You Are Remarkable ~ Five Minute Friday

Happy 4th of July! I hope you are all enjoying your freedom. I know I am so I wanted to give a shout out to all our military friends for keeping us save. We so appreciate you! If you have plans with your family this weekend, then you are in luck because today’s five minute card is super quick giving you plenty of time to get those hamburgers on the grill.

I am using the online exclusive, You Are Remarkable, stamp set. This card is super easy and them most time consuming part is the background that I created using the tiny, but interesting, image in this set. Here is a time saving tip: You don’t need to stamp the entire background. Since you are placing the flower image over the background, you only need to stamp around the edges. I made a light mark using a pencil on the four corners of my image for the front, that way I did not have to waste my time stamping images that aren’t going to show.

I used Basic Beige ink to stamp the borders of my card front. The Basic White fancy border was cut using the second to the largest die from Textured Notes dies. I stamped my flower image and greeting with Pecan Pie on a Basic White that measures 3 x 4-1/2. I used a blending brush and some Crumb Cake ink to add a little dimension around all the edges and then stamped the dotted image in crumb cake ink, stamping off to get a lighter image around the blended border. Add a few butterflies for your bling and you have a beautiful card to share with someone who needs a little love.

I hope you enjoy creating with this set. Because it is a two step set, no coloring is required. I used Darling Duckling for the flower and Old Olive for the leaves. Happy Fourth of July and Happy Stamping!

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Fun Fact Friday with Mosaic Art

Did you know that Barcelona’s Sagrada Família is scheduled for completion in 2026. The final, central spire, measuring in at 566 feet, will make the cathedral the tallest church building on Earth. All spires, as well as the building’s interior and exterior, are covered with mosaic artwork. Who knew???

My card today is not a grand mosaic, but it is the Mosaic Tile Technique for stampers. While a true mosaic art piece is made up of lots of little piece fit together to create an image or design, I mimicked it by using 1 -1/4 x 1-1/4″ Basic white squares to create my own mosaic tile card. I hope you will give this technique a try.

Mosaic Tile Technique

Start with a Basic White panel, mine measures 3-3/4 x 5. Stamp and color your images or feel free to use a piece of our amazing designer series paper, either one will look great. I stamped on my white with the flowers and dotted accents from You Are Remarkable. I used Petunia Pop and Garden Green to add color with the solid images.

After you are finished with all the stamping and coloring, cut your cardstock in portrait position into 1-1/4″ strips. Two cuts will get you three strips. I guess technically you can cut in the landscape position at 1-1/4″, then you will need to make three cuts. Either way, when you have your strips, very carefully and keeping them together, cut at 1-1/4″ again until you have 12 squares aka tiles. You can use washi tape or prepositional tape to keep them together, just be super careful when you are removing the tape, you don’t want to damage any of your tiles.

Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic Black cardstock and begin placing your tiles making sure you have even borders. I like to work in a top and bottom corner to start off. Once you have your first row with spacing down it is easy to keep adding tiles. I also like to use the Tombow liquid glue as it gives you a little more wiggle room to position tiles before it dries.

Then all you have to do is decide on a greeting and add it to your card front. I stamped my Happy Birthday from The Right Words and used Stampin’ Dimensional to attach them to my card front. This is a really fun card, but notice how I did not add this to our Five Minute Friday series. I just takes a little bit more time to be sure all your tiles are straight. That really is the hardest part. I hope you enjoyed today’s card. Happy Stamping!

Cheers and Sips Bundle~Weekly Wed. #57

Happy Wednesday…..anyone up for a cocktail???? Well then grab your drink and join me for a fun Cheers and Sips Bundle presentation. Now through the end of June you can purchase any suite and get a second suite at 50% off. Or you can purchase any bundle within a suite and get a second bundle in a different suite at half off. It is a great deal. All the products within the suites are buy one get one 50% off. So grab that cocktail, make your list, and let’s get crafting. CLICK HERE to see all the suite opportunities!

I started a piece of Basis White cardstock, my heat tool, some Versa Mark ink, and my white embossing powder. Depending on what you want on your cheers and sip card, stamp images in Versa Mark ink and then white embossing powder. This will give you the foundation for all your stamping. Now you are ready to add some color. I choose Daffodil Delight, Summer Splash, and Flirty Flaming.

I played around with a combination of sponge daubers, blend markers and blending brushes. The blending brushes were super easy for the larger glasses while the sponge daubers were great for the tiny fruit. Be sure to wipe off the excess color with a soft towel so your embossed edges are well defined.

I did use a bit of black embossing powder for the greeting because I really wanted it to pop. I used paper snips to create my banner and I was pleased at how it turned out. Of course the Summer Splash cocktail made me long for a real something fun, but it has been many of moons since my bartending days, so I am not even sure what that would be called. Summer Splash sounds fun, maybe some gin and a little blue curacao. Just sayin’.

Either way I hope you enjoy today’s video, Happy Stamping!

Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Blooming Phrases-Weekly Wed. #56

Well, happy Wednesday! Congratulations your work week is half over, so just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Sometimes that is all we can do. But remember the life lesson your grandpa taught you…..As you go through life one learns that if you don’t paddle your own canoe, you don’t move.

Maybe you have never heard that one but it is true. Life is what we make it and in times of struggle it is easy to just float, and while that is good for awhile, it is probably not a great solution. Plus, you don’t get any crafting accomplished. LOL My video today features an new online exclusive, Blooming Phrases, and some of our new Designer Series paper, Lovely Garden. It is super simple so have fun.

Blooming Phrases Online Exclusive

I hope you get time to craft and enjoy a little down time. Today marks my mom’s three year heavenly birthday and while we continue to miss her, life goes on and each day presents a new challenge of living our lives fully to honor those we have loved and lost. “The challenge is in the moment; the time is always now.” — James Baldwin Take time for you and live in the present moment. Keep the faith and you will find joy! I promise!

Triple Stamping~Make It Monday #208

If you have never seen this fun technique, you are going to love it. It is super simple and you can use any stamp set to create a unique card that is sure to brighten someones day. I love blessing others with my card creations because you just never know when someone is having a really bad day. Today, I used three different stamp sets, just so you could see that this technique is quite versatile. I used the Beautiful Butterflies, Natural Botanicals, Textured Notes and Elements of Text. I am sure you have a set or two in your stash that would be perfect for this technique, so let’s get stamping!

The simple trick to this technique is making sure all your layers are secured in place before stamping. I used some repositioning tape, but you can use a small glue dot or some temporary tape. It really doesn’t matter what you choose, just as long as your layers are secure before you begin stamping. Be sure to do all your stamping and coloring before you move your layers. This will help keep a consistent look to your finished project.

Don’t forget to click the button below to download your free project sheet with pictures, measurements, and all the supplies needed to create today’s cards.

I hope you will give this technique a try. You won’t be disappointed. If you would like to leave me a comment, click on the image below.

Still Processing

Sorry all for the lack of postings, it has been a rough couple of weeks. The thing about grief and mourning the loss of someone important in your life is that you never know when or how it is going to sneak up on you. And when it does, well, creativity seems to go out the window. I know, I know, crafting is therapy, and I do believe it is, I am not so sure about blogging. I guess you would have to be the judge of that. LOL

I do apologize for the lack of inspiration this week. In my prayer reflections I am realizing that I never fully mourned the passing of my Dad before my niece Haley became so ill. When she passed it was so quick and while we will never understand the sufferings of the human heart, I sometimes think the body can go numb and we just go through the motions. Not much room I’m afraid for creativity to flow. I guess I need to wait in patient hope.

For those of you who have lost a loved one you know what I am talking about and I am so sorry you know that. For those of you who have never lost a loved one or a parent, Praise God! I do hope to be back with more crafting inspiration next week. But as for now I will have to surrender my heart and my business to the Lord, with the full understanding that I don’t have to do this alone.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae
