time low temperature in St. Louis was -22! Burr, now that is cold.

And now today’s card with a much warmer scenery!

I started with an 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock that I folded in half to create my card. I then cut a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series paper and attach to the card front. This paper is so soft and elegant. I then stamped my greeting from Kindest Expressions with Misty Moonlight ink. This was a super simple card, but it looks so comforting.
