Valentine Treat Mailbox-Make it Monday #96

Today I am excited to share with you this sweet treat mailbox for Valentine’s Day. I first saw this Mailbox in a larger pattern on Maymay Made it Crafts, and although I love the larger version, I wanted to create a mini mailbox so that I could get as many boxes from one sheet of cardstock.

I like creating specials treat boxes for all the ladies I work with. Since I have 22 to create a distribute, I love that this mini pattern allows you to make 4 fun boxes using just one sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock and two 6×6 sheets of designer series paper. It is a great way to maximize your paper and still provide your friends, co-workers and neighbors with a fun treat for Valentine’s Day. Although the boxes in this video are for Valentine’s Day, you can adapt them to any holiday. Have fun!

Here is a closer look of the inside of my mailbox. Fill them with your favorite treats. I added 9 Starburst candies to mine. I could not decide between mini peanut butter cups and starburst, so I know 4 mini peanut butter cups fit. Have fun filling them with whatever you decide.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Don’t forget it is still Sale-a-bration time and for every $50 you spend, you get a free product. If you are placing an order that is less than $150, please use our current host code.

Two Things-Favorite Things Friday!

So today, I thought I would share with you two favorite things and although they are totally unrelated, they are still favorite things!

First, I am just loving the new Cane Weave embossing folder. It adds such great texture to any card. I am using it today in combination with the Two Tone Flora stamp set. My card is created with Highland Heather cardstock and the images are stamped with Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape inks.

This embossing folder is featured in the new Spring mini catalog.

My second favorite thing is teaching a monthly class at my local nursing home, Mother of Good Counsel Home and here is just one of the cards they will be making today. I began with a Real Red card base.

The black checked strip was created using the Buffalo Check Background stamp which is sadly now retired. Yes, it was a favorite and as you can see I am still using it. I do tend to use retired products when working with my friends from Mother of Good Counsel because we all loved our retired things and it just feels good to keep using them.

The large hearts and the greeting are current products and available in the 2022-2023 annual catalog, but don’t go looking for the small hearts, they are long gone, but you can always use the new Country Bouquet Punch.

Big Hooray and Two Tone Flora

And now that we are into February it is good to know that I am keeping my New Year’s stamping promises. One to use more Stampin’ Up! In-Colors and two, to feature more products from the 2022-2023 annual catalog. I used the Starry Sky ink for the flower and the greeting. To create a softer/lighter image for the solid flower, simply stamp off on some scrap paper before adding image to your white panel.

My card base is Starry Sky CS and I added a white panel to the card front before adding a layer of the Sun Prints DSP. Layering is such a fun way to create a clean and simple card.

Although the new In-Color, Starry Night, is the only ink I used, my card today also features the Two Toned Flora from the spring mini catalog, and two products from the annual catalog, the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper pack and the Big Hooray stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. I am really loving how super easy it is to create elegant cards using the Two Tone Flora Bundle! I hope you create and share something beautiful today! Happy Stamping!

Sentimental Park Bundle

Hey all, happy Tuesday! I am excited to share the Sentimental Park Bundle with you today. This bundle has some great sayings and so many beautiful flowers. I am also using the new 3-D Cane Weave embossing flower. I decided to emboss a white panel and attach it to my white card and I have to say I love the look.

The other panels were created using the Sun Prints Designer Series paper pack that can be found in the 2022-2023 annual catalog. Notice the white flowers on the blue panel? I created these by stamping one of the flower stamps in this bundle with Craft White ink. They are so soft and I think they go well with this paper.

I stamped the greeting in Night of Navy ink directly to the Gray Granite DSP panel. Both panels are backed with some Night of Navy CS. To add just a bit more definition and some more of those adorable flowers, I stamped the small bunch of flowers on a scrap of Basic White CS, cropped with the coordinating die and then colored with my Night of Navy Blend Combo markers. The centers of the flower are colored with a Daffodil Delight Blend.

I hope you enjoyed this card. I really love how the Cane Weave Embossing folder looks on this card. I added all my panels and flowers with my Tombow Liquid glue. I did not use the Stampin’ Dimensionals as I thought the card itself had enough layering, but if you are hand-delivering your card creation, I think the Stampin’ Dimensionals would be a nice touch.

Happy Stamping!

You are the light of the World-Sunday Wisdom

Being in the dark can be scary, right? The last time the lights went out in a storm, I bet the first thing you reached for was a candle. I think in today’s gospel Jesus wants us to be a candle in the dark. That single source of light that can transform a dark room.

In today’s first reading from Isaiah, God gives us a clue on how to be the light in the dark. We can glorify Him by serving others.  We do this through the corporal works of mercy; feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked and giving to the poor.  This is when people see and experience God’s love. This is how we allow God’s grace to shine before others.

When we put away our pride and humble ourselves to help others, everyone wins and our unselfish act becomes the light in a dark world. God not only wants us to give Him the glory, but he wants all of us to share in that glory.  Trust me He notices and people will also notice your kindness. Then slowly your generosity will overcome the darkness.

So today, reflect on those people in your life to whom God is calling you to shine His light. Ask the Lord to reveal to you who is in need of an act of charity, mercy, compassion or forgiveness.  Ask Him for the grace to be the light in their darkness. Ponder those times in your life when God’s light was revealed to you, perhaps by a friend, loved one or even a stranger. I know when someone lifts me up I am filled with gratitude. And gratitude always leads to kindness.

So today, be there for those who dwell in darkness.  Put on the light of Christ and be the light of the world glorifying Christ by your light.
