Pick of the Patch-Favorite Things Friday!

Fall is just around the corner and if Fall is one of your favorite seasons then I am sure you are looking forward to come cooler weather. Here is St. Louis we have been very lucky to have a mild summer with relatively low humidity. So why not celebrate with one of the new fall stamps sets coming in the Holiday Mini catalog. Pick of the Patch is a fall punch bundle that I am sure you will love. Here is the card I created using this new bundle.

The colors for my card creation today are Early Espresso, Berry Burst and Pumpkin Pie. I added some Garden green leaves on my tree to give it an early fall look. My main white panel measures 3¼ x 3¼, the Pumpkin Pie is 3½ x 3½  and the Berry Burst is 3¾ x 3¾. The greeting is stamped with Espresso ink on a ¾ x 2¼ white scrap and mounted on a panel of Pumpkin Pie-1-7/8 x 2- 7/8.

I hope this card puts you in the mood for all things fall. This set and many others will be available for purchase on 6th, which is really only a five days away. Get your lists ready and order early because let’s face it these are stinkin’ cute and I want to be sure you get all your choices before they go on backorder. Happy Stamping!

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Color Challenge or Color Challenged!

Sometimes I love playing around with different color schemes and at other times I seem to be color challenged. Of all my color choices with Stampin’ Up! I find that I use my Flirty Flamingo the least, so I thought I would challenge myself to see what I could come up with. I decided to use Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist and realized whenever I use a three color combo, I am color challenged! LOL

Today is my daughter’s 30th birthday and I am blessed to be able to celebrate her today. I know she will like this bright and cheery color combo. Happy Birthday sweetheart, let’s Celebrate You-today and everyday!

I used the Celebrate die from Wanted to Say, cropping the background pieces with Basic Black cardstock and the detailed die with Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party. The present and hearts are some of the dies included with the Wanted to Say die set. I then stamped the “You” from Sentimental Park in Memento Black. I probably should have stamped it with Flirty Flamingo ink, after all I am supposed to be challenging myself to use that color more.

Oh well, I guess old habits die hard! Let me know in the comments if you love a color challenge or if you are color challenged! Either way, I hope this card inspires you to create something beautiful to share with others. Happy Stamping!

Translucent Florals –

Well the weekend at Danvers Days was so much fun and the weather was absolutely beautiful, but not so much this week. So glad that event is not this weekend. CLICK HERE for our August Stamp Camp Class dates and be sure to RSVP if you are planning to join us.

My card today comes from a demonstrator event in July. Ornetta Gilliam was so sweet to offer me one of her card swaps even though I did not have time to make any cards for the swap. Thank you Ornetta for your kindness and your beautiful card.

Ornetta’s beautiful card was created using the Translucent Florals stamp set that will be available in the upcoming September mini catalog. It looks like she used Tahitian Tide, Gorgeous Grape and Old Olive ink. I think she used the Deckled Rectangles Dies to add the Gorgeous Grape and Tahitian Tide panels.

You cannot tell from the picture but she used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up that panel and added a few basic rhinestones to seal the deal. It is a very pretty card and I am so grateful to Ornetta for sharing it with us. Happy Stamping!

Sending Sunshine-InKing Royalty Blog hop!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop! This month’s hop projects center around a SUNSHINE theme, so I hope you are ready for some sunshine fun! We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Well I have to admit my friends that I was on the struggle bus with this theme. Not that I don’t enjoy sunshine or spreading joy, I just could not find a stamp set in my collection that I wanted to use. Shocking right? I decided to go with the Sending Smiles stamp set and dies to create a sunny background using our Blending Brushes and some Daffodil Delight ink. The sky was created using one or our In-Colors, Tahitian Tide.

I cut my white cardstock at 3-3/4 x5 and then added the sun and sky. Sending is cut with Basic Black and Tahitian Tide cardstock.
Yes, I cheated and used my Stamparatus to add the greeting! I am so sad we cannot sell this item anymore because it comes in so handy to get a bold image when adding a sentiment over a sponged background.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop Jan Dufour at Stamp Me Silly. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it! I hope your day is filled with sunshine. Happy Stamping and have fun!

Flash Back – Favorite Things Friday!

So I am creating cards for a weekend vendor next weekend (August 18-20) in Danvers, Illinois and realized that I don’t have enough baby cards in my inventory. Of course I went through all my adorable baby sets and realized I do not have a current baby set! Oh my, we will have to remedy that.

So today’s cards are truly a flash back to when “Something Baby” was in the annual catalog. I do believe this is my all time favorite baby set from Stampin’ Up!

Danvers is small town outside of Bloomington/Normal where my grandma lived. I have so many fond memories of visiting her while in college (Illinois State University) and of course visiting Danvers Days before my kids were born, but especially when they were little. I have not been to Danvers Days since my daughter was 8 years old and she will be 30th this month! Yikes, it has been a long time.

If you live in Illinois mark your calendars for August 18-20 and come check out Danvers Days!

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae
