I AM The Bread of Life-Sunday Wisdom

Sunday Wisdom /

Amen, Amen I say to you I am the bread of life, whoever believes will have eternal life.

Sounds simple right? Well maybe not so much, for to know and love is to move through life with compassion and as Paul teaches us, there is no room for bitterness or malice, none. Love is kindness through compassion and must always include forgiveness.

Jesus taught us how to love by offering love, mercy and forgiveness to everyone. I have to admit sometimes this is so difficult. To forgive those who have hurt you is tough and may at times seem impossible, but if we are going to imitate Christ, we must first forgive. Without forgiveness our love is conditional.

Forgiveness typically brings more healing to the one forgiving, not the forgiven. Forgiveness is a choice and sometimes depending on the situation, the one being forgiven is totally unaware. We can forgive and be healed without coming face to face with the one who has hurt us. Forgiveness is the key to loving and living fully and compassionately. Don’t wait for someone to ask for forgiveness. Forgive anyway and move on. You will experience the healing power of God’s mercy!

Lord, teach me how to love with a love that always forgives.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Circle Fun with Textures and Frames

2 Comments / Sale-a-Bration, Thinking of You /

Textures and Frames is just one of the many sets you can earn FREE during our August- September Sale-a-bration event. Sale-a-bration will run through September 30th. For every $50 you spend, earn a free set, pack of paper or die set. A free download of the SAB catalog is available on the side bar of this post, or if you are going mobile, it will most likely appear after the end of this post.

I guess you could say watching the Summer Olympics inspired this card. While these are not Olympic colors, I used four of the five new in-colors, Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, Polished Pink and Soft Succulent. I began with a Basic White card and added a layer of Polished Pink, followed by a 3 3/4 x 5 layer of white where I stamped the circles from the Textures and Frame set.

Cutting Measurements

All Measurement=inches  CS=Cardstock DSP=Designer Series Paper  Landscape Position=Long side   Portrait Position=short side

Supplies

  • Basic White Cardstock – 5½ x 8½, 3¾ x 5, 2 x 3
  • Polished Pink Cardstock -4 x 5¼, ½ x 5¼
  • Textures and Frames ( Sale-a-bration Set)
  • Peaceful Moments
  • Fresh Freesia Ink
  • Pale Papaya Ink
  • Polished Pink Ink
  • Soft Succulent Ink
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/ Liquid Glue

Then hardest part of this card will be cleaning your circle stamp in between colors. LOL The greeting is stamped in Soft Succulent and punched out with the Tailored Tag punch. TIP: The Shammy 147042 $8) cleans these stamps beautifully. Be sure you begin with a clean shammy. I hope you are crating and enjoying the Olympic games!

Nuts About Squirrels or Not!

Just Because Cards /

I am super excited to share this cute squirrel set with you. I think baby squirrels are super cut, but boy are they annoying. I know they will chew through just about anything when they are hungry. I have have a plastic storage unit for my patio cushions to prove that one.

They are super curious critters too. Did you know that adult squirrels can consume about one and a half pounds of seeds and nuts each week, which is roughly the equivalent of their own body weight. No wonder my Dad has to fill his bird feeders so often. The Gray Squirrel stocks its winter pantry by burying up to 10,000 nuts each fall. Now, that is a lot of work!

My card today was much less involved. I began with a Crumb Cake card base and added a layer of Cajun Craze followed by another layer of Crumb Cake and topped it off with a panel of Basic White.

Sadly there is not a die or punch for this set, so I fussy cut these little critters.

Cutting Measurements

All Measurement=inches  CS=Cardstock DSP=Designer Series Paper  Landscape Position=Long side   Portrait Position=short side

Supplies

  • Crumb Cake Cardstock – 5 ½ x 5 ½, 3 ¾ x 5
  • Cajun Craze Cardstock -4 x 5 ¼
  • Basic White Cardstock- 3 ½ x 4 ¾, 4 x 5 ¼ (inside)
  • Nuts About Squirrels Stamp Set
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Crumb Cake Ink
  • Soft Suede Ink
  • Stamparatus
  • Stampin’ Seal Adhesive/ Liquid Glue

I will definitely be reaching for this stamp set for more fun fall cards. If you like little critters or if you need a fun card to cheer someone up, this set is for you! Don’t forget to use the current host code so you can earn more free products!
