Forever Fern-Forever Friends!

The Forever Fern set really does make me smile! I love the earthy tones of green and the stamps look so real. This may be my all time favorite stamp and I do hope it will carry over to the new annual catalog.

Soon the retired list for our current catalog will be available and I will post it here for all of you. So be sure to follow me so you will not miss that post!

I love the paper and I love making my own designer series paper using this set. Check out the Forever Fern 4 part video series on my You Tube Channel! CLICK HERE to watch the first video!

  • Begin with a Shaded Spruce card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼”.  Fold and burnish.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. Before you attach it to the card front, cut a 2 x4 piece of Forever Greenery Designer Series paper and layer it to the lower portion of the Soft Sea Foam panel.
  • Wrap a piece of the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (pictured on page 161 in the annual catalog) around the Soft Sea Foam panel, covering the seam of the designer series paper.
  • Next cut a 3 x 3” piece of Forever Greenery Designer Series paper and attach it to a 3 ¼ x3 ¼” square of Shaded Spruce cardstock.  Attach the squares to the upper portion of the card front layering over the Soft Sea Foam layer, the designer series paper and the ribbon.
  • Attach the decorated Soft Sea Foam layer to the Shaded Spruce card front.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the Layering circles to cut a Shaded Spruce and a Basic White circle. Stamp the greeting in Memento Black ink on the white circle and glue the two circles together.
  • Attach the circle embellishment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I tied a bow with using the Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon and added it to the card front with a mini glue dot.

Floral Flower Fun!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature Flowers & Fauna, a brilliant starting point for so many projects. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I love flowers, but I do not have a green thumb, so I can create flowery cards instead. This card will be going to my mother-in-law who is currently living with her daughter in Virginia Beach. Before COVID, mom was living half of the year with us and the other half in Virginia Beach and now that she can no longer travel, I try to send her a card a week.

Today’s card was created especially with her in mind. I used the Art Gallery Bundle and the Vine Design Dies and am hoping that it brightens her day!

  • Begin with a 5 ½ x 8 ½” piece of Basic Black cardstock.  In landscape position (AKA-long side), score at 4 ¼”, burnish and fold.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Calypso Coral cardstock and use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to dry emboss it with the new Painted Texture embossing folder.  Attach to the card front using liquid glue.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the rectangular die from Vine Designs and crop it out using Basic Black cardstock.  Layer it on top of the Calypso Coral panel using liquid glue.
  • Stamp two large flowers from the Art Gallery Bundle onto Basic White cardstock scraps and cut them out with the coordinating dies form the bundle. I stamped the more solid stamp in Calypso Coral ink and stamped off on some scrap paper before stamping on my white cardstock.  Stamp the accent for the large flower in Calypso Coral ink without stamping off so it has a darker contrast.
  • Again use some Basic White cardstock scrap to stamp the leaves in Mossy Meadow ink.  I stamped several with full ink and several by stamping off to create a lighter looking leaf.
  • Layer the first flower and the leaf to the left side of the card and attach directly to the Vine Design layer. Attach the second flower and the leaves using some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The little black accent in the center of the flower is from Pretty Perennial set.
  • Stamp the greeting in Memento Black ink and punch it out with the Classic Label punch.  Optional: Add one small Matte Black dot to the left of the greeting!
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼”piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp the leaf image in Mossy Meadow and the small flower in Calypso Coral directly to the cardstock.
  • Stamp the greeting in Memento Black ink. I used the Lovely You set. I also used the splatter image from Forever Fern to add some dimension.
  • Stamp an additional small flower in Calypso Coral on some Basic White cardstock and crop it out using the coordinating die in the Art Gallery Bundle.  Layer on the first flower using a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Sand and Sea Fun!

I love the sound of the ocean wave, preferably in person, but while getting a massage or falling to sleep at night is nice too. Although I would love to vacation in a home on the beach, I am not sure that I would be brave enough to actually live along the ocean shore.

The waves are beautiful but can also be powerful and a bit scary. I guess if it were on a bluff and close enough to walk, like say a mile or two, that would be awesome.

Today’s card was created as a virtual make and take by a fellow demonstrator, Kathrine Anderson. Thank Kathrine for sharing your time, energy, and talent with all of us!

  • This card was sent to me as a kit and contains some of the pearlized paper, the seashell stickers and was embossed with the seaside embossing folder.
  • The pearlized squares are decorated with the stickers and also a round opal jewel.
  • I used Early Espresso ink and the Framed for You stamp set to stamp for the greeting and added some linen thread around the card front.

Enjoy this set while it lasts! I do hope they carry it over to the 2021-2022 annual catalog, which is coming very soon!!! If you would like to add this to your collection, don’t forget to add and apply the host code to your order!

Thanks guys, I really do appreciate your orders!!! Remember if you spend $25 either through my online store or by emailing me your order you will receive the March Virtual stamp camp class free. Class links and directions will be emailed the last week of the month.

Enjoy!!

Well Suited!

If you are like me and struggle creating manly looking cards, then you are going to love the new Well Suited Suite. It has everything you need to create that perfect card for the men in your life. Fun fact, the paper inspiration was actually created from a real tie collection from one of the employees at Stampin’ UP!

Today’s card was part of a make and take from a virtual stamping event and was created by fellow demonstrator Sally Nusbaum. Thanks Sally!!!

This second card was also included in the virtual make and take, but I changed up the original card just a bit. This one was created for a woman and the jewel bling to create the necklace was made using the Opal Rounds from the Sand and Sea Suite pictured on page 41 of the January thru June 2021 catalog.

The “Happy Birthday” greeting is stamped in Rococo Rose ink and punched out using the Double Oval Punch.

I hope you enjoy working with this suite and create many wonderful manly cards!

For God So Loved the World-Sunday Wisdom

This is a pretty famous Scripture saying, “For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son” and these simple words can bring us so much hope.

God did not send his Son to condemn us, but to help us see the light! We are all created in God’s image, yes, but we were also created with freedom of choice and sometimes that means we make bad choices. Of’ course we are not measured by our past mistakes or bad choices and God wanted to make that very clear, so He sent his only Son to enlighten us.

We have to allow ourselves to be enlightened. So, how do we keep that Divine light in our lives? How do we stay connected to our inner goodness? Quite simply put, through daily prayer. Prayer is the spark that ignites the light of the presence of God within all of us. God’s light fills all of us with love, forgiveness and healing. The light of God is so powerful that it spreads to others and shines most brightly when we are being true to our most inner selves.

Prayer is our continual awareness that God loves us and will never abandon us. So go ahead, flip the switch! Turn on that light of prayer and shine brightly for all to see.

Vine Design Thinking of You

There are so many great sets in the January – June Mini catalog that it is easy to miss some of the amazingly detailed dies. The Vine Design Bundle has many coordinating dies, but it also has three spectacular fancy dies that will make a great accent to any of your creations.

I spent the last few days with a friend and we had a good time playing these floral dies. Here is one of the cards I created. I hope you like and and that it will inspire you to create something beautiful.

  • Begin with a Cherry Cobbler card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼”.  Fold and burnish.
  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Gold Foil sheet and use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to dry emboss it with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder and use liquid glue to attach it to the card front.
  • Use the floral circle die from the Vine Design Bundle and cut it from a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  Cut a coordinating circle from the Layering Circle Dies with Cherry Cobbler cardstock and layer the two together.  Attach this to the Gold Foil embossed layering with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Heat emboss the greeting with Memento Black Ink and Clear embossing powder. First, use the Stamparatus to stamp the greeting in Memento Black ink several times onto some Cherry Cobbler cardstock and immediately add the clear embossing powder. Shake off excess powder and us the heat tool to emboss the greeting.
  • Crop the greeting using the coordinating die from the Vine Design Bundle and attach to the Gold Foil embossed layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • For that finishing touch, add three gold metallic pearls to the center of the flowers.

This Vine Design Bundle is available through June, so be sure to check it out and if you decide you want to add it to your collection, don’t forget to add and apply the Host code to your order. Our current Host code: WYXSZPMJ

Remember, a $25 monthly order earns you a FREE virtual stamp camp! Thanks so much for your loyalty! I hope you have a great weekend!

Friends are Like Seashells

Good friends are like those rare and beautiful seashells and if you are lucky, you will find a few gems that will stick with you through thick and thin. Over the years I have had the pleasure to meet many good people and am more blessed to call those closest to me friends. Stampin’ UP! has been a huge part of my being able to make and keep good friends.

Today’s card honors all the beloved friends in our lives, those here with us and those who have passed before us. If you are lucky enough to have good friends in your life, send them a simply beautiful card today!

  • Begin with a Rococo Rose base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼”.  Fold and burnish.
  • Cut a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8” piece of Basic Black cardstock and layer it to the front of the card base.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to dry emboss a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Very Vanilla with the Seashells embossing folder and attach it to the Basic Black panel on the card front.
  • Cut a 2 3/8 x 3 3/8” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and using the sponge dauber, sponge the lower portion in Crumb Cake for sand, the middle section in Balmy Blue for the ocean and a mixt of Balmy Blue and Blushing Bride for the sky.
  • Use Soft Suede to stamp speckles in the sand area.   Stamp one of the medium sized seashell in Soft Suede on a scrap of very vanilla, cut it out and attach to the vanilla layer.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Memento Black ink in the upper left corner.
  • Cut a 2 ½ x 3 ½” piece of Rococo Rose cardstock and a 2 ½ x 3 ½” piece of Basic Black cardstock.  Layer the vanilla sand scene to the black and Rococo Rose as pictured.

Stamp the inside with a sentiment of your choice. I stamped mine from the Friends are Like Seashells bundle in Memento Black ink.

Be As Bold As Your Lipstick!

I love the Dressed to Impress stamp set and matching dies in the annual catalog, but I have to admit, I don’t wear lipstick. I don’t even wear make-up for that matter. When I was younger, I thought sleeping that extra 30 minutes was worth not wearing make-up.

Before the coronavirus hit, I would head to the gym first thing in the morning to swim laps. Sometimes I would swim at lunch so I guess I just never had time to do make-up. And now that we wear masks most of the time who is ever going to notice. Right?

So while I don’t really wear lipstick, I had fun making this card and I do hope you enjoy it. The first image is a clean and simple version and the second image is a bit stepped up with an additional stamp from the Dress to Impress set. Note, the black border around the card is just for viewing purposes and is not part of the actual card.

Which one do you like the best? Feel free to leave me a comment!

  • Begin with a Basic White base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼”.  Fold and burnish.
  • Cut a 2¾ x 4” piece of designer series paper from the True Love designer series paper pack and attach it to the left side of the card base leaving a small white border all around.
  • Next cut a 2 ½ x 3 ¾” piece of Basic Black cardstock and layer it near the bottom right of the card front overlapping the designer series paper.
  • Stamp the greeting on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock in Memento Black ink and punch it out with the Rectangular Postage Punch. Stamp the accent in Poppy Parade ink.
  • Stamp the perfume bottle in Memento Black ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock and the colored accent stamp in Poppy Parade ink. I stamped off first to give it a lighter look. Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the perfume matching die from All Dressed Up to crop the bottle.
  • Stamp the lipstick in Stazon ink and use the water painters with Poppy Parade ink to color the lipstick. It is important to use Stazon ink when working with the water painters so the color will not bleed.

Card #2 is exactly the same, I just added the black dots with memento black ink and a stamp included in the set to the right side of the card front.

I hope you have a blessed day and are filled with confidence to create something beautiful to share with others.
