Sunflower Birthday-Favorite things Friday

One of my favorite things beside celebrating birthday and sunflowers, is spending time with family. I am so thankful for the last few days of being able to spend time with my mom, unfortunately, that time was spent in the Cancer Infusion Center, the ER and then the hospital. So I hope you understand why my post today is late.

As many of you already know my mom is battling cancer and this week her platelets and blood levels dropped to a dangerous level, so we spent the last few days together getting her juiced back up. Praise God, she is feeling much better and is now resting comfortable at home. God is so good! Any prayers you all can offer on our behalf would be greatly appreciated.

Now onto that favorite Sunflower Birthday card!

Today’s card was created with the retiring In-Color cardstock, Bumblebee. I used the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and stamped all images in Memento Black ink. The large sunflowers are stamped on a second layer of Bumblebee cardstock that measures 3¾ x 4½.

The small sunflowers and the splatter is stamped on a 2¾ x 4 Basic White panel that is mounted on some Early Espresso cardstock, 2-7/8 x 4-1/8. I attached the panels to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sunflowers are colored with the Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider Alcohol Blend markers. I added some Matte Black dots for a little more dimesnion.

I hope you enjoy today’s card and again sorry for the late post.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Positively Sentimental Swirls

Today’s card is a combination of two stamp sets, Sentimental Swirls and the Positive Thoughts. I love all the possibilities with this swirly set and it is featured in the January -June mini catalog.

I began my card with two of the retiring In-Colors, Misty Moonlight and Bumblebee. One of the butterflies is stamped directly on the layer of white and the other is stamped and cut out with the dies that coordinate with Positive Thoughts. The flowers are stamped in Misty Moonlight and also cut with the dies.

I stamped the greenery with Just Jade ink and the swirls with Misty Moonlight. The greeting is from Flowing Flowers and again stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.

The Sentimental Swirls can be combined with a variety of stamp sets to make a fun and unique creations. Have fun experimenting.

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Let’s Celebrate You-Celebrating Sunflowers

Tomorrow is the big day-Stampin’ Up! will announce all the retiring sets in the 2021-2022 annual catalog. I know we all have favorites that we hope will not be retired. What is your current favorite set from the annual (aka Big) catalog? Leave me a comment on your favorite set in the annual 2021-2022 catalog and if I have that set, I will do my best to create some cards for a post later this week.

I actually have so many favorites this time I cannot choose just one! LOL But if I absolutely had to choose I guess it would be the Celebrating Sunflowers on page 17, but I also love the Sweet as a Peach on page 61 and Welcoming Window on page 15! See what I mean, super hard to choose.

Today’s card is from Celebrating Sunflowers. I began with a Daffodil Delight card base and added a layer of Basic Black. I used the Blending Brushes on a layer of Basic White to create a soft blue accent on two of the corners with Pacific Point ink. With Memento Black ink I stamped a large sunflower in one corner and several small ones in tow of the other corners.

The Sunflowers are colored with our Watercolor pencils, but the Stampin’ Blends would work well too! I stamped the greeting in Memento Black ink and mounted it to the Basic Black layer on the card front. You could step it up by adding a few Matte Black dots, but I decide to keep my clean and simple.

Project Supplies and Measurements

  • Daffodil Delight CS- 8½ x 5½ (card base)
  • Basic Black CS- 4 x 5¼
  • Basic White CS- 4 x 5¼
  • Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set
  • Watercolor Pencils
  • Pacific Point Ink
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Blending Brushes
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive or Liquid Glue

I love it when a card comes together quickly. The trick for this card is to apply the Pacific Blue color with several light coats using the Blending Brushes. Use a soft touch to add the ink so you will get a light, smooth look. Use the Blending Brushes to add a touch of color to your next project.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

You are Turtle-y loved!

Wake up to Wednesday and these adorable Turtle Friends. Well, they look like they are a bit more than just friends. Don’t they: Oh but they are so cute and this bundle is available in the 2022 Annual Catalog (AC), at least for now. It is already March and soon some of the stamp sets in the AC will retire. That normally does not happen until June, but this year, we will say good-bye at the end of April. Stay tuned to see which ones will be retiring. I will let you know when the list is published!

Speaking of March, yesterday I totally forgot to announce the winner of our February monthly drawing, and the winner is Dolores Landfair. Congratulations Dolores and thank you for your February order. You have won a package of the Pastel Pearls!

What is the March give away you ask? Well how about a pack of Basic Jewel Rhinestones. How do I enter the drawing you ask? Easy, just place a $50 online order using the March Host Code ARG9T366 and your name will go into the drawing. Be sure that you are shopping with me and that you apply the March Host Code to qualify and I will enter your name in the drawing. Your name will be entered for each $50 order you place.

Today’s card begins with an Old Olive card base and yes, I am using some of the recently retired Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper. I hope you had a chance to grab yourself a pack last month. I had a few scrap lying around and just could not help myself. I have a feeling you will be seeing a few more cards with some of the retired papers. If you don’t have this particular paper, I am sure you can find something that will work in your crafting stash, but if not may I recommend the Bloom Where You Are Planted or the Beauty of the Earth paper pack. Both are excellent choices.

I used the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine and the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder to create a bit of texture on the Very Vanilla panel before attaching the designer series papers strip. The greeting is stamped in Evening Evergreen. The turtles are stamped with Memento Black ink and I alternated the shell colors with Old Olive and Evening Evergreen ink.

Project Supplies and Measurements

  • Old Olive CS- 5½ x 8½ (card base)
  • Very Vanilla CS-4 x 5¼ (2), 3/8 x2¾, 1-1/8 x 4½
  • Evening Evergreen CS-1¼ x 4¾
  • Daffodil Afternoon DSP- 2 x 5¼
  • Turtle and Friends Bundle
  • Hammered Metal Embossing Folder
  • Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine
  • Old Olive Ink
  • Evening Evergreen Ink
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive or Liquid Glue

It really did create a fun card. I love the Very Vanilla textured panel, it seems to fit will with the turtles. Add a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock panel to the inside and decorate as desired. I also think these adorable turtles would look great on the outside of your envelope.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae
