Hearts, Heart, Heal Your Heart!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s January Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature hearts, so prepare yourself for lots and lots of love. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Today’s blog hop inspired me to create two fun fold heart cards and instead of the traditional red and pink hearts, I used the Heartfelt Bundle, Misty Moonlight ink and the New Misty Moonlight Designers Series Paper pack that will be featured in the next annual catalog.

Card #1
Begin with a standard white card base and cut 2¼” from the front of the card. Turning it in landscape position, add three hearts along the cut edge of the cardstock, attaching only the top half of the hearts to the card front. The third heart is attached in the middle with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

The hearts were created using the Misty Moonlight Designer Series paper and the two punches from the Heartfelt Bundle. The stamped heart and the sentiment, although visible when the card is closed, is actually the inside and stamped directly on the card base in Misty Moonlight ink.

The smaller fancy heart is stamped on white scrap, cut out using the paper snips and attached to the larger heart with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

The inside greeting, from Heal Your Heart is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink. This Heal Your Heart stamp set is part of the Sale-A-Brations event and can be yours FREE with a $50 purchase through February of 2021.

Card # 2
This is another fun fold card with a few extra challenges. The outside image of this card is actually a combination of the card base front (Misty Moonlight) and an extension of the inside layer (Basic White) creating a fun fold.

  • Begin with a Misty Moonlight card base 5 ½ x 8 ½. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • Next cut a 5 ½ x 6 ½ piece of Basic White cardstock and in landscape position, score at 4 ¼”, this will create the inside portion of the card and the flap that folds to the front of the Misty Moonlight card front.
  • Attach the white that measures 4¼ x 5½” to the inside of the Misty Moonlight card base and stamp the Happy Valentines Day heart greeting in the center. The 2¼ x 5 ½” flap will fold to the outside of the card.
  • On the 2¼ x 5 ½” flap stamp the small heart in Misty Moonlight ink on both sides. Again, this flap will fold to the front of the card.
  • Using the hearts from the Heartfelt bundle, stamp and punch 4 large hearts.
  • Attach two of the hearts to the outside and two hearts to the inside of the white 2¼ x 5 ½” flap, aligning the center of the hearts with the edge of the cardstock and attaching both hearts back to back.
  • When you open the white card flap it reveals the next layer which is actually the Misty Moonlight card front pictured in the image below.
  • To create the three heart panel on the Misty Moonlight card front, punch three scalloped hearts from Misty Moonlight cardstock.
  • Stamp the smallest heart from the Heartfelt Bundle in Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White cardstock and punch out three hearts using the smooth heart punch. Attach these to the scallop hearts.
  • Layer the three hearts in a triangle pattern on the front of the Misty Moonlight card base. Stamp the arrow at the bottom in Misty Moonlight ink.
  • Open this flap to reveal the inside of the card pictured below.

Sweet Ice Cream Birthday-You’re so cool!

Birthday can be so fun, even when you are getting older and especially if you are celebrating with ice cream! I don’t eat ice cream very often, but when I do it usually has come kind of chocolate in it.

Fun fact: When I was 16 years old I worked at Bresler’s Ice Cream shop. It was very similar to a Baskin Robins and was located inside the mall, which was perfect for any teenager. The best part about working there was always being busy, too busy to gain any weight from eating ice cream. That may not be the case these days! LOL

So today’s card was inspired by a Sketch Challenge from one of my Stampin’ Up! uplines Mary Fish. I used the New Sweet Ice Cream bundle in the JJ2021 Spring mini catalog.

It is part of the Ice Cream Corner Suite Collection. A suite collection is a variety of related items that Stampin’ Up! coordinates for you, making it even easier to create beautiful things! The Suite collection is only $56 and entitles you to a FREE Sale-A-Bration set, but hurry Sale-a-Bration ends at the end of February!

  • Begin with a Basic White card base 5 ½ x 8 ½. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • Cut another layer of white that measures 4 x 5 ¼” and using the sketch challenge below ½” strips of cardstock to create the diagonal design.  I used Rococo Rose, Highland Heather and Seaside Spray.
  • Using a few pieces of scrap basic white cardstock, I stamped and punched out the ice cream cone, adding the waffle texture with Early Espresso ink.
  • I stamped the Happy Birthday and You’re so Cool sentiment in Memento Black ink.
  • Finally I added some of those sweet Pastel Pearls from the Hydrangea Hill Suite Collection in the JJ2021 Spring catalog.

Here is Mary’s sketch challenge! Maybe it will inspire you to create a card and if you do of’ course I would love to see it. Feel free to email it to me or share it with me on my Facebook page, #SketchChallenge#12!
Thanks Mary!

I also decorated the inside of my card with a few sweet ice cream cones. The cones are stamped in Cinnamon Cider directly to the inside cards. The Rococo Rose ice cream is also stamped direct to paper, but the Gorgeous Grape is stamped and punched out with the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch that is part of the bundle.

I stamped the sentiment in Memento black ink and the sprinkles in Cinnamon Cider.

I hope you will stop back tomorrow for some more sweet cards ideas and be sure to mark your calendars for this Wednesday January 20th, because it is time for the Inking Royal Blog Hop and we have some very fun project ideas for you!

Come Sail Away

Yes, I know it is still winter, but sometimes in the midst of the cold I think of summer things, like swimming, fishing and sailing. I guess fishing could technically be a winter sport if one likes ice fishing! Today I thought it would be nice to create a card for the special men in our lives.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I have a hard time coming up with masculine cards. The Sailing Home set in the annual catalog is perfect for a masculine birthday, graduation, anniversary or just a simple thinking of you card.

  • Begin with a Night of Navy card base 5 ½ x 8 ½. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • Using the Stampin’ cut and emboss machine run a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Crumb Cake cardstock through with the Subtle 3-D embossing folder.
  • Cut a 2 ½ x 2 ½” piece of Night of Navy cardstock and a smaller 2 ¼ x 2 ¼” square of Basic White cardstock.  Stamp the sailboat and the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on the white square and then stamp the compass in Crumb Cake ink.
  • Layer the white onto the Night of Navy square and attach to the dry embossed Crumb Cake panel.
  • Wrap some Night of Navy bakers twine around the lower portion of the Crumb Cake layer and attach to the Night of Navy card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White for the inside and stamp the anchor in Crumb Cake ink and attach to the inside of the card.

I hope this card will inspire you to create something special for the men in your lives. I love this set and have used it several times to create a birthday card for my son. He is not much into sailing, but at least he enjoy my creations.

We are all loved! Sunday Wisdom

Who is Jesus for you?

What are you looking for?

What’s the goal of your life?

Jesus invites each of us to “come and see” for ourselves that his word is true and everlasting.

“Come and see” is God’s invitation to grow closer to the one who created us. The one who loves us, regardless of how far we stray. and without his grace, mercy, and help we could not find him.

So allow yourself to be loved, to be accepted, to know that you are an important piece in the puzzle of life. Let us all grow in the knowledge of His love and truth and may the Holy Spirit set our hearts on fire to be Christ to all we meet.  For we are all His and we are all loved!

Thinking of You-Framed for You!

This simple Thinking of you card is so full of color and was created using the Framed for You stamp set in the annual catalog on page 47. I just know my mother-in-law will enjoy this one. I am not sure how much I will use the frame stamp, but for sure all the other one. This particular set what Stampin’ Up! calls a is “Distinkive” stamp.

These stamps start with a photograph and is turned into a photorealistic red rubber stamp! This innovative stamp style allows you to create images with depth by simply inking and stamping once. The detail is beautiful and you can find these stamps in the catalog by looking for the green scalloped circle marked Dist INK tive!

Now you all know that I like a saucy ink pad, but one quick tip when using the Dist-ink-tive stamps, especially the larger images is to apply even pressure on the stamp and not have a saucy ink pad! If your ink pad is too saucy, the detail of the stamp will be lost.

  • Begin with a Poppy Parade card base 5 ½ x 8 ½. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • Next add a Basic Black layer, 3 7/8 x 5 1/8”
  • On a 3 ¾ x 5” piece of Basic White cardstock stamp the leaves in Garden Green ink up the left side of the layer. Using the fern stamp, add a layer of sprigs, stamping off first to create a lighter image.
  • The greeting is stamped in Memento Black on Basic White cardstock and punched out using the Rectangular Postage Punch on page 168 in the annual catalog.
  • Next add some Poppy Parade flowers along the leaves.
  • Add a layer of Black and Poppy Parade to the image and attach to the card front.

For the inside cut a 4 x 5 ¼” layer of White cardstock and again the leaves, ferns and flowers along either the bottom as pictured here or go crazy and create something new! Remember, there are no mistakes in stamping, only creative opportunities!

I hope enjoyed today’s card and stop back tomorrow for some more crafting inspiration. I am not sure what the weather is like in your neighborhood, but here is St. Louis we are calling for a bit of snow. Looks like another cold day, I guess I will have to stay tucked in my craft room! Yay!

Sweet Ice Cream-Happy Birthday!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. If that sounds good to you then why not treat yourself to the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle? It is part of the Sale-A-Bration set and is packed full of sweet treats!

Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set
Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch

You can save 10% when you order the bundle #156244! Add some of the Ice Cream Cone Designer Series Paper and a pack of the New Basic White Cardstock or some to of the fun Blackberry Bliss Stripped Ribbon and you qualify for a FREE set.

I am having fun playing with this new bundle-there are so many fun things you can do with it. Here is one of the cards I created. If you have this bundle I would love to see your creations.

Although it is hard to tell in the picture, I actually started with a Basic White card base and layered the Granny Apple Green on top. The sprinkles, along with the ice cream scoops, are stamped in Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape and Poppy Parade.

The Happy Birthday sentiment from the bundle is in Memento Black. I used the ice cream cone builder punch to make the cone and scoops. The cone is punched from Crumb Cake cardstock and sponged with some Soft Suede ink.

I love ice cream, but rarely get three scoops because it either melts too fast or OOPS! falls off like on my card!

For the inside I stamped my cone directly to the inside of the white card base in Soft Suede ink and punched out another scoop of Poppy Parade. Whether today is your birthday or not I hope you treat yourself to this sweet set.

The bundle is in the JJ2021 spring mini catalog and is available until June, but hurry and get yours early….before they all melt away. Don’t forget if your order is at least $50 you can choose a FREE set from the SAB catalog.

Whether today is your birthday or not I hope you treat yourself and create something beautiful. I would love to see your creations! Feel free to leave a comment, I love hearing from you

Berry Blessings-Pals Blog Hop!

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team created projects featuring “Sale-A-Bration Products.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments. We love hearing from you! At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My card today features the Berry Blessings and Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper pack that is FREE with a $100 purchase during Sale-A-Bration. The paper is bright and cheery garden and fruits on one side and colorful patterns on the flip side, making it super easy to coordinate when making your card designs.

  • Begin with a Blackberry Bliss card base 5½ x 8½. Score in landscape position at 4¼”.
  • Next cut a 4 x 5 ¼”piece of Garden Green for the card front, but do not attach.
  • Cut three pieces of Designer Series paper from the Berry Delightful paper pack that measure 1 ½ x 3 ½” and layer them onto a 3 ¾ x 5” piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, evenly spaces them so a small border of Blackberry Bliss is exposed.
  • Attach this panel to the previously cut Garden Green layer and wrap some linen thread around both layers.  I wrapped three times, but you can wrap more if desired.
  • Stamp the greeting on a piece of Basic White cardstock and using the Stampin Cut and Emboss machine and the Stitched Nested Labels from the annual catalog (p 183) cut out the greeting with one of the smaller dies.
  • Next cut the size up from some Blackberry Bliss cardstock and layer the two together.
  • Use several Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the greeting over the linen threads.
  • Finally add a small linen bow to the bottom of the greeting.

For the inside all you need is a 4 x 5¼ piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped the greeting and the berries from the Berry Blessings set in Blackberry Bliss ink, to match the card base. The leaves are stamped with Garden Green ink to coordinate with the cardstock layer on the front of the card as well.

This really was a simple card, yet it looks so elegant. I love this paper and can’t wait to create more cards for you. But don’t go just yet, because more inspiration awaits!

Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on February 10th when our theme will be “Birthday Bonanza” where the design team will be sharing birthday projects that celebrate our family and friends. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

    Hee Haw! Darling Donkeys

These little donkeys really are darling! If you have never read the book Wonky Donkey, it is adorable, especially if you have younger children or if one of your children is a teacher.

My daughter teaches first grade in Chicago and I am sure her students will enjoy the cute story about a spunky hanky-panky cranky stinky-dinky lanky honky-tonky winky wonky donkey!

    • Begin with a Basic Gray card base 5½ x 8½. Score in landscape position at 4¼”.
    • Next cut a 4 x 5 ¼”piece of Seaside Spray cardstock and using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine, run it through with the Brick and Mortar 3-D embossing folder.
    • Adhere the faux brick wall to the Basic Gray card front.
    • Stamp one of the darling donkeys in Black Stazon ink on Basic White cardstock and use the watercolor pencils and the water painter to color the donkey. Be sure to use the Stazon ink and not Memento Black so that when you watercolor, the ink will not bleed.
    • Again using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the Stitched Shapes, but out the donkey using one of the stitched circles.
    • Using the layering ovals, cut a coordinating scallop circle out of Basic Gray cardstock and layer the two together.
    • Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, attach the donkey to the card front.
    • Stamp Hee Haw with Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock twice, cut out and attach to card front.
    • Next stamp You’re the best! on White cardstock and layer it to some Basic Gray and attach to the front of the card.
    • Layer a 4 x 5¼” piece of white on the inside.

The Darling Donkeys set is part of our Sale-A-Bration event and is FREE with a $50 purchase. If you are placing an order and it is less than $150, please use the Host code: SM7SJPZZ

I hope you enjoy these cute little guys and order your set today. I really appreciate your business and hope you will stop back tomorrow for some more crafting fun!

    Happy Birthday Dad-A Good Man!

Today is my Dad’s birthday so I thought I would share this fun card that I made for him with you. Happy Birthday Dad! He got a different card over the weekend, a fun fold card and some sweet treats, but whoever said you should just get one birthday card!

My card features the A Good Man set and all of the sayings in this set are so appropriate for my Dad, like I Grew up Loved, Being a good Dad starts with being a good man, and You do a great job of being a great guy, but I like this one from the Best Year stamp set better.

If you knew my Dad then you would know that he is a holy man and that he does everything for my Mom, really I am not sure what she would do without him. He is kind of a saint in my eyes. The years have been good to him and I have seen him grow in the love he has for his family and in patience for all of us, so there is still hope for me yet! Happy Birthday Dad!

    • Begin with a Gray Granite card base 5½ x 8½. Score in landscape position at 4¼”.
    • Using the Stampin Cut and Emboss machine cut a Night of Navy oval from the Layering Oval Dies and a Gray Granite oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
    • Stamp the image from A Good Man and color with Stampin’ Blends.  I used Night of Navy, Garden Green, Merry Merlot and Crumb Cake. I stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out with my paper snips for a more 3-D look. I stamped the image of on the Gray Granite oval and then layered my cut out version on top.
    • Layer the Gray Granite oval to the Night of Navy and pop up on the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Before laying the ovals on the card front, cut a 3 x 4¼” piece of Designer Series paper from the In Good Times paper pack and adhere to the left side of the card.
    • For the greeting cut 2 pieces of Gray Granite, 1¼ x 2 and 1½ x 2¼”. Using the Stamparatus, stamp the greeting from Best Year on the smaller Gray Granite rectangle with Night of Navy ink.
    • Cut a 1 3/8 x 2 1/8” rectangle from Night of Navy cardstock and layer all together.  Adhere the layered greeting to the left side of the card.  Lastly add the previously created layered oval image.

The greetings on the inside of my card are from two different sets. Happy Birthdays is from Peaceful Moments and is in the annual catalog. You’re One in a Million is from the NEW Quite Curvy set in the JJ2021 Spring mini catalog. I stamped both greetings directly to the card using Night of Navy ink.

I hope you enjoyed this card, my Dad truly is one in a MILLION and I hope his day is filled with blessings of love! Feel free to leave a comment!
