Awesome Otters-Happy Birthday!

Today is my Dad’s birthday and I cannot tell you how special he is and how much he does for our family . So on this special day, I decided to share the card I made for him with you. It is “Otterly Awesome” just like my dad. Funny thing is that I will not be giving him his card until tonight at dinner so if he sees this post before then, the card will not be much of a surprise, but either way, I am glad to celebrate his special day. Happy Birthday Dad!

Supplies

Balmy Blue CS- 5½ x 8½, (card base), 4 x 5¼
Basic White CS- (2) 4 x 5¼
Awesome Otters Stamp Set
Memento Black Ink
Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend Combo
Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend Combo
Waves Embossing Folder (retired)
Picture This Dies
Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine
Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/Liquid Glue

Directions

Score card base in landscape position (aka longer side) at 4¼. Fold and burnish to create card.
Use the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss Machine and the Picture This Dies to crop circles in the Balmy Blue CS panel.
Line one of the Basic White CS panels behind the cropped circles and use a pencil to lightly trace around the circles.
Stamp desired images and greeting in the circle areas of the Basic White CS and color with Stampin’ Blend Combos.
Erase all pencil marks and layer the Balmy Blue circles over images on the white cardstock.
Attach images to card front.
Add white panel to the inside and decorate as desired.

Rain or Shine?

Flowers-Birds-Butterflies-Nature, Happy Birthday, Sale-a-Bration / January 4, 2022

Are you a rain or a shine person? I think I am both. I love the sunshine, but I also love a good summer thunderstorm. Not the tornado type like we have seen in the mid-west this year, but a cooling summer thunderstorm. There is just something magical about the day turning dark in the middle of the afternoon. And of course the amazing colorful clouds once the storm clears. Who knows there may even be a rainbow!

Good-Bye Sweet Delicate Dahlias!

Just Because Cards, Sale-a-Bration / September 30, 2021

Well my friends, today is the absolute last day for you to order anything from the Sale-a-brations brochure, as the sale ends tonight at midnight (MT). If you enjoyed yesterday’s video, you are going to love our card for today. I am featuring the Delicate Dahlias for the last time. Boo hoo! Really going to miss this stamp set.

Similar to one of the Bermuda Bay cards from yesterday, I stamped the detailed outline dahlia in VersaMark Ink and added some black embossing powder, used the heat tool to emboss and used the Water Painters to add a bit of Polished Pink color. I used my Paper Snips and yes, I fussy cut the Dahlia.

I began with a Polished Pink card base and added a layer of Basic Black and Basic White. I popped up the Dahlia with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a few Matte Black Dots. The greeting is from the In Your Words stamp set.

Peaceful Christmas-Favorite Things Friday

Well friends, it is Friday again and one of my favorite things next to Fridays would have to be the Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper that is featured in the August-September Sale-a-bration brochure. Here is a clean and simple Christmas card I created using the Peaceful Prints paper and the Evergreen Elegance stamp set.

This paper pack is so versatile and some of the images can be cut out with the punch that comes in the Peaceful Deer Bundle. Here is a closer look! I just love the coordination of this bundle. And those trees are the perfect size for any holiday scene.

Happy Birthday, Make it Monday Videos, Sale-a-Bration / September 13, 2021

Today I am sharing a technique with you on how to create your own background paper using a stamp from the Artistically Inked Bundle. This technique can be adapted to a variety of stamps, but I think the Artistically Ink set creates a wonderful marbleized background effect.

I stamped directly on my Basic White cardstock, but you could also use a high quality printer paper to create your own Designers Series paper.

Penguin Playmates – Favorite Things Friday

Paper Crafting Ideas, Sale-a-Bration / September 10, 2021

The number one thing on my list when I first got the Sale-a-Bration brochure was the adorable Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper pack and yes, I also have the Penguin Place bundle from the July – December 2021 mini catalog, page 33. I just can’t help myself, I love all things Christmas and most especially cute little Christmas playmates.

This paper is so much fun to cut up and create stinkin’ cute cards! I posted a video on Monday as part of my Make it Monday videos tutorials on how to use the Stitched Rectangles and this adorable paper. Click here if you missed that video. Check out my other videos by using the categories search located in the side bar of each post.

I started with a Soft Seafoam card base and added a layer of trees from the Penguin Playmates Designer Series paper pack. I tore a 3 x 4 panel of Basic White Cardstock in half and layered it on the DSP to resemble snow drifts. I then fussy cut some of the playmates with my Paper Snips and added them to the snow banks. Both greetings are from Evergreen Elegance.

Here is a look at the inside of my card! The white panel measures 4 x 5¼.
