Flowing Flowers-InKing Royal Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! As we prepare for Spring, flowers are always on our minds. We are sharing flower-themed projects with you today and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I began my blog hop card with a 5½ x 8½ Basic Black card base and decided on Bumblebee for an accent. I simply ran a 4 x 5¼ piece of Bumblebee cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine using the Hammered Metal embossing folder, cut in on an angle and added a ½ x 5½ black strip to the back of the Bumblebee panel. I attached this accent color to a 4 x 5¼ white panel and attached to the card front. I featured the angle cut card technique in one of my Make it Monday videos a few weeks ago ,CLICK HERE if you missed that video. Join me every Monday for a new video.

The flowers are from the Flowing Flower stamp set featured on page 36 in the January – June 2022 mini catalog. I stamped the large flower twice in Bumblebee Ink on some white scrap and fussy cut using my paper snips. I stamped a few leaves in Old Olive directly to the Basic White cardstock and stamped a few more leaves to fussy cut.

I like the look of stamped and raised images on the same card and the distinctive ink stamp sets really add a more natural look. I just love the details in this floral image. Here is a closer look.

The greeting is from Flowing Flowers and the splatter is from Forever Fern. I used our Memento black ink for both the greeting and splatter, but our Black Stazon ink would be a good choice as well. Add a panel of white to the inside and decorate as desired. I hope you have fun creating with this amazing set.

Have fun hopping along with us to day! I hope our flowers of sunshine get you in the mood for Spring, after all it is only a few days away, so Happy Stamping and Happy Spring! Continue the springtime fun by hopping along to Sheryl Abernathy at Elegant Sentiments!

Seas the Day-Ocean Front

Here in St. Louis, the weather is beginning to warm up, so I thought I would share a summer like card with you. My card today begins with a Cinnamon Cider card base and features the stamps in the Seas the Day Bundle found in the January – June mini catalog. I added a layer of Balmy Blue to compliment the water.

To create the sand and water scene I used our Blending Brushes, Cinnamon Cider and Crumb Cake ink for the sand and a light layer of Pacific Point Blue for the water. The fish and crab are stamped in Calypso Coral and the starfish in Bumblebee.

I added a little greenery with Mossy Meadow and also stamped the greeting in Mossy Meadow. The happy birthday is from Artistically Inked. This is such a great bundle with so many possibilities. I hope this card gets you in the mood for summer.

Blessings of home-Favorite things Friday

I know I have said this before, but truly one of my favorite things about Stampin’ Up! is the coordination of products. I love the look and quality of our Designer Series Papers (DSP) and how easy it is to create a professional looking card.

Todays card features the Blessings of Home Bundle along with the Home and Heart Designer Series paper pack and it coordinates perfectly with Cinnamon Cider, one of our In-Colors. I added a layer of Early Espresso to the card front to really make this lovely designer paper pop.

I added a strip of Early Espresso cardstock across the lower portion of my card front and used the Label Me Lovely punch to add an accent of Early Espresso. I stamped the greeting is stamped in Early Espresso ink on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, then punched it out with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. I love this layered look. Both of these punches are featured in the 2021-2022 annual catalog.

Project Supplies and Measurements

  • Cinnamon Cider CS-5½ x 8½, (card base)
  • Early Espresso CS- 4-1/8 x 5-3/8, 3/8 x4, 2×3
  • Very Vanilla CS- 1 x 3½
  • Home and Heart DSP-4 x 5¼
  • Blessings of Home Bundle
  • Label Me Lovely Punch
  • Lovely Labels Pick A Punch
  • Early Espresso Ink
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/Liquid Glue

If you have not had a chance to order this paper pack, I highly recommend it. I think it would also coordinate nicely with Garden Wishes and Dragonfly Garden Bundles also featured in the annual catalog.

Measure of Love

Once a month I volunteer my time and my crafting supplies by teaching a card class at a local nursing home. It is a lot of fun and I am always amazed at how the residents love creating hand-stamped cards. They have a hard time cutting and punching things so I try to have most things prepared, but the Stamparatus has been my favorite tool to use with them because it is so easy for them to feel success. I have a few men in the group which is super fun!

I would say the most difficult thing about working with this group is coming up with really simple cards. I have about 10 regulars and I am slowly stretching them out of their comfort zone. We actually used embellishments last month and this month I am introducing Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here is the card I created for my sweet stamping friends.

I began with a 5¼ x 8 piece of Basic White cardstock and folded it in half. If you want to score before folding, score in landscape position at 4″ in. I mounted it on a 4¼ x 5½ panel of Real Red cardstock to create a backing for the card. My nursing home friends prefer white cards, so I added the back because we all need a splash of color.

I randomly stamped the red hearts at the top of my card and added the torn Garden Green cardstock to the bottom. The square Real Red measures 2¼ x 2½ and the white-2 x2¼ . It is hard to tell in the photo, but I did stamp and fussy cut the bowl. I thought it would be easier if they stamped the cherries and then added the bowl on top of them. I did stamp and pre-cut all the bowls for them.

The Happy Birthday is from Biggest Wish and I loaded that on the Stamparatus, so they could stamp as many times as they wanted giving a nice dark black greeting, plus they really love the how easy the Stamparatus makes it for them, especially those who are suffering from arthritis or recovering from a stroke.

Project Supplies and Measurements

  • Basic White CS- 5½ x 8 (card base)
  • Basic White CS-2¼ x 2½, 1 x 1
  • Real Red CS- 4¼ x 5½
  • Garden Green CS-4 x 5½
  • Measure of Love Stamp Set
  • Biggest Wish Stamp Set
  • Real Red Ink
  • Garden Green Ink
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Stampartus
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive or Liquid Glue

Satan’s Temptations-Sunday Wisdom

The season of Lent is a time for us to change our hearts, make a path for Jesus in all our ways and focus our minds on living and loving more like Christ.  However, as you know whenever we grow closer to the Lord, the Satan is always on our back just waiting to use our weakness against us and tempt us.

This is why now more than ever we need to commit ourselves to silent personal pray and to read and reflect on Scripture.  Jesus was led to the desert by the Holy Spirit where the Father was waiting to strengthen Him and unite with Him in a deeply personal way.

We see in today’s gospel that Jesus was tempted three times by the devil in the same way Adam and Eve were tempted in the garden of Eve (Genesis 3:1-6).  The devil strives to tempt all of us through pleasure, power, and pride. Jesus, after being strengthened in the desert was ready to completely surrender to the love and mercy of His Father.  Praise God for that because He saved us! But we can spit it the devil’s face, by our loving offering of prayer, fasting and giving to the poor.

Sure we feel weak sometimes and our sinfulness can easily cause us to turn away from Jesus, but that is precisely what the devil is hoping will happen.  So this Lent let us allow the Scriptures of each day to strengthen us to overcome our personal temptations.

Remember, Lent is much more about what God wants to do for us and how we allow God’s grace to work within us.  Be strong my friends and let us pray together: “Lord, strengthen me through your word this Lent.”

Utilize your Scraps! Favorite things Friday

I am totally loving the angled look on our cards lately, but what I love even more is uses my scrap pieces of designer series paper to create fun cards. I love our 6 x 6 paper and now I love it even more because super easy card was created with the left over pieces from a previous project.

I had several 2 x 5 ½ pieces of designer series paper left and I simply cut them in half on the diagonal. This time I cut corner to corner as opposed to the off set angled cards we created last week. I started with a Flirty Flamingo card base and added my scrap pieces of designer series paper to a 3¾ x 4¼ panel of Basic Black cardstock. I did trim my angled pieces just a bit to fit the Black cardstock.

I added a greeting using Memento Black ink and then a few simple Matte Black dots for some added dimension. I guess this is what you call clean and simple stamping – Stamps, Ink, Paper and Embellishment. #simplestamping

I would love to see your simply simple creations. Give it a try, it is a lot of fun!

You are Turtle-y loved!

Wake up to Wednesday and these adorable Turtle Friends. Well, they look like they are a bit more than just friends. Don’t they: Oh but they are so cute and this bundle is available in the 2022 Annual Catalog (AC), at least for now. It is already March and soon some of the stamp sets in the AC will retire. That normally does not happen until June, but this year, we will say good-bye at the end of April. Stay tuned to see which ones will be retiring. I will let you know when the list is published!

Speaking of March, yesterday I totally forgot to announce the winner of our February monthly drawing, and the winner is Dolores Landfair. Congratulations Dolores and thank you for your February order. You have won a package of the Pastel Pearls!

What is the March give away you ask? Well how about a pack of Basic Jewel Rhinestones. How do I enter the drawing you ask? Easy, just place a $50 online order using the March Host Code ARG9T366 and your name will go into the drawing. Be sure that you are shopping with me and that you apply the March Host Code to qualify and I will enter your name in the drawing. Your name will be entered for each $50 order you place.

Today’s card begins with an Old Olive card base and yes, I am using some of the recently retired Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper. I hope you had a chance to grab yourself a pack last month. I had a few scrap lying around and just could not help myself. I have a feeling you will be seeing a few more cards with some of the retired papers. If you don’t have this particular paper, I am sure you can find something that will work in your crafting stash, but if not may I recommend the Bloom Where You Are Planted or the Beauty of the Earth paper pack. Both are excellent choices.

I used the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine and the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder to create a bit of texture on the Very Vanilla panel before attaching the designer series papers strip. The greeting is stamped in Evening Evergreen. The turtles are stamped with Memento Black ink and I alternated the shell colors with Old Olive and Evening Evergreen ink.

Project Supplies and Measurements

  • Old Olive CS- 5½ x 8½ (card base)
  • Very Vanilla CS-4 x 5¼ (2), 3/8 x2¾, 1-1/8 x 4½
  • Evening Evergreen CS-1¼ x 4¾
  • Daffodil Afternoon DSP- 2 x 5¼
  • Turtle and Friends Bundle
  • Hammered Metal Embossing Folder
  • Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine
  • Old Olive Ink
  • Evening Evergreen Ink
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive or Liquid Glue

It really did create a fun card. I love the Very Vanilla textured panel, it seems to fit will with the turtles. Add a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock panel to the inside and decorate as desired. I also think these adorable turtles would look great on the outside of your envelope.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae
