Blessed Correction~Sunday Wisdom!

Today’s gospel teaches us the importance of lovingly correcting each other’s behavior. A healthy relationship always involves honestly. Wouldn’t you be grateful if someone helped you change a bad habit?  I personally would want to know if I was hurting someone. And yet, being directly honest with one another can be challenging. But guess what folks, Jesus never promised us an easy life. Then again, how can we tell if someone is trying to help or just being a gossip?

Gossip can be defined as is a story about people that is designed to hurt, not rescue, and spread among people anonymously.

How can I recognize a gossiper from a compassionate person just trying to help?
Well, first ask yourself is what you are hearing designed to help or hurt?
Does there seem to be a sincere desire to for accurate truth about all involved?
Did the person talk directly to the all involved as Jesus told us to do in today’s gospel?
And finally, what if the stories you are hearing were about you?

Jesus asked His followers to judge based on what they saw and heard from their own eyes and ears, this alone can help us avoid gossiping. Jesus calls us to be compassionate and understanding.  Even if we have to walk away from the situation we should do so with love and respect.  After all remember how Jesus treated the Gentiles and the tax collectors?  Shouldn’t we do the same?

Rustic Crate Blessed beyond Measure

Happy Friday! Today’s card was created with the new Rustic Crate Bundle featured in the Holiday mini catalog. I decided on the poinsettias and used Cherry Cobbler and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to color them. The crate was cut with Early Espresso cardstock and the accent pieces with Smoky Slate.

I noticed that the greeting did not stamp as crisp as I would like. Of course I noticed this after I put the card together, but if this ever happens to you there might be residual oils from manufacturing on the stamp, especially the photopolymer ones. Not to worry, because the super simple remedy is to use an eraser over the entire stamp and clean if off with a damp cloth or a baby wipe (no alcohol of course).

Here is a closer look of one stamped after I used the eraser technique. You be the judge! Happy Stamping!

I started with a Basic White card base and then stamped the spooky spider in Memento Black ink on a panel of Pumpkin Pie. I added a simple bow and a boo tag. Oh and don’t forget those stinkin’ cute acorn dies. They are stamped in none other than Pecan Pie! I hope this gets you in the mood for Fall because seriously, Halloween will be here before you know it! Happy Stamping!

Pick of The Patch Bundle-Make It Monday #125

Remember the pre-school poem or song about the five little pumpkins sitting on the gate? Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.-the first one said “Oh my it’s getting late.” The second one said “There are witches in the air!” The third one said “But we don’t care!” The fourth one said “Let’s run and run and run!” The fifth one said “I’m ready for some fun.”

Well I guess I should have create my card with a landscape format because I only have three pumpkins. LOL I created today’s card for a Shoe Box Swap next weekend where I will be stamping with 11 of my fellow demonstrators and friends.

Click Button Above or Photo Below to access You Tube Video-Make It Monday #125

If you have never been to a Shoe Box Swap it is like a stamp camp/stamp class in a box. Each of us will be creating a card and cutting enough supplies for everyone who will be participating. I will take all my supplies and set up a station as will the others who will be attending. Then we just travel around to all the stations creating each other’s card and at the end of the day we will have 11 cards. It is a lot of fun and I am looking forward to spending time with my stamping friends.

I guess if you are going to the Shoe Box Swap next week and you follow my blog, this is a spoiler alert, sorry! Either way, I hope you enjoy this card and it inspires you to created something beautiful today. Happy Stamping! Click the button below to download your free pdf project sheet!

Get Behind Me Satan! Sunday Wisdom

I just love Peter, don’t you? He gives us so much hope because even as close as he was walking with Jesus, he was still learning. How is it that one minute Jesus is singing Peter’s praise because of his profound spiritual awareness and the next minute is rebuking him for thinking in worldly terms. Isn’t that the way our Christian prayer life is, filled with ups and downs, highs and lows or desolations and consolations? Sometimes we get it right and other times we fall short.

Just like Peter you and I are showered with amazing grace and unfathomable mercy each and every day. Remember we are all children of God and His light shines in all of us, yes, God forever dwells in you and me and He will never abandon us. He will take care of all our needs, even when we fail to embrace the cross and fail to trust in Him.

Peter shows us that it is okay to fail and it is okay to try again. Peter eventually gets it. Right? He embraces the cross with a love for the Lord that goes so deep, he too is crucified for our faith. Jesus will never abandon us and like Peter, we will eventually understand the beauty of the cross. So if you are a little slow like Peter, have faith, never give up and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the one who knows you, understands you and loves you unconditionally.

Color Challenge or Color Challenged!

Sometimes I love playing around with different color schemes and at other times I seem to be color challenged. Of all my color choices with Stampin’ Up! I find that I use my Flirty Flamingo the least, so I thought I would challenge myself to see what I could come up with. I decided to use Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist and realized whenever I use a three color combo, I am color challenged! LOL

Today is my daughter’s 30th birthday and I am blessed to be able to celebrate her today. I know she will like this bright and cheery color combo. Happy Birthday sweetheart, let’s Celebrate You-today and everyday!

I used the Celebrate die from Wanted to Say, cropping the background pieces with Basic Black cardstock and the detailed die with Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party. The present and hearts are some of the dies included with the Wanted to Say die set. I then stamped the “You” from Sentimental Park in Memento Black. I probably should have stamped it with Flirty Flamingo ink, after all I am supposed to be challenging myself to use that color more.

Oh well, I guess old habits die hard! Let me know in the comments if you love a color challenge or if you are color challenged! Either way, I hope this card inspires you to create something beautiful to share with others. Happy Stamping!

Translucent Florals –

Well the weekend at Danvers Days was so much fun and the weather was absolutely beautiful, but not so much this week. So glad that event is not this weekend. CLICK HERE for our August Stamp Camp Class dates and be sure to RSVP if you are planning to join us.

My card today comes from a demonstrator event in July. Ornetta Gilliam was so sweet to offer me one of her card swaps even though I did not have time to make any cards for the swap. Thank you Ornetta for your kindness and your beautiful card.

Ornetta’s beautiful card was created using the Translucent Florals stamp set that will be available in the upcoming September mini catalog. It looks like she used Tahitian Tide, Gorgeous Grape and Old Olive ink. I think she used the Deckled Rectangles Dies to add the Gorgeous Grape and Tahitian Tide panels.

You cannot tell from the picture but she used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up that panel and added a few basic rhinestones to seal the deal. It is a very pretty card and I am so grateful to Ornetta for sharing it with us. Happy Stamping!
