Happy Birthday

Birds and More-Happy Spring!

Well I thought it was spring….that was until we got snow this week. Here in St. Louis, you just never know about the weather. I was just starting to get used to having the windows open at night and hearing the birds early each morning. They are actually very good alarm clocks! Oh well, now I have the heat on, but at least you can enjoy this springtime card.

This is actually one of the cards I featured last month at my March Stamp Camp. If you live in the St. Louis area and want to join us for our monthly card class we would love to have you. Class cost is only $15 or FREE with a $25 order, so CLICK HERE for my calendar of events.

Don’t live in the St. Louis area, no problem, join in the monthly stamping fun virtually. Place a $25 order and use the current host code and I will email you the project instructions and video link. Our host code is: WP3RWEW3

This month you also have an opportunity to earn the Make it Monday One Sheet Wonder cards instructions. We made 11 cards from one sheet of designer series paper. If you missed that post, just CLICK HERE

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Happy Birthday You Sweet Thing!

Did you know that a NEW Stampin’ UP! catalog is on it’s way? That’s right and as a Stampin’ UP! demonstrator I get a sneak peak and the opportunity to purchase some of the new stamp sets that will be available to everyone next month. That is just one of the many perks of being a demonstrator, that and of course the discount! LOL

If you would like a discount and the opportunity for sneak previews, plus invitations to other fun demonstrator only events, then maybe it is time for you to join my team. It will be your best decision ever, trust me! For more info, CLICK HERE or feel free to contact me via email anytime!

Today I am excited to share a card that features two of the sets that will be carrying over to our new catalog. Celebrate Sunflowers that is pictured on page 13 in the current annual catalog and the Sweet Strawberry set featured in the current mini catalog will both be coming to the new 2021-2022 annual catalog.

  • Begin with a 5½ x 8½” piece of Bumblebee cardstock. In landscape position, (aka the long side), score at 4 ¼”.   Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼”piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the large rectangle die from Ornate Layers.
  • Attach the layer to the card front.
  • Stamp the small sunflower in Memento Black ink on some Basic White cardstock and crop it out using the Sunflower dies from the bundle.
  • Color the Stampin’ Blends or the Watercolor pencils to color the sunflower in Daffodil  Delight, the leaves in Garden Green and the center in brown.
  • Next cut a 2¼ x 3½” piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp a greeting from the Sweet Strawberry bundle in Blackberry Bliss ink and attach it to the center of the ornate layer.
  • Now add the small sunflower and you have a very elegant birthday card.

This looks so elegant and took no time at all to create. I love how simple it is to dress up an ordinary card with the dies from Ornate Layers. I hope you will give them a try! I would love to see what you create so feel free to email me your creations!

Our current host code is: RYXTY496 Be sure to add and apply the code before submitting your order!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow as I will be sharing a card made with one of the new sets from the upcoming 2021-2022 cards catalog.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Milestone birthday’s are always fun to celebrate and turning 50 can be as much fun as turning 16! Right! Today’s card features the So Much Happy Bundle and the Playful Alphabet Dies, which makes creating that customized birthday card a breeze!

  • Begin with a 5½ x 8½ ” piece of Basic Black cardstock. In landscape position, (aka the long side), score at 4 ¼”.   Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5¼’ piece of Petal Pink cardstock and attach it to the card front.
  • Cut a 3 ¼ x 4 ½ “piece of Melon Mambo Designer Series paper and attach it to the pink panel.
  • Next use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the Happy Dies from the So Much Happy bundle to cut the Happy with Basic Black cardstock and add it to the Melon Mambo panel.
  • Use the star dies and Rococo Rose cardstock to add a little happy to the HAPPY!
  • Use Petal Pink, Melon Mambo and Rococo Rose cardstock to cut out some small balloons.
  • Use the Playful Alphabet Dies and choose the appropriate number for your birthday greeting.  I used “50”! Attach the numbers to the card front using liquid glue.
  • For the inside of the card, cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Petal Pink cardstock and a 3 ¾ x 5” piece of Basic White.
  • Layer both to the inside panel of the card base.
  • Use the larger balloon dies from the Happy Dies to create a Melon Mambo and Petal Pink balloon.

I waited a long time to add these amazing dies to the crafting supplies and I am so glad I did. Now creating those special, one of a kind birthday greeting for folks of all ages is a snap. A Well Said-Art Gallery Kind of Birthday!

I love it when things come together and todays cards features three awesome sets that go perfectly together. The florals for the Art Gallery Bundle are the perfect card front for a special birthday card. The pop of black wording from the Well Said bundle makes an ideal card for anyone, but especially for someone who loves blue and flowers.

NOTE: The black outline around the image is for easy viewing only and is not actually part of the card.
  • Begin with a Basic White card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼.  Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5¼” piece of Pacific Point cardstock and use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine dry emboss it with the new Painted Texture 3-D embossing folder and attach to the card front.
  • Add a ½ x 4” strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock across the lower section of the Pacific Point panel.
  • Stamp the large flower bundle in Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut out using the coordinating dies from the Art Gallery Bundle. Remove the flowers and add the greenery to the card front.
  • Stamp the large again in Pacific Point ink and cut out using the dies and snip off the blue flowers to add to the greenery.
  • Next cut the Happy Birthday greeting from the Well Written dies in Basic Black cardstock and glue to the card front.

Now I know there was a little fussy cutting on this project, but it is worth it right? I am sure when you create cards using this set you will be inspired to send them to everyone you know. I am actually sending mine off tomorrow. My mother-in-law is turning 89 on Saturday! YIKES! My birthday may be coming up, but she still has a few year on me! LOL

Well Suited!

If you are like me and struggle creating manly looking cards, then you are going to love the new Well Suited Suite. It has everything you need to create that perfect card for the men in your life. Fun fact, the paper inspiration was actually created from a real tie collection from one of the employees at Stampin’ UP!

Today’s card was part of a make and take from a virtual stamping event and was created by fellow demonstrator Sally Nusbaum. Thanks Sally!!!

This second card was also included in the virtual make and take, but I changed up the original card just a bit. This one was created for a woman and the jewel bling to create the necklace was made using the Opal Rounds from the Sand and Sea Suite pictured on page 41 of the January thru June 2021 catalog.

The “Happy Birthday” greeting is stamped in Rococo Rose ink and punched out using the Double Oval Punch.

I hope you enjoy working with this suite and create many wonderful manly cards!

Happy Birthday With Sprinkles on Top!

This fun card features the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle and was inspired by my friend and fellow demonstrator Sally Nusbaum. Thanks Sally!! I know that I posted an ice cream card yesterday, but I just couldn’t resist. I love this set and the Ice Cream sprinkles are so much.

With Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay ink, it just makes me think happy!

  • Begin with a Bermuda Bay card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½”.  In landscape position, (aka along the 8½” side) score at 4 ¼”.  Fold and burnish.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock that measures 3 ¾ x 5 and a piece of Basic Black that measures 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.  Stamp Happy Birthday in Bermuda Bay ink to the top of the white cardstock and attach it to the black panel.
  • Cut a 1 x 3¾” strip of Ice Cream Corner Designer Series and a 1 ½ x 3 ¾” strip of Bermuda Bay.
  • Tear a small strip of the Bermuda Bay and layer it on top of the larger torn strip.  Layer the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series strip to the Bermuda Bay and attach to the bottom of the white panel.
  • Use the Ice Cream Builder punch to punch to cones from a 1 ½ x 4” piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock. Stamp the waffle design on both cones using Early Espresso ink. Attach the cones to the front of the card base.
  • Stamp and punch two scoops from some Basic White cardstock, one in Bermuda Bay and one in Melon Mambo ink. Stamp some dots using Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo ink around the cones and attach the scoops.
  • Use some liquid glue to add the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles to each scoop.
  • For the inside, cut a 3 ¾ x 5” piece of White cardstock and attach to the inside panel.
  • Stamp the greetings from the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle in Bermuda Bay ink.  Add some sprinkles using the dot stamp and Melon Mambo ink.

Sweet Ice Cream Birthdays!

I know it is really cold outside in St. Louis, but anytime is a good time for Ice Cream and the Sweet Ice Cream Suite makes creating fun cards super easy. I love this paper and actually had the opportunity to meet the designer of this suite.

The meeting was of course via ZOOM, but the young designer, Kaitlyn Zumbach, was just too cute. She is also the designer of one of my other favorite sets in the annual catalog, Forever Fern and the beautiful Forever Greenery Designer Series paper pack that coordinates with that set. Thanks Kaitlyn, you are crazy talented!

  • Begin with a Blackberry Bliss card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½”.  In landscape position, (aka along the 8½” side) score at 4 ¼”.  Fold and burnish to create your card.
  • From the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper pack choose your favorite designs and cut one 2 x 5 ¼” piece, one 2 x 3” piece and one 2 1/8 x 2 1/8” piece.  Attach these pieces to the front of the card base.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine, the Layering Ovals and the Stitched Shapes to crop two ovals, one from Blackberry Bliss cardstock and one from Basic White cardstock. Layer together with liquid glue and attach to the front of the card base.
  • Use the Ice Cream Builder Punch and the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper to punch out two cones and several scoops and attach these to the center of the white oval.
  • Stamp Happy Birthday in Memento Black ink on a 1 x 3 ¼” piece of white cardstock.  Layer it to a 3 ½ x 1 1/8” piece of Old Olive cardstock. Add the greeting to a 3 5/8 x 1 ¼” piece of Blackberry Bliss and add to the front of the card under the Ice cream cone image.
  • For the inside, cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of White cardstock and attach to the inside panel.
  • Stamp the greetings from the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle in Blackberry Bliss ink.  Add some sprinkles with Blackberry Bliss  and Old Olive ink.

Darling Donkeys Birthday Bonanza

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team created “Birthday Bonanza” projects to inspire you to make for all of your family and friends. We hope you enjoy and are inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments because we all love hearing from you! At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Today’s card features a Z-Fold card using the Darling Donkey’s Sale-A-Bration set. I created a similar version for my January stamp camp. Z-fold cards are so fun and easy too! I hope you enjoy hopping along with us today.

  • Begin with a Cherry Cobbler card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½”.  In landscape position, score at 4 ¼” and 2 1/8”.  The first score will fold your card in half, Fold the second score back onto itself to create the Z-Fold.  That’s all there is to it!
  • Cut two strips of your favorite Designer series paper 1 ¾ x 5 ¼”.  Layer these on the 2 inch panels.
  • Next cut two coordinating rectangles from the Stitched so Sweetly Dies, the larger one is cut using Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the smaller one with Basic White.
  • Stamp one of the Darling Donkeys on the White cardstock and color with watercolor pencils and layer this on the Cherry Cobbler rectangle.
  • Stamp “Hey There Friend” in Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White cardstock and cut out using the paper snips and put it up on the corner of the donkey with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Next attach the Donkey rectangle to the front of the Z-fold 2” panel making sure to only apply adhesive to the left side.

Now let’s create the inside-

  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of White cardstock and layer on the inside.
  • Stamp Happy Birthday at the bottom of this white layer and add a ¼ x 4” strip of Cherry Cobbler just above the greeting.
  • Stamp two of the other Donkeys on white cardstock, color with watercolor pencils and fussy cut out. If you prefer, just stamp directly to the inside white cardstock panel and color. Using the brown watercolor pencil create a ground under the donkeys.
  • Stamp you’re the best in Memento Black ink and Hee Haw in Cherry Cobbler on some Basic White cardstock and cut out with the paper snips.  If you don’t want the added dimension or if you don’t enjoy fussy cutting, simply stamp the words directly to the inside cardstock.

Z-Fold cards are so fun and while they look complicated, they really are simple, just one additional score line and you have it. I hope you enjoy all the wonderful cards made by my very creative teammates.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on March 10th when our theme will be “Cute Critters” where the design team will be sharing projects that will feature critters of all sorts to inspire you. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

In Bloom Birthday Celebration!

I just love the stitched flowers in the In Bloom Bundle. And yes, I know I probably have a ton of flower stamps and really didn’t need another one, but I could not resist these stitched dies.

I do love flowers, but since I do not have a green thumb, I decided this bundle was worth it because the flowers will live forever!

  • Begin with a Basic White card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼”.
  • Randomly stamp flower, big and small all over the front, use some leaves and some accent dots to create a designer series paper look. I used Rococo Rose, Pretty Peacock and Mossy Meadow.
  • Cut a 3 ¼ x 5” piece of Basic White cardstock and use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine to dry emboss it with the Meadow Moments embossing folder.  I used the one with the butterflies.
  • Use the flower and leaf dies from the In Bloom Bundle to cut a flower out of Pretty Peacock and Rococo Rose cardstock. The leaves are cut using Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • Layer a big and little flower w/leaves to the top left of the embossed white cardstock.
  • Stamp the Happy Birthday greeting from Sweet Strawberry in Pretty Peacock ink on some Basic white cardstock and then cut it out using the frame die in the bundle.
  • Add a small Rococo Rose flower and a few leaves to the corner of the greeting and pop it up on the cardstock with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Isn’t amazing that just stamping these flowers creates a beautiful designer series paper look. I am sure there are a plethora of other stamps in my collection that will create this same effect. Sometimes the simplest things make a card beautiful.

I encourage you to be creative with your stamp collection and create your own designer series paper. Don’t forget if you want to add the In Bloom Bundle to your stamping toys, you still have time this month to earn FREE Sale-a-Bration sets!
