Fruitful Blessings-Favorite Things Friday!

This time of year in my neighborhood not only are the leaves falling but also the acorns and our Fruitful Blessings Bundle is the perfect set to showcase fall. I began with an Early Espresso card base. I stamped the single leaves with Crumb Cake ink onto a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock and added it to the card front.

The leaves and the acorns were all colored with our Watercolor Pencils. I used a Blender Pen to soften the lines and attach them to a panel of Very Vanilla and Early Espresso with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is stamped with Early Espresso ink and cropped with the die from Autumn Leaves Bundle, another great bundle for the fall.

Feel Better Soon!

On Monday I posted a video on how to create a background using a watercoloring technique and today I am sharing a card that I created using that technique. I used Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, and Poppy Parade re-inkers to create my background. It is amazing how changing out the colors gets a different background every time.

I began with a Basic Black card base and added a layer of Highland Heather and then another layer of Basic Black before adding the watercolor layer. The greeting is from the Wanted to Say Dies and is cropped using Basic Black and Highland Heather cardstock.

Since it is cold and flu season I thought it might be a good idea to stock up on my get well soon cards. I hope you stay healthy! Happy Stamping.

Watercolor My World! Make It Monday #135

A few Sundays ago my friend Laura Rossmann taught a watercolor class in my home. What a great technique and it was so much fun to see all the colorful backgrounds everyone created. Laura inspired me to use this technique to create a few watercolor backgrounds of my own and I thought I would share them with you in this week’s Make It Monday tutorial. Thanks Laura, you are a great teacher!

A Closer Look

I used our Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, a Daffodil Delight spot, a Garden Green spot, and a Blueberry Bushel spot to create the background for my first two cards. You can do all colors at once or individually. Be sure to let your cardstock dry complete between colors and before you stamp and assemble your final panels. I added a few silver pearls to my first card.

For my third card I again used our Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, a Daffodil Delight spot, a Gorgeous Grape spot and a Balmy Blue spot. Your final project really does depend on the color combo that you choose and also where you place your paper on the the color palette you create. It is so fun to see how the final project turns out once it dries completely.

I used the Night Divine stamp set on all three cards and I stamped the greetings with Night of Navy and Memento Black ink. Again be sure that your project is completely dry before stamping and assembling your final project. I decided to add a few very small pearls to my last card but you could also use some colored gems.

Laura’s class inspired me and I hope my cards today inspire you to play around with this technique and create something unique and beautiful. Happy Stamping!

Walk in the Forest-Favorite Things Friday!

Happy Friday! Today I am hosting my in-person stamps, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. Being with my stamping friends really is one of my favorite things. I thought I would give you a sneak peek of one of our cards that I created using the new Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper and the greeting from Beary Cute Bundle. I really do love the font on this Merry Christmas stamp and the size seems to be just perfect for most of my holiday greeting cards!

After cutting the supplies for this card I decided to challenge myself to use the scraps from the Blue dotted designer series paper to create another card. Here is a closer look at that card.

I hope you like it and that it inspires you to create cards using your left over designer series paper scraps. Happy Stamping!

Fragrant Forest Trees, Trees, Trees!

Hello my stamping friends! It is Wednesday and the weather is unseasonably warm. I do believe the predicted high for St. Louis is 82! With weather so warm it is hard to get into the holiday decorating spirit, but I am not having an issue crating holiday cards. LOL

If you have not checked out the new Fragrant Forest Background stamp on page 27 in the Holiday catalog, what are you waiting for? Hahahaha….no seriously it is a great stamp.

For my card today I combined the Fragrant Forest with the Graceful Deer background set. Of course I had to fussy cut my deer so that he would be peeking through the trees. I stamped the trees with Shaded Spruce ink, the deer with Pecan Pie, and the greeting with Night of Navy.

The greeting is from the Night Divine stamp set. I decided to add a few rhinestones for a bit of sparkle, because at Christmas everyone loves sparkle! Right? I hope this card inspires you to create something beautiful to share with your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Happy Stamping!

Winter Snow Scene-Favorite Things Friday!

YAY it’s the weekend! Well at least for me because I don’t work on Fridays and that truly is one of my favorite things. Today I thought I would round out the week with one last card using our Beary Cute Bundle. Although I am not using those adorable polar bears today, I did create a winter scene the accent stamp for the trees.

My card base is Garden Green and I used our Garden Green ink for the trees and the greeting. But before I added my snow bank and trees I embossed a Basic White panel with the Snowflake Sky embossing folder featured in the Holiday Mini catalog.

Beary Cute Bundle of Trees

Happy Wednesday everyone! Wow the weather across the US has taken a turn for the cold……finally we can get in the mood for the holidays, after all it is now November and you know how early Black Friday begins these days. There are only 22 days until Thanksgiving. Bring on that turkey!

Monday I shared a few cards using the Beary Cute Bundle as part of my Make it Monday video series. CLICK HERE if you missed that post. So today, I am using that stinkin cute punch and some of the tress to create a forest look for our polar bear friend. Yes, I used my Paper Snips to cut the trees, but they are super easy to cut. To create a bit of interest on my trees I used a blender pen and some white craft ink add a snowy look.

I began with a Boho Blue card base. For the background I added a layer of Basic White cardstock and used a Blending Brush to add some Boho Blue ink to create the sky. For the snow drifts, I torn some Basic White cardstock and used a sponge dauber to add some Smoky Slate to the edges and then added it to the bottome of the panel.

The trees were stamped with Garden Green ink on Garden Geen cardstock and again for the snow I used a blender pen and some White Craft ink. Our stinkin’ cut polar bear is peeking out from the trees. I love it, he is so cute! I hope you get inspired to create something beautiful today. Happy Stamping!
