Simple Stamping with Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper

Sometimes all you need is just a little simple stamping. For those of you unfamiliar, simple stamping is when a card is created using simply stamps, paper and inks. It is great for beginners because you do not need a ton of supplies, although you may want all the ink pads. LOL

Today’s card uses Highland Heather cardstock, Hand-Penned Designer Series paper, Memento Black and Highland Heather Ink and the Color and Contour stamp set. #simplestamping

Supplies

  • Highland Heather CS-  5½ x 8½, (card base), 3 x 4
  • Hand Penned DSP- 4 x 5 ¼
  • Basic White CS: 2-7/8 x 3-7/8, 4x 5¼  
  • Basic White CS: 4 x 5 ¼ (inside)      
  • Color and Contour Stamp Set
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Highland Heather Ink
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/Liquid Glue

Directions

  • Directions:
  • Score card base in landscape position (aka longer side) at 4¼.  Fold and burnish to create card.
  • Add Hand-Penned DSP panel to card front.
  • On Basic White CS, stamp flowers and greeting. Layer to Highland Heather and attach to card front.
  • Add 4 x 5¼ Basic White panel to the inside and decorate as desired.

Fall Squirrel Fun-Favorite Things Friday!

Well, if you know me then you are not surprised that Fall is one of my favorite things. I love the changing of all seasons, but nothing beats the beautiful colors God creates in the turning of all the leaves. Today’s card showcases the cute little squirrels in the Nuts about Squirrels set featured in the July-December 2021 mini catalog. I stamped the greetings and the outline of Mr. Squirrel in Early Espresso ink.

I began with a Crumb Cake card base and added a layer of Cherry Cobbler. The acorns are stamped with Crumb Cake and Gray Granite and the squirrel is colored in with the Watercolor Pencils.

I do hope you are enjoying the cooler weather and watching these cute little critters gather acorns for the winter.

Good-Bye Sweet Delicate Dahlias!

Well my friends, today is the absolute last day for you to order anything from the Sale-a-brations brochure, as the sale ends tonight at midnight (MT). If you enjoyed yesterday’s video, you are going to love our card for today. I am featuring the Delicate Dahlias for the last time. Boo hoo! Really going to miss this stamp set.

Similar to one of the Bermuda Bay cards from yesterday, I stamped the detailed outline dahlia in VersaMark Ink and added some black embossing powder, used the heat tool to emboss and used the Water Painters to add a bit of Polished Pink color. I used my Paper Snips and yes, I fussy cut the Dahlia.

I began with a Polished Pink card base and added a layer of Basic Black and Basic White. I popped up the Dahlia with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a few Matte Black Dots. The greeting is from the In Your Words stamp set.

Favorite Things Friday-Cutest Halloween

Friday’s are one of many favorite things in my life. For one, I am off on Friday’s and if I choose to I can spend the entire day in my craft room. Admittedly after I do so, it sometimes looks like a tornado hit. I am sure that has never happened to you. And two, it is time for another Favorite Things Friday.

Today’s card features the Cutest Halloween set and I chose the adorable kitten faces because felines are another one of my favorite things. Unfortunately we had to put our sweet “Fireball” to sleep a few years ago. It was difficult, but he was 15 years old. So for now the only kittens around here are on cards!

Cutting Measurements

All Measurement=inches  CS=Cardstock DSP=Designer Series Paper  Landscape Position=Long side   Portrait Position=short side

Supplies

  • Basic White Cardstock-5 ½ x 8 ½ (card base),1½ x 3¾, scrap for kittens
  • Smoky Slate Cardstock- 4 x 5¼  
  • Cutest Halloween Bundle
  • Detailed Trio Punch
  • Matte Black Dots
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Smoky Slate Ink
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive

Directions

  • Score card base in landscape position at 4¼. Fold & burnish to create card.
  • Layer Smoky Slate panel to card front.
  • Stamp greeting in Memento Black ink from Sweet Ice Cream on small white panel and use the Detailed Trio punch to corner round edges and attach to the center of card front.
  • Stamp three cat face outlines in Smoky Slate ink and face details in Memento Black, punch out with coordinating punch in bundle and attach to left side of the greeting. of card.
  • Add three Matte Black Dots and decorate inside as desired.

You have to admit they are pretty cute and best of all they do not shed and will ever need a trip to the vet! LOL
