Make It Monday #521 Botanical Layers

Here is a closer look!

Remember, if you want a lighter look for your leaves, stamp off first. The second generation image gives a more subtle look.

Enjoy creating this card with a variety of colors. I love the look of the Sketched Plaid Background stamp and Yay, it is carrying over to the new catalog.

I love the look of the Gorgeous Grape and the Melon Mambo inks together. It make a rich looking card, don’t you agree? Have fun creating, I am sure you will come up with some amazing cards to share with your family and friends. Happy Stamping!

I stamped the flowers in Gorgeous Grape and the leaves in Old Olive. I added a border of Old Olive around the stamped images and a thin strip across the front to create a faux ribbon look. The greeting is stamped with Gorgeous Grape and cropped with the Nestled Essential Dies. Of course I could not resist and had to add just a little bling!

Spring Stamping With Friends-Favorite Things Friday!

Good morning all, not only is it Friday but it is time for another card class at Mother of Good Counsel Home, an assisted living/nursing care center in my neighborhood. It is run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Martyr St. George and it is one of my favorite card classes.

I thought I would share with you the three cards that I created for today’s class. I try to keep things as simple as I can as I typically have 10 residents attend. Some of the products you see are retired, others are not, but hey at least you get the card idea-right?

Card #1

I created the Eggs ahead of time so all the residents had to do was add them to the card front. Sorry my image looks a little dull at the bottom, I must have gotten some excess glue on it. Oh well, homemade, right?

Card #2

Stamp Set: Something Fancy

This is one of those fracture cards. I thought it would be fun and maybe just a bit too intricate, so I created the front panel ahead of time and all they have to do is stamp the thank you and add the panel to the card front. Easy Peasy!

Stamp Set: Good Feelings

This is a super easy but totally cool one. It is hard to see in the photo but there is a glitter stripe next to all the colors. I think they will like the extra bling! I hope you pull out your crafting supplies and create a card to bless someone today. Happy Stamping. Don’t forget about the retiring stamp sets, paper, tools, and bling in the mini and annual catalogs. CLICK HERE if you missed that post.

For my Botanical Layers card I began with an Old Olive card base. I stamped some of the leaves in Old Olive on another panel of Old Olive CS that measures 4 x 5 1/4. The Basic white panel is 3 x 4 and I again stamped some leaves with Old Olive ink.

The greeting is from Good Feelings (also retiring) and is stamped with Memento Black ink. I added a little color around the Basic White panel using some Old Olive ink and a Blending Brush. Have fun looking through all the retiring products and making your list, but remember, the Last Chance items are while supplies last. Happy Stamping and Happy Shopping!
