Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper

Today’s card was inspired from a card challenge that I did with my upline and private Facebook community. It is one of the many perks of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. If you would like to join us for these and many other private events, join my team today.

For my card challenge I started with a card base of Cajun Craze and added layer of the Simply Elegant Designer Series paper pack-I just love this paper. I added a strip and scallop circle using the Silver Foil Sheets, another favorite that pairs perfectly with this paper. The cut another circle from Smoky Slate and used the greeting from Simply Succulents. The circles are from the Layering Circle dies.

I love being a part of this Facebook community because sharing is much more fun with friends.
Did I mention if you join my team this month there is an extra bonus? Yup, you also get to choose an additional bundle free with your starter kit. There are so many great benefits and zero obligation to sell or create a business!

DEMONSTRATOR BENEFITS
  • Get 20%–25% off all Stampin’ Up! products.
  • Earn additional income based on your sales and recruiting—just how much extra income is up to you.

Thank You with Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper

My husband and I took a road trip to Perryopolis, PA and we stayed at an adorable Airbnb in Urbana Ohio. It was Monument Square Suites if you want to look it up. Not only was the suite perfectly cleaned and elegantly decorated, it was walking distance to some local shops and restaurants. The front and back of the home had the most amazing flowers and greenery.  I am always grateful to people who have a talent for growing things.

My card today is the extent of my green thumb.  We all have different gifts and talents. Mine just lies in paper crafting and not potted soil. LOL The Hand-Penned Bundle and Designer Series paper pair perfectly with water coloring and is the focus of my card today.

An Evening Evergreen Simply Succulent Thanks!

My daughter came home for a Father’s Day visit and since she is a first grade school teacher, she did not have to rush home so we decide to play in my craft room. Fun right? She created a variety of amazing cards, most of them using retired sets, but she also created this one and I am happy to share it with you.

It is a very simple design, but I love the elegance of the Evening Evergreen and the Very Vanilla cardstock. This background die would also look amazing in some foil sheets and or even some glitter paper. I hope you have fun creating! We certainly did!

Supplies

  • Evening Evergreen Cardstock- 5½ x 8½ card base (score at 4¼).

  • Stamp greeting in Evening Evergreen ink on some Very Vanilla cardstock and crop it out with frame from the Potted Succulent dies. Attach to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A Forever Favorite-Forever Fern!

I know there are so many new sets to choose from and yet, I just love, love, love the look of our Forever Fern set and dies. For my card today I did not use any of the dies from the bundle, but I did use the brick and mortar embossing folder.

I also did a bit of masking with the berries and the leaves. It was not hard and I love how it turned out. The “Thanks” is from the Artistically Inked set. Stamping directly on an embossed surface can be tricky so I used my paper snips to fussy cut the greeting and attached it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Supplies

  • Forever Fern Set
  • Blackberry Bliss Cardstock: 5½ x 8½ card base (score at 4¼)
  • Blackberry Bliss Ink
  • Shaded Spruce Ink
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4¼  x 5½-(outside), 4 x 5¼ (inside), scrap for greeting
  • Brick and Mortar Embossing Folder
  • Paper Snips
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/Liquid Glue

Directions

  • Score Blackberry Bliss cardstock in landscape position at 4¼.  Fold & burnish to create card.
  • Stamp berries in Blackberry Bliss and the ferns in Shaded Spruce on white panel, masking as needed.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to dry emboss Basic White panel with the Brick and Mortar embossing folder and attach to left side of card front.
  • Stamp greeting on white scrap and use paper snips to fussy cut.
  • Attach to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Attach white panel to inside and decorate as desired.

Watercolors and Simply Succulent

The Simply Succulent bundle pairs beautifully with the watercolor technique. Todays card was created using watercolor pencils, the new in-color inks and the watercolor painters.

I started out stamping the large succulents in black using Stazon ink on some Thick Basic White Cardstock. The Stazon ink works best for the watercoloring while Memento Black works better with alcohol markers. The inks featured in todays sample include Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya, Just Jade, Mint Macaron, Fresh Freesia, Evening Evergreen, Pear Pizzazz and Cinnamon Cider inks.

When I watercolor, I like to use a small acrylic block as a color pallet. I stamp the smallest blocks in the ink pads and pull color from them using the water painters. When using the watercolor pencils I take the water painter directly to pencil tip.
