Sunshine and Rainbows-Fun Fact Friday!

Today I am sharing with you a card I sent to a friend who recently had a knee replacement. I am not sure she has received the card yet, so if she sees this post before she gets her card then I guess she gets twice the sunshine and rainbows. The greeting I used to create this card is from Kindest Expressions and is available in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog. The background was created using the Bubble Up Technique that I shared with you on Monday! Click here if you missed that post.

I stared with a Flirty Flamingo card base and added a layer of Basic Black CS. The Bubble Up technique was created using about 10 drops of Calypso Coral re-inker and 1/4 cup of bubbles. I stamped my greeting with Memento Black ink and yes, I used my stamp positioner to make sure it stamped well on my background.

Fun Fact!

Did you know that according to science, soap bubbles do not actually fly, they float? The bubble film and the air trapped inside of it are incredibly lightweight. When they float through the air, what you are watching is the bubbles riding on top of denser carbon dioxide (CO2) gas molecules in the outside air!

Check out the fun bubble technique in video #166 from my Mondays Make it Monday Video Series. I know you will have fun creating with this technique . Create multiple backgrounds and save them for future projects. My card today took about 2 minutes to create!

Sneak Peak Embossing Folder-Weekly Wed.#23

The background on our card today was created using a new embossing folder that will be coming in the next mini catalog. The Birch Wood embossing folder will be a great addition for your fall card making, but it also makes a great textured background as you see in today’s video.

https://youtu.be/PqeDPA_o13Q

I used a Basic White card, some Blackberry Bliss cardstock and a panel of the new In-Color Petunia Pop. These colors come together to make a stunning card. I also used the Spotlight on Nature leaves and butterfly. See video for more detials.

I hope you enjoyed today’s video, join me next week for more stamping fun with two new videos. I will post a Make It Monday on Monday and another let’s make it together video for our Weekly Wednesday series. Until then, Happy Stamping!

Bubble Up Technique Samples

Hey all, yesterday I shared the Bubble Up Technique on my Make It Monday video, click here if you missed that video.

Today I am sharing the two cards that we created at my June stamp camp using this fun and a little bit messy technique. If you prepare your surface well, it really is not that messy and since we are using Stampin’ Up! re-inkers, they wash right out.

I shared these cards in yesterday’s video, but they were not included in the pdf project sheet. The black accent is from the Wonderful Thoughts dies. I started with a Basic White card base and added a layer of Balmy Blue. The greeting is cut with Paper Snips and I showed how to create this kind of tag in last weeks Weekly Wednesday video, click here if you missed that post.

Our second card was also created with the blue Bubble Up background. I began this card with the Azure Afternoon cardstock and added a layer of Basic Black before the technique background panel. I used the Texture Floral Bundle for my flowers and accent pieces. The greeting is from the Courage & Faith stamps set.

I hope you will give this fun technique a try. It really is an easy way to create a variety of beautiful backgrounds for your next card making session. Happy Stamping!

Bubble Up Technique ~ Make It Monday #167

Today I am excited to share with you a technique I am calling Bubble Up! It is a fun technique that uses bubbles and re-inkers. There are several videos on the internet using dishwashing soap, water, and re-inkers. I just found it a bit easier to use already prepared bubble from the dollar store. I hope you enjoy this fun technique. It is certainly one you can do outside with your kids this summer.

A Closer Look…..

Calypso Coral Re-inker
Basic Gray Re-inker

This is one of those techniques that turns out different every time so have fun playing around with different colors. Let me know in the comments what you think about this technique. If you try this at home and I hope that you will, please consider sharing your projects with us. Happy Stamping!

Fields In Bloom~Fun Fact Friday!

Did you know there really is a famous flower field in California. The Flower Fields is located in Carlsbad, California and host over one hundred thousand visitors annually. No joke. There are 13 different color varieties of flowers planted and the 10 weeks of color takes about 10 months to prepare. 55-acres are devoted to raising the ranunculus bulb crop; approximately five acres are used for other specialty flowers. Who knew?

Today’s card reminded me of the Flower Fields in California. I hope you enjoy looking up more fun facts about this beautiful place in California.

I began with a Peach Pie card base and added a layer of Garden Green. My flowers consist of Peach Pie and Garden Green, not as many colors as the fields in Carlsbad. I added a few birds in my fields, but I understand if you visit the real Flower Fields there is an amazing ocean view. Sounds spectacular. Happy Stamping!
