Dragonfly Garden-Pretty In Polished Pink

Unless you visit the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis regularly, you probably won’t see many dragonflies and most certainly never pink ones, but I just thought it would be fun to create non-traditional dragonfly card. Mission accomplished!

It may be difficult to see in the photo, but after I folded my card base, I actually cut 1″ off of the right side of the card front. I then stamped the dragonflies on a Basic White panel that measures 2½ x 5½. I added just a hint of Polished Pink ink to the wings using a sponge dauber.

The greeting is stamped in Memento Black and punched with the Double Oval Punch. I used this same punch to crop the scallop oval in Polished Pink. Be sure to only put adhesive on the left side of your ovals and attach to the front panel of your card. The Black dot accents are from Hello Ladybug.

Boughs & Blossoms-Make It Monday #59

It is time again for another Make It Monday tutorial and today I am sharing several cards that I created using the Boughs and Blossoms stamp set that will be retiring at the end of the month. All of my cards began with a Basic White card base. I used Polished Pink, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather to add a splash of color.

These flowers look great in so many different colors. Have fun creating! Thanks so much for joining me for this Make It Monday tutorial. Be sure to stop back tomorrow more card creating ideas, and then again on Wednesday for our May InKing Royal Blog Hop.

Hello Ladybug-Favorite Things Friday

Happy Friday everyone! One of my favorite things is stamping with friends and tomorrow I will be with my friends at Mother of Good Council Nursing Home. Early this week I shared one of the cards I will be making and a stepped up version.

My first card today is the one we will be making in the card class tomorrow. I am sure the residents will love these cute little bugs and I hope you do too.

Project Supplies and Measurements

  • Basic White CS- 5½ x 8½, (card base)
  • Basic White CS- 1 ¼ x 5 ½
  • Basic Black CS-  1 ½ x 5 ½Hello Ladybug Bundle
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Real Red Ink
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/Liquid Glue

The second card is very similar. I used the dots from the bug wings to create the background and added the greeting on a piece of Real Red cardstock.

I hope you enjoy these adorable little bugs and create something fun to share with others.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Artfully Layered-Let’s Step it Up!

Hey friends it is that time of the month when I go to the nursing home in my community to create cards with the residents, so I thought I would share with you one of the cards I created for this Friday’s class. The first cards is the one we will be making at the home and the second is a stepped up version.

I began with a Basic White card base because my friends at the home prefer white cards, but I wanted to add a bit of color, so I took a Blending Brush and added a bit of color to each of the strips. For this first sample I used Melon Mambo, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green. I used the Tailored Tag (sorry I think it is retired) to create the greeting.

Here is my stepped up version. I have tried using bling in these classes, but sometimes it frustrates the residents as they don’t always have the coordination they would like.

This is basically the same card, I just moved the black accent piece on the greeting to the bottom and added a few gems. The Melon Mambo and the Mango Melody panels are the same, but on this one I decided to go with Bermuda Bay instead of Granny Apple Green.

Project Supplies and Measurements

  • Basic White CS- 5½ x 8½, (card base)
  • Basic White CS- 1-5/8 (3), 2 x 2½
  • Basic Black CS- 2 x 2½
  • Artfully Layered Bundle
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Melon Mambo Ink
  • Mango Melody Ink
  • Granny Apple Green Ink
  • Bermuda Bay Ink
  • Blending Brushes
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/Liquid Glue

I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

A Heartfelt Thank You-Nature’s Prints

Not only are the flowers and ferns in the new Nature’s Prints set beautiful, but the splatter stamp makes a super fun background design. Today’s card features the background paper I created using Night of Navy in on some Basic White cardstock. I am sure this would also look good in Basic Black and many other colors too! Wow, I am really loving this set, I hope you are too!

I used the label die and a small flower from the bundle to create a tag for the greeting, and of course I popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
