Make It Monday # 138 – Handcrafted Element Dies

It’s time again for another Make It Monday tutorial and today I have three card that I created with the Handcrafted Element Dies. A Closer Look

The ornament of this first card was cut using our Gold Foil sheets and the greeting is heat embossed with some Basic White Embossing powder. I love how it makes the greeting pop and is so festive for the season.

The first two cards were created using the snowflake sky embossing folder and the first layer. The first card was with Night of Navy and the second with Petal Pink cardstock. I love the totally different look. I like them both.

My last card was created with a Highland Heather card base. For the die cut element I first created a watercolor background and mounted it on a piece of Very Vanilla. Click here for watercolor background video. I added a bit of Highland Heather ink around the edges and stamped my image in Gorgeous Grape. Feel free to add the bling/embellishment of your choice. Happy Stamping!

Peace On Earth ~ Make It Monday #137

Peace on Earth, wouldn’t that be nice. We can always pray and hope for that but for now, I am bringing you three Peace on Earth cards that I created using the Classic Christmas Bundle. I hope these cards will lift your spirits and fill you with holiday cheer.

A Closer Look

Card #1 was created with Classic Christmas Stamp set and the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper.

Card #2 was created using the Snowflake Sky embossing folder along with the Handcrafted Elements Dies. The Gold Foil cardstock really makes this ornament stand out. I heat embossed the greeting with Basis White Embossing powder.

Card # 3 was created using the Watercolor Background Technique that I featured in the Make It Monday #135 video a few weeks ago, click here if you missed that episode. I used only used one of the ornament dies on this card so the watercolor technique would shine through.

I hope you enjoy these cards. Be sure to check out my Make it Monday video #135 if you missed the watercolor background technique. I am really loving how this looks with our Christmas dies and stamped. Happy Stamping!

Watercolor My World! Make It Monday #135

A few Sundays ago my friend Laura Rossmann taught a watercolor class in my home. What a great technique and it was so much fun to see all the colorful backgrounds everyone created. Laura inspired me to use this technique to create a few watercolor backgrounds of my own and I thought I would share them with you in this week’s Make It Monday tutorial. Thanks Laura, you are a great teacher!

A Closer Look

I used our Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, a Daffodil Delight spot, a Garden Green spot, and a Blueberry Bushel spot to create the background for my first two cards. You can do all colors at once or individually. Be sure to let your cardstock dry complete between colors and before you stamp and assemble your final panels. I added a few silver pearls to my first card.

For my third card I again used our Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, a Daffodil Delight spot, a Gorgeous Grape spot and a Balmy Blue spot. Your final project really does depend on the color combo that you choose and also where you place your paper on the the color palette you create. It is so fun to see how the final project turns out once it dries completely.

I used the Night Divine stamp set on all three cards and I stamped the greetings with Night of Navy and Memento Black ink. Again be sure that your project is completely dry before stamping and assembling your final project. I decided to add a few very small pearls to my last card but you could also use some colored gems.

Laura’s class inspired me and I hope my cards today inspire you to play around with this technique and create something unique and beautiful. Happy Stamping!
