Hearts, Heart, Heal Your Heart!
Welcome to InKing Royalty’s January Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature hearts, so prepare yourself for lots and lots of love. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Today’s blog hop inspired me to create two fun fold heart cards and instead of the traditional red and pink hearts, I used the Heartfelt Bundle, Misty Moonlight ink and the New Misty Moonlight Designers Series Paper pack that will be featured in the next annual catalog.
Card #1
Begin with a standard white card base and cut 2¼” from the front of the card. Turning it in landscape position, add three hearts along the cut edge of the cardstock, attaching only the top half of the hearts to the card front. The third heart is attached in the middle with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The hearts were created using the Misty Moonlight Designer Series paper and the two punches from the Heartfelt Bundle. The stamped heart and the sentiment, although visible when the card is closed, is actually the inside and stamped directly on the card base in Misty Moonlight ink.
The smaller fancy heart is stamped on white scrap, cut out using the paper snips and attached to the larger heart with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The inside greeting, from Heal Your Heart is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink. This Heal Your Heart stamp set is part of the Sale-A-Brations event and can be yours FREE with a $50 purchase through February of 2021.
Card # 2
This is another fun fold card with a few extra challenges. The outside image of this card is actually a combination of the card base front (Misty Moonlight) and an extension of the inside layer (Basic White) creating a fun fold.
- Begin with a Misty Moonlight card base 5 ½ x 8 ½. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
- Next cut a 5 ½ x 6 ½ piece of Basic White cardstock and in landscape position, score at 4 ¼”, this will create the inside portion of the card and the flap that folds to the front of the Misty Moonlight card front.
- Attach the white that measures 4¼ x 5½” to the inside of the Misty Moonlight card base and stamp the Happy Valentines Day heart greeting in the center. The 2¼ x 5 ½” flap will fold to the outside of the card.
- On the 2¼ x 5 ½” flap stamp the small heart in Misty Moonlight ink on both sides. Again, this flap will fold to the front of the card.
- Using the hearts from the Heartfelt bundle, stamp and punch 4 large hearts.
- Attach two of the hearts to the outside and two hearts to the inside of the white 2¼ x 5 ½” flap, aligning the center of the hearts with the edge of the cardstock and attaching both hearts back to back.
- When you open the white card flap it reveals the next layer which is actually the Misty Moonlight card front pictured in the image below.
- To create the three heart panel on the Misty Moonlight card front, punch three scalloped hearts from Misty Moonlight cardstock.
- Stamp the smallest heart from the Heartfelt Bundle in Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White cardstock and punch out three hearts using the smooth heart punch. Attach these to the scallop hearts.
- Layer the three hearts in a triangle pattern on the front of the Misty Moonlight card base. Stamp the arrow at the bottom in Misty Moonlight ink.
- Open this flap to reveal the inside of the card pictured below.
